Some guys have all the luck. Some guys have all the fame. I don't know who said it, Confucious or Rod Stewart, but this is one Cartoon Network contest the fans CAN'T enter, but it does sound nice!
CN announced Monday that they're conducting a contest for ad-agency media planners and buyers to promote the upcoming late-night block aimed at adults known as "Adult Swim." In case you've been under a rock or gone on vacation (if you were hiking in a rocky retreat, you could have done both), Adult Swim will have adult-oriented comedic shorts, including new episodes of Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and the awesome anime series Cowboy Bebop, which will be, according to those involved, VERY LIGHTLY edited.
Anywho, back to the contest. Time buyers and planners of accounts that advertise to or aim promotions at adults 18 through 34 will be vying for a five-day/four-night trip for 10 to stay at the fabulous Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. The winners of the grand-prize drawing will also get tickets to an aquatic-themed performance by Cirque du Soleil at the hotel. Talk about going all out!
To enter, the contest participants must watch an Adult Swim highlights video sent to them and, in the process, find the secret code within those clips from seven original series created for that late-night block. That code -- which is their password for the contest -- must be included when the advertising folks submit accompanying entry postcards.
They're going all out to attract ad agencies. Guess Adult Swim IS as important as the fans thought afterall!
