I found a comic store downtown! wohoo! :)
Anyway, I bought:
Nightwing #73
Batgirl #32
Supergirl #73 and 74
When I purchased them, one guy was like, "I put some extra things in there." Naturally I thought it was advertisments, so I thanked him. When I got back to my dorm, I found ads....
and Green Arrow - The Archer's Quest #16
AND Fantastic Four, a 9-cent issue.
What a way to make my day!!! Make that my week! :p

I just got 2 this week but two titles I love reading:
Ultimate Spiderman #28 - First off I have to say the cover looks great and as usual love how the title fits perfect with the story. As you all know this issue introduces Ultimate Rhino and has him tearing up a bank and attacking police and Peter runs off to save the day but gets Sidetracked (The title) by his Aunt, Gwen, Bullies and when he finally gets there.... Nah go get it to find out :p
Ultimate X-men #22 - Another great cover. This issue was pretty good and got a few things moving along. The Brotherhood begins to start up again still thinking Magneto is dead. Kitty has gotten alot better at controling her powers and Wolverine and Scott have a good ol' your going down fight that is stopped by Xavier right before...Well get the issue to find out. Also on the last page we see Jean isn't fine like Xavier thought!
Overall a great week. I plan on getting the following next week: Actually as of right now nothing. Nothing I get is on the list for next week. Hope it gets some added...

Well, it is Wednesday already, and I haven't gotten around to doing my "snippets" from last week yet, so here they are.

Action #795
Agent X #3
Amazing Spider-Man #45
Daredevil: Yellow (HC)
Fantastic Four #61
The Flash #190
JLA #72
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen #3
Tangled Web #18
Wolverine #181
Action #795 The best chapter in this arc. I really liked the first half, with Supes conversation with Luthor, it kind of falls apart after that. B-
Agent X #3 This book is climbing my top ten. I never suspected that the this book could out do the late issues of Deadpool, but it has proven itself the best yet. The art is great, but I wish it were a little more "American" looking, if you know what I mean. Also I don't know how I feel about the books tendency to move from one scenario to the next, or pass time, without segway or exposition. These are minor complaints. A-
Amazing Spider-Man #45 This arc is beginning to drag just a tad. It's still a great story, but the melodrama is a bit on the thick side. Not that I don't enjoy melodrama when it's done well, it is just a little boring and out of place in this arc. B
Daredevil: Yellow (HC) While Mr. Sale's art lives up, very well, to its hype, I find MR. Loeb's writing to be highly overrated. After all the good things I've heard about this book, I found the story to be decidedly average. I was also disapointed in a story that promises a tragic climax, and does not deliver. I hope Spider-Man: Blue does not turn out the same way, although I already find it borrowing the "letters to the dead" story device. I may or may not look into this team's Batman and Superman TPBs after this disapointment, as well as Loeb's coming run on Batman with Jim Lee. Also it is overpriced and I don't like reading hardcovers. C
Fantastic Four #61 It's a pretty good story, but I'm tired of the farting around, and ready for some cosmic style action. How about someone try to invade the Earth or Dr. Doom try and take over or something. I give this one mad credit for making me gasp out loud, I think the first time a comic book ever did. When I turned the page and saw Richards' baby with her eyes hollowed out. B
The Flash #190 I enjoyed this prophile of a villain I'm really completely unfamiliar with. Nothing that great, but still enjoyable. B
JLA #72 Not much to say about this except a great ending. I can hardly wait to find out what happens!!! B
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen #3 It was pretty good, but I must say the text backup was fantastic, I don't want to give up any spoilers but you've got to check it out. Hilarious stuff here. My only disapointment is that Oz only got a token acknowledgement. A+ with extra credit
Tangled Web #18 It was cute. Got a few chuckles out of me. C+
I haven't gotten a chance to read Wolverine #181 yet.
This week I got.
Daredevil Visionaries: Kevin Smith with Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti
Green Arrow #17
Hawkman #8
Superman #187
Uncanny X-Men #414
for some reason my comic book shop did not have the new Detective yet, maybe I'll check back later since Gotham Knights '68 seems to have gotten it.

EXILES #18
GREEN ARROW #17
HAWKMAN #8
JUSTICE LEAGUE ADVENTURES #12
LUCIFER #30
SUPERMAN #187
ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #28
ULTIMATE X-MEN #22
UNCANNY X-MEN #414
X-MEN ICONS CHAMBER #3

I picked up:
Detective 775
Green Arrow 16
Superman 187
Lab Rats 7
Clayface
10-02-2002, 09:40 PM
I got:
Detective #775 - The last issue by Rucka, and a pretty good one at that. Though it was a little predictable (I knew this was going to happen several issues back, and said so in a previous talkback thread), it was an interesting "end" to the Sasha storyline. I'm going to miss Rucka a lot on this title.
Elektra #15
Green Arrow #17
Icons: Chamber #3 - This issue was better than the last, but still not all that great. The "surprise" ending wasn't all that much of a surprise, though I am interested in the motive.
Justice League Adventures #12 - The cover is great, and the inside art is excellent. The story was sort of average, and the dialogue was just off at times. An ok issue, but not one of the best.
Lucifer #30
The Punisher #16
Rising Stars #20
Uncanny X-Men #414 - A very good issue. This title is slowly drawing my interest back into the x-universe. I like the character development in this issue, and the storyline really pulls on the heartstrings. A great read.

CRAP! DETECTIVE CAME IN?!?! I didn't get it.....curses.....
What I DID get, though.....
DOOM PATROL #13 - Tan Eng Huat wasn't on art chores, but it was enjoyable nonetheless (I dig the thing DC replaced the letter pages with....reminds me of Watch This Space).
ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #28 - I think many people will agree that the Goblin arc didn't live up to expectations. But this issue was simply brilliant.
ULTIMATE X-MEN #22 - HA-CHA! I love this title! The big fight scene was great, really digging this.
ELEKTRA #15 - Greg nailed it. Again.
RISING STARS #20 - Best superhero anthology. Period.
Small week, but hey, it's a five week month.
Punisher #16
More gold by Garth Ennis! Frank continues his eradication of New York’s various mob soldiers, only to find his latest targets disappearing before he can get to them. Wolverine happens to stumble across this mystery by accident, and the two eventually cross paths.
Ennis has never denied his hatred for superheroes, and his jabs at Logan are humorous but tame when compared to how he treated Spider-Man and Daredevil in earlier issues.
Here’s looking forward to Ennis and Steve Dillon’s upcoming storyarc!
Rising Stars #20
Act 3 is shaping up to be the best of the series, far superior to Act 2. I can’t wait until this series concludes, not because I want it to end, but because I want to reread the whole thing without the lengthy delays between each issue.
Issue #20 is another great story, with some powerful moments if you’ve been following since issue #1.
Superman #187
Spectre #22
Star Wars Insider #62

Warning: The following post contains gloating and showing off. If you do not like to hear this kind of thing, please do not read any further.
Ok, I got back from that big weekend sale at the comic book store and they had THOUSANDS of issues including major titles) at 3 books for $1.00 (or 50 cents a book individually). Check out the titles I bought for this deal:
Superman in Action Comics #0, 694, 701,702
Superman The Man of Steel #0, 507,516
Catwoman #0
Superman: The Doomsday Wars Book One
Batman Vegeance of Bane #1
Batman #458
Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #0
Batman Sword of Azrael Book One,Two,Three, and Four.
Do the math and you will see that I bought 16 comics for $5.50. Is that awesome or what?? :D
And that's not all. They even had a sale on VHS and action figures(Star Wars) though I didn't buy any. Plus, inside they had 50% off back issues and bought two more comics: Superman #77 and JLA #69 (each less than $1.00).
So add it all up (with tax) and I got 18 comics for $7.56.
The sale goes on for the weekend only so if you guys are in Florida or want to go, PM me and I'll give you directions to get there.

Let's see I got the following:
Detective 775: It was good. Though I have to admit I'm not entirely sure Bruce meant what Sascha thinks he meant. (Yes I'm being vague. Not sure how to do the spoiler thing)
Green Arrow 17: I started reading GA with the new arc and so far I really like it.
Then I got some back issues. Titans: The Trial of Cheshire and the Arsenal one shot and 3 out of the 4 parts of his mini.

*sobs* They were out of Nightwing! I almost fainted, what a horrible thought. But they'll have more by the time I come later this week. But they still had one copy of the redone Birds of Prey TPB, so I snatched that baby right up.

Howdy,
The list of weird stuff I got was:
- Justice League Adventures #12. Not bad, but not spectacular. Then again, it has a really hard act to follow from #11.
- Ruse #12. Last of the Mark Waid issues. And this is how it ends...not with a bang, but with a whimper. Considering Waid's influence on the title seems to be directly proportional to my interest in it, I think #13 will get a read before it gets purchased.
- Liberty Meadows #1. I read some of the last newspaper strips, and it reminded me a lot of Hepcats. I wish Frank Cho would draw Brandy with a bit less va-va-voom, especially because it seems she's been, ah, getting bigger over time. The comic is still pretty amusing, though.
- Skinwalker #4. FBI conspiracies, uneasy alliances, a gun-to-gun confrontation in an elevator that would do John Woo proud, gruesome serial killings, revenge plots, and weird Native American magic rituals. What's not to like? Well, OK, the art was a little weak, but the story was terrific. I highly recommend grabbing the TPB if they make one of this.
Sadly, it looks like the collected Y: The Last Man didn't ship this week, like it was supposed to. Both comic shops I visited promised next week, though. I've heard too many good things about this title not to get it, and the premise (all the men on the planet vanish except for this one street magician guy and his monkey -- mayhem ensues) is just warped enough to appeal to me.

I got:
Batman: Gotham Adventures #54 Exceptional issue. I liked to hear the story from the writer's pov somewhat. This is one story that left me guessing to the end like #49.
Justice League Adventures #12 Good art and a great story. It was very interesting and a different approach. I also love to see characters that you probably won't see in JL such as this issue's and a lot from #6.
Ultimate Spider-Man #28 A very good break from the other hard-pressed Peter storyarcs. Its nice to know that he still has a sense of humor and stand-alone/humorous stories aren't ancient in USM.
