View Full Version : What could be some new Cartoon Theater movies?

I'm sure everyone else here is as sick as me of seeing the same movies repeated on Cartoon Theater over and over. The same Scooby movies keep repeating. Here's some movies I'd like to see:

Twice Upon A Time (this has been on before, but not in a very long time, Lorenzo Music was in it so I've been thinking about it lately)

Phantom Tollbooth (I dunno who has rights to this, MGM or WB)

Iron Giant

Cat's Don't Dance

Mr. Magoo's 1001 Arabian Nights

Banjo the Woodpile Cat

Secret of NIMH

An American Tail (Didn't they used to show this? Bring it back.)

There are some others I'd like to see (Nightmare Before Christmas, James & Giant Peach) but those are Disney owned, so no chance in hell they'll get shown.

Feel free to add any others you think you would like to see below. Personally, I think that any non-Disney stuff could be shown, no matter who currently owns it, but add whatever you want.

Here's a few I'd like to see on the schedual (more for other's sake than mine; I've got 'em on video):

'The Last Unicorn'

'Watership Down'

Any fairytale by Lightyear Studios, esp. 'The Snow Queen'

Raymond Briggs' 'The Snowman'

Raymond Briggs' 'The Bear'

'The Man Who Planted Trees' (this one would probably have to be shown in the later hours. Not for adult content [far from it!], but for a level of sublety only some grownups would appreciate.)

(1) Chicken Run (maybe with Wallace and Gromit, sort of a claymation double feature)
(2) Titan A.E.
(3)Beavis and Butt-Head Do America (well, with Adult Swim coming, it's not that inconcievable)
(4) Tom and Jerry: The Movie (I want to see it just to determine if it's as bad as I'm told)
(5) How I Spent My Summer Vacation, as well as its spring break and Halloween follow-ups, which haven't seen the light of day in years (in the former, Pinky and the Brain appear in a cameo for the first time with Elmyra, and Brain by himself in the latter)

How about Max Fleischer's Gulliver's Travels and Hoppity Goes to Town (a/k/a Mr. Bug Goes to Town). They could have a Fleischer Double Feature.

I have always been fond of Rankin/Bass animation, and would love to see Willy McBean and His Magic Machine someday.

Of course, anything would be better than the 700th showing of Rover Dangerfield or Scooby-Doo On Zombie Island ...

As I posted in the old news section of Toon Zone, Dreamworks and Turner came into agreement that Turner nets would be the exclusive cable homes for their movies for several years to come. This includes Shrek, Chicken Run among others, on Cartoon Network.

I don't know if they own the rights to it, but I'd like them to show "Bugs Bunny Superstar."

And what about the other Charlie Brown movies? I never liked the camping one they show all the time, I'd rather they show "Snoopy Come Home."

Have they ever shown "Hey There It's Yogi Bear?" Or how about that Lion Witch and Wardrobe movie?

The Dexter movie is "Ego Trip," they used to show it on Cartoon Theater regularly, but I don't know about now, I never watch it anymore. Cartoon Theater is Booring now, I can only take so much Scooby Doo, it's driving me insane.

What about "Space Jam?" Has that ever shown up on TV?

Snoopy Come Home and Bon Voyage Charlie Brown were two of my favorite Peanuts movies when I was a kid. I'd love to see those again.

"Space Jam" has been showed on TNT numerous times. However, since it also has live-action in it, I don't think Cartoon Network will ever show it.

Just what's wrong with "Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island"? I bet the shirt off my back (and more) that this will end up much more entertaining than that live-action crapfest that is to be released next year.

Also, I am very surprised that CN doesn't have the rights to "The Secret of N.I.M.H.".

It would be very gratifying to see "Bugs Bunny, Superstar" (I haven't seen it since I was a kid) and the "Tiny Toons" specials.

And why don't they show "Cats Don't Dance"?!

Well, I think there's nothing wrong with it, it's okay. But there is something wrong with showing it about every other weekend for the past 6 months (possibly slight exaggeration, but that's what it feels like)

Other stuff I'd like

-Animaniacs Star Wars parody

-Chuck Jones' Rikki Tiki Tavi, Mowgli's Brothers, Cricket in Times Square, The White Seal
