Not sure I can name ten choices, but favorite supporting characters include Moe (probably my most favorite), Principal Skinner, Apu, and Krusty... my choices being more old-school (pre-season-8/9 or so) than the others on the list, I suppose.

Its definately the old guys that rule the Simpsons :D From Granpa's insane ramblings on every subject and all the bizarre situations he gets in ("I'm cold, and there are wolves after me!", turning into a woman without his pills, etc...) to the maniacal Mr. Burns, and Hans Moleman with his priceless moments like 'Man Getting Hit in Crotch By Football' and "I was saying Boo-urns!", little comes close ;)

Actually, they are seen apart. I can think of at least one ep where they were apart- when Homer leaves because he thinks Marge loves Marty, Lenny joins him whilst Carl (who was in the toilet at the time) stays at Moe's.

Those French guys who were Bart's foreign exchange parents on "Crepes of Wrath" (they appeared in a Parisian apartment on the episode where Homer uses Lisa to gamble on football games even though in "Crepes of Wrath", they were arrested for putting anti-freeze in wine and abusing Bart).
