And it's not good...everyone knows that it's being delayed, but now it looks like Superman and Batman's solo movies will probably be out first...here is what I found at Batman vs. Superman.com...

"The Latest Word is, as of late August, 2002, the film is in limbo. Warner Brothers hated the script, and Wolfgang Peterson and J.J. Abrams are both off on other projects. The Batman & Superman solo projects have a better chance of coming to the big screen first!"

Is anyone else disturbed about this...I would liked to have seen Batman vs. Superman first...I think this is a bad idea! And plus...since WB hated the script chances are the movie will never be made anyway...and knowing the stupid WB, it's probably a great script...because WB is more interested in scripts like "Batman & Robin" these days!! Comments?

I for one, am happy that it's been scratched! We all know they were gonna cast the wrong actors to play bats & supes anyway & the story was probably gonna be corny anyway!I would rather they make a few direct to video DK/man of steel animated teamups with tons of guest heroes & villans. I have no faith that WB will care to find the right actors to portray our MOS & DK or a plot that is faithful to thier characters, so why bother getting excited? I prefer more animated supes & bats cuz at least they do that right! But live action? Don't think so. :)

It hasn't been scratched, just shelved...and furthur more, I think that the very fact that WB didn't like the script is because it was actually a good script...the WB is so stupid when it comes to making feature films, I wouldn't put it past them. The like to make dumb movies...just like the last one! Plus, just because they are in line to play the World's Finest heroes doesn't mean they'll get the final cut. (I'm hoping at least Josh Hartnett will be out) This movie was probably going to be the best DC movie that WB made in a long time.

I don't think we should talk about the WB only liking "bad" scripts, because none of us have actually read the screenplays for any of these upcoming Superman/Batman projects.

I would actually prefer to see the new Superman movie and Batman: Year One before Batman vs. Superman. Individually, they would be more interesting as predecessors to the teamup movie (even though they're all from different creative teams). Let today's audiences get reacquainted with the characters before you go teaming them up.

I'd much rather see a solo Batman and/or Superman film come out first, then a team up film later. These are two huge, great creations, and before they appear together, I really think they need to remake themselves first. Both Batman and Superman need new movies, something better then the ones already made, something to breath life into these two characters' movie careers. Solo movies are a great way to do this, and once that goes, and hopefully goes well, then would be the best time to bring in Batman vs Superman. They're fresh now, better then ever, on solid ground after starring in their own movie, so now they're perfect to go head to head and co-star. At least that's how I see it and would prefer things went.

I really don't care. As long as I get to see a new Batman movie, solo or not, it's all good. :)

I always wanted the YEAR ONE film to come out first, and ditto for a solo Superman film, so maybe now that's gonna happen. I want this movie to happen, hell yeah - just not yet. :)

I can sort of understand everybody's opinions, I just hope that the other Batman and Superman movies don't just get shelved. I can just see that happening.

I for one think this is a great idea . Hopefully there is a new Casting Director who knows the comics and would never make Josh Harnett Superman or Brandon Fraser.I mean anyone with eyes can see these 2 actors are horrible choices. Come on GO UNKNOWN ACTORS. Christopher Reeves was an unknown actor at the time of Superman.

Good I thought this project should have been shelved from the start. Both solo movies have more chance of success..

Interesting that Warners thought the script stank - that perhaps is the single ray of evidence that the film might have been alright...

I could really care less. It could be any of them, I just want to see a new DC Comics movie no matter who it is!!! I better watch myself there, though- my saying that will assure the Wonder Twins get to the big screen first :p

This is a great thing! I was never wild about this project from the getgo, and I'd much rather see a solo movie for each of them first. Actually, in the ideal situation, I'd like to see a Year One adaptation, and a Superman For All Seasons adaptation. From there, make 2 more good Supes and Bats movies, get 2 great trilogys, and THEN tie them together with a Worlds Finest type movie.

I agree. Anyway, Hollywood changes so fast that "Batman & Robin" is ancient history by this point. There is actually a totally new management team in place at WB now, so we have no real basis for prospectively bashing its script choices.
