First of all, Cartman, welcome to the board! I hope you'll enjoy what we discuss here!
Second, your poll was a tough one! I could have chosen the early years when Bugs was coming into his own, but I had to choose the 1947-1952 years. I really think Bugs came into his own here, mainly because almost every Bugs cartoon from this period is a gem.
My favorites from this period are:
Mississippi Hare
Which is Witch
Hillbilly Hare
Hare Splitter
Hurdy Gurdy Hare
Mutiny on the Bunny
My least favorite:
Rabbit Every Monday
I love Cheesy Poofs,
We love Cheesy Poofs!
If we didn't like Cheesy Poofs,
We'd be lame!!!:D

40-46 gets my vote. I don't know why, but I really like Bugs' cartoons from that period. Maybe because he was still fresh and young, all the directors did great with him, plus we got Clampett's Bugs cartoons in that period, too. 47-53 gets in a close second vote.

"Hare Ribbin'"
"Buckaroo Bugs"
"Herr Meets Hare"
"Hare Conditioned"
"Baseball Bugs"
"The Big Snooze"

My favs are 1953-1960:
"Bully for Bugs"
"Rabbit Rampage"
"Show Biz Bugs"
"Baton Bunny"
What do ya know, another thread from the dead...
I chose 40-47, though I really like all Bugs cartoons made up to about 1955-56, with several great ones after that (usually the ones with Sam). I chose the first one because it has such a glut of great cartoons, IMO. Like:
Wabbit Twouble
Wackiki Wabbit
Super Rabbit
Fresh Hare
Baseball Bugs
The Old Grey hare
Rhapsody Rabbit
Hare Trigger
Bugs Bunny Nips The Nips
Falling Hare
Hold the Lion, Please
Bugs Bunny Bond Rally/ Any Bonds Today?
Hare Tonic
Herr Meets Hare
The Heckling Hare
A Wild Hare
Hiawatha's Rabbit Hunt
Tortoise Beats Hare
Bugs Bunny Gets The Boid
Little Red Riding Rabbit
and many many more...
Jack :D
Nips the Nips:
great scene with the "GOOD RUMOR" truck
handing out ice cream bars with grenades inside.
"Business is booming" and when the fella who returns
with a get one free stick. Classic stuff

I chose the first one, featuring Clampett's great woik! :)
The second is a close second, though, with Chuck Jones in his element (though my personal favorite era of Jones in general is the 1940s).

1940-46, because IMHO, Bugs' cocky personality always played best against the WWII backdrop, big band-flavored musical soundtracks and all. (Postwar, his wiseacre attitude was nicely preserved, but excepting those shorts where Yosemite Sam was around, a growing blandness could be seen and felt setting in around "that Oscar-winning rabbit.")

I have to go with the '47-'52 period.
The transitional Bugs is fascinating to me.
And of course, Chuck's work is my favorite:)

I voted '47-'52 also..."Homeless Hare," "Mississippi Hare," "Frigid Hare" and all of the duels with Sam are great.
