View Full Version : Does anyone else hate TNN and their CSI/Jessie commercials?

Other than the fact that TNN plays everything into the ground so it's easy to become annoied by them, but does anyone just hate them for the annoying garbage that they are?

I hate the little rich white punk hip hop kid who thinks he's all that. How many times has that gimick been done?

He gets high
He'll do klingon females
He has his beeper go off during a job interview over and over

How did this guy even get the job? Yes I know it's fantasy but it's still annoying

Now let's take CSI some show that's been on the air and air the first season on TNN like it's the best show ever. I just love TNN and all of their hand me down shows

Those Jesse commercials are funny the first, maybe two times I see them, but after that I just get sick of seeing them.

Maybe I just watch too much TNN (and its evil black bar!)

I never quite got the point of the black bar, all it really does is block the screen. Another thing that they did is not show the infamous "child-molestation" arc of Diff'rent Strokes, thats the funniest part if the whole series. They did resurrect American Gladiator's, though, that scores them some points. The ad's wouldn't be so annoying if they didn't air them every 30 seconds. It's like Adult Swim with the new Juicy Fruit ad (which they showed about 30 times in three hours).

Finally, someone else hates these commercials too. First, "We Got Pop" ( I never want to hear those people again, especially when some woman talks about how she loves Patrick Stewart's butt), then Star Trek:TNG episodes over and over and over again (including "special marathons"), then Star Trek commercials over and over and over again, then this.

The worst thing is when they ruined The Godfather with those dance club commercials with the techno music. I actually had my jaw opened with shock just like this  .

One thing did make me laugh though: When the caller (if it's a real person and not an actor, I'm LMAO) introduced TNN by saying "This is Heather from umm Tampa". SNL or MAD TV needs to spoof them.

I could bash TNN all day long. Why do they play every show they have over and over and over?

Actually I find the Pop ones less annoying than the current campaign

I always thought she was saying

"This is Heather from Manchester.." I'll have to go back a listen to a few of my Vice eps

They try praising CSI yet they have a character in one of those commercials who has no idea who the star is (and another, possibly the same character, who doesn't care about the show).

BTW, are these commercials suppose to be funny??

Looks like the commercials worked. They're supposed to be stupid, so that you'll watch them, because they're so stupid that they've got you watching and talking about it so that someone who hasn't seen them will go watch TNN to see the stupid commercials and therefore giving TNN ratings. ;)

They're not trying to make them smart or anything, just cheaply drawing in ratings.

It doesn't excuse them for ruining movies (they even gave the death count for a bunch of movies one time). There is no question that TNN is the worst channel on basic cable.

SLIPKNOT, please continue to make fun of them. You'll provide more "kick butt action" (worst phrase ever thanks to a TNN viewer) than they could.

I hate CSI period. I watched 2 episodes and it wasn't that impressive to me.

This tragic excuse for a channel has been happening ever since they undeservedly got RAW. I take a bathroom break, or get something to drink or change the channel any time a commercial shows up. Not even RAW can save them. The New The National Network is a joke that isn't even worth laughing at.

TNN sucks big time. The only thing I ever watch on that crappy channel is WWE RAW.

BLACKHEART

Whenever RAW goes to a break anymore I find myself turning the channel. I watch RealTV sometimes and I have to do the same. These spots are really driving me insane

Most of the commercials don't even make sense like the one, "We're going to Vegas Bob" over and over and over and over

Remember that episode of Family Guy where Peter saw the bus with Hanson pulling up and he bought out a shotgun?? I would do the same thing if "Pop Across America" ever showed up here.

And WHY do they insist on calling themselves the new TNN. It was cool when they first did their channel overhaul last year...but now its just stupid of them to call themselves that. They aren't new anymore, they haven't done anything new, and they certainly don't play new programming....so what's so new about them? I don't even see the point of calling themselves that, like how will it help them to call themselves that.

Ugh, just thinking about it gives me a headache. I feel stupid for this channel existing...

I don't really mind the commercials too much. There are other commercials on many other networks that bug me a whole lot more. The 700 Club on ABC Family bugs me, as does countless Powerpuff Girls episodes on CN everyday, as does MTV as a whole (or hole...depending on my mood), as does my local FOX affiliate having their news always run into the scheduled Seinfeld ep every night, as does....... Basically I'll jusat watch something else.
As for TNN overall, it's not the worst thing out there. I don't mind TNG on as much as they show it. It's nice to be able to watch many of those episodes. I don't care for wrestling at all so that has no attraction for me. The game show "Oblivious" is very entertaining. 99% of the time, I'm watching something else on another channel that is more appealing than what is on every other channel anyway.

JTurner954

TNN would be WAY more entertaining if instead of playing "You're watching TNN" calls, they played the phone calls of actual people who hate their channel and/or cursed them out.

"The NEW TNN"

I actually read a story about that in USA Today (SLIPKNOT reads USA today? WTF?) Settle down I was waiting for something

Anyways the name of the channel is actually "The NEW TNN" Yes that's right. They actually consider their own name to be "The NEW TNN"

The reason being they want to distance themselves from what the channel used to be so by saying "The NEW TNN" they think you'll forget all about the tractor pulls and country music and watch Star Trek.

It makes them "hip"

czyznyck99

More like "hip"po's excrement  , but then I'd be insulting the hippo.

True true

So TNN has what?

Star Trek TNG
V.I.P
Baywatch
and now C.S.I

4 shows I've never watched nor do I plan to. Put WWE and Real TV in between these shows and I've just summed up a weeks worth of programs for the NEW TNN. You got to love it

Dark Spider

You know, I actually did forget about the old TNN style with the rodeos and country music. How long ago was that, like 2 years right?

But its still stupid to call themselves the new TNN. When they changed their network, they didn't call themselves the new TNN then....so why all of a sudden do it a year later when they're not new anymore?

Its pointless...

JTurner954
09-12-2002, 11:43 AM
Speaking of pointless, Robot Wars has a disclaimer saying "Building robots is dangerous". Too bad they couldn't add "this show is pointless". Oh, and they still show rodeos and monster trucks since they have "Action Saturday" which contains WWE Velocity (and yes, they promote it during commercials).

SLIPKNOT, how about adding some more insults to TNN??

BLACKHEART
09-12-2002, 12:14 PM
I don't even know where to begin to insult them.

WWE RAW is their best show yet they are no longer allowed to run over more than 5 minutes for C.S.I a show that is a rerun show.

TNN killed ECW with censor ship.

I hardly ever watch the Saturday night shows. I taped them one week and came home to find a rerun. The WWE does reruns? Since when?

I'm immature so anymore when TNN goes to break, I go to another room or change the channel so I won't be bothered with their nonsense.

Last night I was flipping thru and I don't even know what happened in the commercial, nor do I really want to but that Jesse guy was walking around a hotel room naked. Why the hell is that going to make want to watch one of their shows?

I sill say the one where the guy says he'll have sex with a Klingon woman is the most stupid commercial in the history of TV. I didn't even find it funny and I normally find disturbing content funny.

And Spider they think by telling you over and over that it's new that you will tell your friends it's new and that they will tell their friend it's new and everyone will watch the NEW TNN. Everyone wants something when it's new.

czyznyck99
09-12-2002, 01:43 PM
Okay, I will say one decent thing about TNN. I think the promos they did last year for Star Trek were pretty funny. The one with Data and Tasha Yar, for example. And the one with the bus.

...But that WAS a year ago, eveything else stank.

All I know is that the only show that I sometimes tune in for now that they removed Miami Vice from the schedule is WWE Raw..

other than that the network sucks and they have that stupid balck bar that serves no friggin purpose other than to annoy people by squishing the screen.

Has anyone ever looked at the black bar and said...ooh I did not know that I was watching V.I.P...I am so glad that TNN has the black bar

BLACKHEART

Come on guys the black bar rules. Without it you might get the 4 shows they have confused

czyznyck99
09-13-2002, 12:53 AM
Honestly, at least on sensible networks they don't tell you you what you are constantly watching, so if you happen to see something new, you stick around for a while. But I go to TNN, see it's VIP, and say "Hey, this sucks, moving on..."

Come TNN, show a little TV spunk.

Actually, the black bar doesn't squish the screen....it actually blocks out the bottom portion of the screen. An even better reason to hate that thing...

Knock on wood, you all notice that WWE progams don't have the black bar right? Vince probably told them NO
