I live with my parents, and since I wisely didn't sign up for 8am classes I tend to get 6-7 hours of sleep...
More when I don't browse the boards...

Sleep, what's sleep?
Anyhoo, um, on average, if I'm lucky 6 -- usually <cough> 3. But I tend to "catch up" on weekends. If I don't get enough sleep tho, I tend to 1.) be a major crab and 2.) oversleep through, or just plain sleep during, class. Tis bad.

More or less, exactly 7 hours of sleep every night. Sometimes 8 or the weekends. I'm a stickler for sleep. No matter how many people can go on 4 hours of sleep, it's not healthy and you aren't functioning as well or as good as you could be if you were getting the average amount of sleep. 7 is the average. High schoolers and college students seems to run on like 5 and less. 8 normally makes me drowsy, 6 I can deal with....heck, I can deal with 3 hours depending on what I have to go through the following day, but I couldn't, and wouldn't want to do that for a series of nights. I know in the future I may have to pull a few "cram sessions", staying up late into the night. But so far my schedule is working out great, even with commuting to school...which is 30 miles away, and takes me anywhere from 30-45 mintues to get there.

The main problem with sleeping very little is that you can't get up the next day, and after you do, you're not very sharp. And if you pull an all-nighter, it's likely you won't be able to think straight. In my freshman year, I would sometimes pull all-nighters being lazy, then I'd study for a test at the last minute. I would do great on the test, but I would also constantly walk into trees and spend hours playing with scotch tape. There'd be nothing wrong with this behavior if it wasn't also killing your brain at the same time.
You need sleep, people.
Right now, I get up at the same time every morning, but bedtime varies from night to night, depending on when I stop working and pass out. I recommend adopting a repetitive system that you can follow during the whole week so that you start to respond instinctively to the certain times of day. That way, your alarm clock only does half the work.

I aim for eight hours, usually achieving seven. If my roommates are being loud and rowdy in the next room... four or five, and a double homicide in the morning

All my classes are evening classes right now, so I go to bed rather late. Regardless, I still manage about 6 hours of sleep a night, and then an hour or two in the mid-afternoon if I get bored and feel I need the energy for later.
On weekends I make sure I at least get four hours at night - then I get two or three after I come home at about 3pm.
Now I have a question for all of you living in dorms: how many times have you had pizza this school year? :D

I get 7 hours. My first class is at 10:30, but I like to stay up late and watch David Letterman. I prefer to have less sleep anyway.

It depends what day it is, but usually I get about 7 hours. If I have work, I will get 5 or 6, which is what I've been getting lately because I've had tests and papers.
But I take naps. :)

I usually have between 6-8 hours of sleep. It depends on how much work I've got done ;)

My roommate likes to go to sleep pretty early- between 11:30-12, preferably, although it's usually been 12-12:30. I kinda wish it was later, I could get more done ^_^'

The key concept to remember is naps, and lots of em. I usually sleep for about 3 hours from 1 to 4 in the mornin, then I like to get up and do my homework. Then depending on the day I generally get 2 or 3 more hours of sleep. Generally, I like to take a short nap in the afternoon. I wish it was like Spain and we all got to lie down and have a siesta each day, so I'm doin my part.
