Thank you for welcoming me to the Termite Terrace!
My questions, although not this time on Looney Tunes, are about the classic Tom and Jerry cartoons.
Does anyone know where "Mammy Two Shoes" got her name? Was she ever given a name in the cartoons? And can someone furnish a list of the cartoons which feature "Mammy"?
One of my local TV stations used to show Tom and Jerry at 7:30 p.m. each weeknight. My dad and I used to watch the show together, and he used to laugh so hard while watching the cartoons that tears would almost run down his face! My dad passed away a few years ago, and when I watch Tom and Jerry it brings back fond memories of a time when we used to share a love of cartoons.
Thanks again for your hospitality!

She was never named in the cartoons, instead, the people who worked on and described the cartoons called her that (from what I've read). It's a descriptive name.

She was most likely given the name because you never see her face....most of the time all you see is her feet, hence the name.

I have a video with an unaltered "Saturday Evening Puss", a little dirty but good color, on it if you're missing that one.
