View Full Version : Speaking of weird dreams...

You know; since I haven't been here very long (Or haven't contributed stuff often), you'd think that I would forget this place in my sleep.
But nooooo. Feel special :p
I dreamt last night that I was on the computer lurking around this board as usual. Only there was a new rule: You couldn't ever EVER leave the board. No logging out. No closing the window.
Then the board was a place....some sort of museum with lots of escalators, and glass windows... I think it was the Canadian Museum of Civilization. I don't know how it works, just trust me.
So I run around a couple times and have some fun, but quickly get bored. I meet other "board members", who look like the shaved-headed kids from Dark Angel (Weird, since I've only seen one episode of Dark Angel, but meh)
But of course the old rule still stands: No one EVER leaves the place.
It suddenly becomes of utmost importance to find a way to leave the message board. I run upstairs, downstairs, even into a creepy drippy basement, that I'm PRETTY sure the actual museum doesn't have. But oh well. I meet grimy "freedom fighters" along the way.
Eventually I found out that there were "secret passageways" that led to patches of shadows where, for some reason, if you stand under them, made you "disappear".
Naturally, this becomes the goal. Equally naturally, the doors that led to these places were guarded. But I took a chance anyway, and made a bolt for one of them- just as a certain "Maxie Zeus" was walking down the hallway with lots of guards. Sorry, Maxie- in my dream, you look like the blue fat Queen from Final Fantasy 9.
Now I'm outside! Quick, run for the shadow! A teacher from my school stops me, but is taken off-guard when I..um...moon her.
For some reason, I took Jackie from That 70's show with me. I have no idea why. Her character is so annoying.
So Jackie and I are waiting in the shadows for an opening to run away (Jackie's whining a lot but I'm not paying attention). Huzzah! A bus. We run to the bus to find it empty, but after it picks us up, it rolls away.
Cut to scene with the computer. I click "log out", I instantly get an email saying I did something illegal and I'm now banned for life. The screen turns white, and I can't click anything.
Cut back to "real world" scene. We are now in the "real world". For some reason, we need jobs and apartments and stuff. I am walking to Jackie's apartment, which is really really expensive and posh-looking. She's made it as a successful and world-reknown model. On the way down the escalators, I spot a group of forum goers- I remember the names "Dick Grayson" and "Nightwing"- sitting by a table talking about escaped members. I push Jackie down and duck. Ahahahaha- They all look like Buffy the Vampire Slayer Watchers. Dick Grayson looks like Jude Law in an ugly suit.
I walk around downtown, looking at tacky clothes store, and run into real-life friends of mine. All who are still members of the Tonezone forums, and are very very rich (with estates and stuff) and much more successful than me. But wait a minute- aren't people from the board not allowed to leave? That part confused me.
Depressed, I make it back to my apartment, which is small, but actually quite cute and homey. I take heart in it. Then I woke up.
My subconscious works in strange ways....
(By the way, this doesn't reflect in no way on how I think of the board. It was just something weird to share with anyone who's interested. Maxie, I don't think you're a fat ugly blue Queen. Really!)
(Ugh...my grammar has gone straight to hell since school ended)

Interesting. I wonder what it means? Since we had a topic on dreams that were being interpreted, I dare say this one will be delved into as well....
....but is there something you wanna get out of in real life? Maybe that's what your subconcious was trying to tell you when you said you could not get out of the boards.
As for Maxie, well, he's a mod, so I suspect that's where the guards came from (all together now: DUH, B.B.!:D ).
It's a funky dream. Perhaps it's trying to warn you about the mods? ;)
Anyway, that's my 2 pennies on it....

Hmmm, interesting. Is your mind using your daily interests to paint a veiled portrait of your subconscious fears and desires? Or is your imagination just doing cool things?
Oh, Kylewaaaaaayne... :)

Well, clearly, in some subconscious sense you do! ;) And now I know what new avatar I should be looking for.
That's a really interesting dream. kylewayne should be along at some point to interpret it, since she has the book.

Kylewayne, eh?
And as for Huzzah...I dunno. I think I heard my friend say it once and picked it up there, but I'm not sure. It's sort of like "meh"...everyone says it. Where did it come from?

That's a strange dream, we're all stuck here forever? So what happens if DG bans us?

Wow! that was a funny dream Nightflower especially the part where Maxie is a "blue fat Queen" from final fantasy 9. :D
Well, since you escaped from the confinement of the "evil" ;) moderators :D this dream is telling you that whatever difficulties you will face they will be short term and a rapid rise in the world. If you also dreamed of others in captivity with you or in the same situation as you... it signifies freedom from worry. :)
The drippy basement signifies that you need to be firm about refusing plans which don't appeal to you.
The bus in your dream symbolizes progress towards your heart's desire.
the characters from Dark Angel, the 70's show etc...is what your subconscience and you found amusing or that particular scene got engraved in your mind which your subconscious played out in your dream. After all the mind at rest works in mysterious ways.
As for seeing "rich" moderators such as DG means the opposite actually. You will benefit financialy these couple of days.
Being or feeling depressed in a dream means that you will have a reason to celebrate soon with loved ones.
All in all this dream in the outcome is a good positive dream. your fears and anxiaties are what brought this dream about and your dream answered the questions for you telling you that everything will be ok...after a few setbacks.
Hmmm...seeing Maxie as a "blue fat Queen" in this case the feature of this dream had a digestive origin and no significance. ...OR ...Maxie is secretly a man who likes to play dress-up :D (sorry couldn't resist ! :p)
:D :D :D :D

LOL!
Some one send me an image of this "fat blue queen." I'm not sure what this thing looks like, and I'd like to use it as an avatar!

Maxie, I was wondering what the hell that was in your avatar! Then I read this thread!
That is just down right scary. Had enough yet?
I have yet to have a dream about the boards....

You can keep it for a couple of days. It's just really ugly. But i'm w/ Cal, i had no idea what was up w/ your avatar until i read this. I just glad there is an explaination. And it's not a particularly weird one, like i may have expected.;)

I can't fault you, Maxie! I would have probably done the same if somebody had a dream about me from the boards and saw me as something unusual in their dream!

Those horns on the Blue Queen's helmet look like they weigh about 20 lbs. apiece. It's a wonder she doesn't have a devil of a headache with all that pressure on her shoulders and neck....

Actually, I think they're tassels (that's a detail I extracted from a larger pic) and I think I'm going to change it pretty soon. Some people have told me privately they like it, but the naysayers are a lot more vehement.

Why didn't they come to your defense on the AniGen board if they liked it so much! :)
You know the first time I saw it, I scrutinized it because I knew there was a theme to your avatars and I just couldn't see what this had to do with Zeus. Maybe that's why people didn't like it so much, it broke the mold. Oh, well, some of my avatars have been more short lived than others too, it's all good.

Problem is, there are very few zeus images online, and most of them are pretty crappy (old statues and busts, mostly). I've already used up the decent ones.
I'm thinking of just going the other direction and being random. After all, Zeus being a god, he can incarnate himself as anything he wants, so strictly speaking there is no limit to what I might choose while still retaining my "Zeus" identity. :p

I'm probably gonna sound nosy for suggesting this...really am sorry....
....but why not a bull? Zeus used that form to trick Europa into going out with him....she thought the bull was pretty, and he galoped off with her....
..sorry to go off topic. But I think that'd be an interesting avatar!

--there's also swans and golden showers. Of course, a big muscular dude with a toga, beard and lightning bolt staff tends to stick out in public...who says Zeus isn't walking among us as a nondescript old man? Maybe a nice pic of Abe Vigoda or the late Walter Matthau would do.... ;)

Nice new avatar, Maxie! Back by popular demand!
Also, isnt' Zeus the same god as Odin and there is one other I am trying to think of, I think.......but couldn't an image of Odin also do as well as an image of Zeus?

Odin is Norse (I'm pretty sure) while Zeus is Greek. They're roughly equivalent, but I don't think they are "the same" the way Jupiter and Zeus are supposed to be. They're parts of different mythologies.
You know, when TNP closed we lost our thread for discussing avatars.

Perhaps we should start an avatar thread? It wouldn't hurt, but do you think people would visit it? Of course, we wouldn't want it going on and on, but if it only got three or four replies a day, what would it hurt?

Didn't TNP start with just '3 or 4' replies? :p
I wanna get a pic of Lucky Bob from H! for my avatar....but I'm to lazy to get the work done for a pic. Oh well!
Yeah, Zeus and Odin are different deities. My vote goes to Zeus being the cooler one, though.

Yeah, I think it could be fun, but better run it by the Mods first. I don't want them to think we are trying to start up some neverending thing again. We aren't. It would be no more neverending than the pop thread, for example. I don't think people would post on it very much.

Actually, TNP started as a place to go if you had nothing else to do on the boards...at all...and wanted to post something totally off topic and useless. If it had remained a thread for that exclusively, instead of becoming a chat room in slow motion, I doubt it would have been closed. At least so soon. An avatar thread would HAVE to remain ON TOPIC to avoid it spiraling out of control. That would be important, so it didn't turn into (shudders in horror) TNP2. Which I doubt it would.
