What the subject says. Which cartoon city/locale would you *least* want to find yourself in? Either for their life-threatening-violence/crime levels, insane criminals, alien invasions, citizens' relentless stupidity, or just for their being all-around annoying, let's hear it!
1. Quahog, Rhode Island ("Family Guy")
2. Springfield ("The Simpsons")
3. Gotham City ("Batman")
4. Metropolis ("Superman")
5. Townsville ("Powerpuff Girls")
6. South Park, Colorado ("South Park")
7. Other

Townsville. I just find it strangely cold and creepy. Also kind of, uh, gross.
I actually wouldn't mind Gotham. Sure, it's a cesspool of crime, but it's a place I can see myself moving into if I want privacy (okay, other than Batman snooping all over the place). It's a very isolated kind of area.

I chose South Park, simply because I despise that show. The only other one I would choose would be Townsville (not familiar with it) and Quahog (nothing particularly interesting or of note there).
Hey, how come Cape Suzette, Duckburg, and St. Canard didn't make the cut? *THINKS* Oh yeah, this is a city you'd LEAST want to visit...gotcha. :p

I would say Southpark as well. For all the reason tim noted. But if it came right down to it, I wouldn't want to be in Tokyo 3.

I'm going with a non-poll choice. I say Tokyo 3 as well, 'cause I'd probably die in the first Angel attack, knowing my luck. - -;;;

Gotham City. Theres a lot of wacko's out there.
Gotham City
You'd need a death wish to visit there.
Springfield would be disorienting, since the locations are always moving around. (buildings would move whenever the script called for it; Moe's Tavern and the Simpson house for example)
BTW, I accidently voted for Metropolis because at first glance I thought the poll said "what city would you MOST want to visit?" I know, I'm an idiot. :o If it's worth the effort, could a mod change my vote to Gotham?

I put Townsville for the obvious reason: because it seems to get attacked by a giant monster and partially destroyed every couple days or so. It must be hell to be a commuter in Townsville. You start to wonder whether they start mentioning monster attacks in with the traffic report on the radio. "And commuters would be advised to stay away from the I-17, which was crushed by a hydra today. And in breaking news, the entire east side was reduced to a puddle of molten steel thanks to Mojo Jojo. The Powerpuff Girls are on their way and we'll try to get traffic flowing again as soon as possible."
I'd tend to stay away from Paradigm City for the same reason. "And the mysterious Black Megadeus crushed the better part of East Dome Number 5 for the third time this week with a missed Mega Buster Punch...."

I voted for South Park, and I will tell you why: Unlike Tim, I love the show, but within that town resides some of the stupidest people and the strangest situations imaginable. It's a nice place to watch, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to live there.

ditto Lonestar! :D I have, at various times, loved watching South Park, but it's full of really strange, stupid, creepy people and often uncomfortable situations.
Townsville wouldn't be bad: sure, it gets constantly attacked by monsters and super-villains, but nobody ever seems to get hurt or killed! In fact, the worst that ever happens is property damage which is always fixed by the next episode, so what's the big deal? :p (I'll bet insurance companies hate that town! :D )
And, despite the Megadeuses, I'd definitely visit Paradigm City if I had the chance: lots of interesting people and interesting night spots make it a reasonable choice for a vacation! :D

Townsville: Even though it has three whoopass girls with extraordinary powers as its protectors, I still wouldn't like living in a city that was attacked periodically by monsters, madmen, etc.
South Park: I love snow and I love the mountains... but while I can handle living in a small town in/near the mountains, I don't think I could adjust to the constant supply of snow. Besides, the idea of having Satan, gun fanatics, and incompetent cops as frequent visitors or neighbors just creeps me out. (And being surrounded by morons wouldn't make it easier, either.)

I voted for South Park, for reasons already stated. Having not known anything about Family Guy other than its title, Quahog was new to me.
Voted for South Park due to not wanting to risk getting an anal probe, accused of sexual molestation, eaten by a big robotic Barbra Streisand, or be anyplace near a singing and dancing piece of christmas poo.

One such incident occurred in "Three Girls and a Monster," the guest star of which bore a *remarkable* resemblance to Godzilla. The episode transcript described the scene thusly:
From the ground, we see a section of highway at rush hour and hear car horns honking. The camera turns up to an electronic message sign that reads “MONSTER ATTACK,” and changes to “EXPECT DELAYS” as the girls fly over it.

Townsville - where monster attacks are part of the daily norm ><

Whoops, I voted thinking you meant Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis....
Otherwise, Townsville, because the people in that town are abnormally stupid.

> It must be hell to be a commuter in Townsville. <
CN has a promo on exactly that theme, in live action no less. It features a 9-to-5 type guy driving to work around a 'Godzilla' leg, getting turned into a dog (and back again) at the bank, having his suit covered with Gang Green grafitti in the elevator, and closing his office blinds to screen out a view of the 'eyeball monster'. All the while he maintains complete composure. At the end, this caption runs under the guy's picture:
BORN AND RAISED IN TOWNSVILLE
Well, if the folks in Akron Ohio can live with the constant stench from the tire factories...

I'm gonna have to say Tokyo 3 as well. I can do just fine without the threat of an Angel attack than you very much. Plus the people who live there just have issues :p
Also I wouldn't want to live in any city the Vash the Stampede would visit :D

Gotham. One reason that trumps aliens and monsters and stupids: the Sun. It's always nighttime in Gotham. The Joker doesn't look like that because of chemicals; he's turning into a cavefish. Watch an early Fox episode, and then one from Kids' WB, and you can watch his eyes evolving away.
There are also oodles of aliens, monsters, and stupids in Gotham, too, which doesn't help. But no Sun? Feh!

Gotham City, it's located in New Jersey.
'Nuff said. :p
Southpark.
People die there so much that it's not even funny.
Okay..so maybe it is funny, :p but that doesn't change the fact that if it really WAS a place..you'd have to have some kind of deathwish to want to go there.
Gotham City would be a cool place to vist..except for the crazy lunatic villians...and the mugging...and well...yea.
Southpark's still worse though!

I Wouldn't Live In South Park, No Matter What. I Honestly Can't Imagine People Going There For Anything.
Also, Any City That Suffers Huge, Caotic Explosions Regularly.

Definitely Metropolis , I see it like this, who's a bigger threat, Darkseid? or the Penguin?

Heh, I was thinking of that ad when I saw the poll too, Sharklady.
I agree with the opinion that Townsville wouldn't be too bad, since nobody really gets hurt... there's just lots of (quickly repaired) property damage and inconvenience. It would at least be entertaining.
I was between Gotham and South Park... I picked Gotham in the poll, but, on reflection, I would probably have changed my vote to South Park.

I would have to say "West City" (DBZ)... there is always a Galatic Overlord killing everyone there...
Tokyo-3 Might be fun.. Considering that at the time it came out, I probley would have been in Shinji's class.. which means, Eva Unit Pilot

I change my mind to "Satan City" (DBZ) because of the demon threats they face there. Who would want to live in the same city as Mr. Satan?
