According to Animation World Network, something totally different is coming to Cartoon Network's Adult Swim lineup, courtesy of artist Kenny Scharf and award-winning director of Invader ZIM, Jordan Reichek.

The Groovenians, a computer-animated half-hour special, premieres on Adult Swim Comedy on Sunday, November 24 at 10:30 PM EST/PST The series, inspired by the works of by pop-surrealist Scharf, is about a pair of trouble-making artists who escape the confines of their boring planet and head to a strange planet called Groovenia, a planet filled with wild inhabitants from all over the universe creating art and having fun (in a normal world, we call them bohemian artists). Think the latter half of Tex Avery's "The Cat Who Hated People" pushed to the nth degree.

The Groovenians was written, produced and directed by Jordan Reichek, who won an award for Best Pilot Series or TV Special for the Invader ZIM pilot at Annecy 2000. It also has a unique vocal cast which includes Paul "Pee-Wee Herman" Reubens, Dennis Hopper, RuPaul Charles, Debi Mazar, and Vincent Gallo, among others and a theme song performed by The B-52's
