Hello everyone. Nothing new to report that hasn't already been, so how about a Fresh Question? Yeah, I thought you'd say yes...
Which character in fiction have you been able to relate to most once introduced by his/her TV or movie, etc??

Lisa Simpson. Both she and I are rather depressed people, and nothing ever seems to go right for us....plus, we both get ignored a lot in school (but I'm not complaining there). But hey, that's just my take....

We're both cynical, self-styled, bespectacled, bland-voiced individuals who live in a word seemly populated by morons and troglodytes. We both play harmonica, enjoy good literature, and like to write.

If I saw a character on screen I could "really relate to" I'd running screaming from the theater.

Father Ted and Basil Fawlty.
How depressing....

Daria and Trent Lane. The sarcasm of Daria teamed with the laziness and lack of enthusiasm of Trent. Not that I'm overly lazy and sleep all the time, but that's who I relate to best...

I only wish I was anything like Trent. Yeah some of his personality traits I could do without. For example I like to keep prepared and on the ball as much as I can. But that's trivial, of course, compared to his really great character. I wish I was half as cool and laid back as he is.
The character in fiction I found I can relate to most is without a doubt, Peter Parker. Ever since Spiderman: 94-97 it was easy to see. He's a strong willed person, but very young and lacking in experience. He wants to do the right thing, and tries, but still struggles immensly like so many of us. Oh, that and he's a friggin dork. Can't leave out that part. :)

If anybody here's seen a British series called 'Spaced', I can very much relate to the frustrated artist/illustrator working in a comic shop... 'cos that's EXACTLY what I was for longer than I care to remember...

Hmmm...don't usually relate to characters personally, tho I have an affinity for every outcast type character that exists, I think. I can think of a character in The Wonder Years, of all things (since I generally dislike the show) with whom I related in memory of my teen years--the girl who loved bats and whom everyone scorned and made fun of. That episode and the memories it brings back can always make me teary eyed.

That's exactly why I hate The Wonder Years. It makes me remember all those awkward things that happened to me. I practically get panic attacks just watching it, at the same time thinking about when that exact thing happened to me. It's depressing realizing what a dork you were/are. Who wants to remember that? *shudders*

Jane from Daria. We both hang out with a person who is cynical, self-styled and sarcastic just like Daria. I can relate to Jane cuz she and I don't hang with the in-crowd, we are self styled, love to draw as a hobby, we both are sarcastic, we don't care about what people think or say about us and her attitude is similar to mine. :D

I've always thought of myself as some sort of amalgam of both Dobie Gillis and Maynard G. Krebs from the old 1950s show "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis". So much of that show has made me who I am today, oddly enough.

Good question. Maybe Hawkeye Pierce from the TV M*A*S*H, Angel for his broodiness (cuz I like to brood), or Dean Cain's version of Clark Kent from "Lois and Clark."
