View Full Version : Do you think we'll ever get to see Unmasked?

I must say that each day the chances of Unmasked getting an airdate becomes remotely slimmer. Now reports are flying in that Batman Beyond is dead as of now! And won't be on KWB this fall (even in reruns). I don't think getting a copy of Unmasked will be as easy as we got copies of the Uncut ROTJ! To my knowledge there aren't any video stores that pick up early copies of television episodes to preview it (How the Uncut ROTJ began). Even if Cartoon Network picks up BB in reruns, do you think they would show Unmasked (Being KWB didn't air it)? Who knows! Very sad that BB had to end on this note. Seems like it was a huge successful, but after the ROTJ Censorship fiasco everything fell apart!

Whether CN plays it would rather depend on the contract they sign(ed) with WBA to get the reruns. I don't see that CN would want to avoid showing it, just because KWB didn't. But if WBA is only going to sell them "aired" episodes, that might play merry havoc with us ever getting "Unmasked."
For those who know: I've seen it said here that Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries had an "unaired" episode. Did that show ever go off-network to another outlet (Nick, say), and if so did the unaired ep run there?

We'll get to see it. Batman Beyond will surely go to CN, and they'll show the unaired ep there. That's what they did with the "lost" episode of Freakazoid. We'll just have a long wait... jerks.

Which was the "lost" F! episode?

I think it was the very last episode made, the one where all the villians get together to blow a horn that'll rip F! apart, and it guest-starred some PBS carpenter.

I think it would be impossible to keep this unaired episode under wraps for too long. The public demand to see it is too great, it will either show up on CN or on DVD. Either way, I just hope it's sooner than later.

I'm sure CN will air it. It's typical for KWB go give shows such shoddy treatment when theyre on the way out from the network. I'm not sure where SYLVESTER & TWEETY ended up in the US, but the "lost" episode has aired up here in Canada on TELETOON. I'm not suprised KWB will likely be booting out BB so quickly.

I don't think it'll ever air on TV..here's my theory:
When we get the Batman Beyond Season DVD's (with that new technology Calhoun posted about on the DVD board, they can now fit 10 hours onto one DVD..so that means like 1 DVD for each season). Then for the 3rd DVD (I'd love it if the set only cost like $50...), which would be Season 3, it'd have the last episode "Unmasked"..which..I'm sure everybody would watch first..lol.
That's my theory..and gosh darnit..I hope it comes true!

I like your theory Bird Boy, and I hope that 10 hour DVD technology gets in the hands of consumers soon! but that's a whole different discussion! I meant to say in my previous post that no "lost" episode remains lost for very long. They have a way of surfacing one way or another.
In a kinda off topic but related subject, there is a "lost" episode of Seinfeld, the one that took place during the Hispanic parade in New York. I watched that in prime time when it first aired and now I guess it will never be shown on TV...AGAIN! I hope that one surfaces on a DVD too someday!

I'd love to see this ep in beautiful DVD format sans the KWB corner logo. There's a slim chance it'll air and come to DVD...hey it could happen!

At this point I'd bank money on that we will see it on DVD before we will see it on TV. I hope I am wrong, but at this point it looks rather hopeless they will air the episode at all.

Can someone remind me when BB is supposed to surface on CN?

The show was originally set to hit the next in fall 2002. Now it appears CN'll get it earlier.

I personally bellive that Rebirth will be the first episode ever aired on Cartoon Network for various reasons:
The First Episode
They have to introduce the series
I think they will go in order down the line.

RTE, a channel in Ireland are currently running BB Season 3 (currently about to air The Call Part 1)
They will most likely be airing Unmasked when it is time to do so according to the episode list.
The same channel aired some TNBA episodes before WB in 1998 when Kids WB were messing about again.
If it does air before the US I'll be sure to send some caps to DG and an episode description

BrianUK - You lucky dog. ;) Well, since I'm in Scotland, it looks like it'll be around Hallowe'en time before Season 3 hits mainland UK...
