I would like to know if you guys think the new spider-man cartoonshould air on nick (as part of it's new action block, SLAM) or air on MTV like it's already planned to? Well considering MTV's shakey track record when it comes to airing cartoons, I'd pick nick. I mean c'mon, besides bevus and butt-head, daria, liquid television, maxx, and the head most mtv cartoons have a short lifespan. Heck, even the maxx and the head only lasted 2 seasons each (12 episodes) and liquid tv also lasted for 2 seasons. Don't get me started on how mtv panders to the lowest common denominator, which would not be appropiate for a spidey cartoon.

Neither.

Cartoon Network for me :D

But I also think Spidey fans will support it so you never know???

MTV: 2 or 3 Seasons

Then CN picks it up for 3 more seasons :D

Neither.

Cartoon Network for me :D

Same here. Both channels destroy good shows.

It just sounds too weird to have a project done by Mainframe Entertainment be on MTV. I would have definately picked Cartoon Network because it has Max Steel and Reboot, or even (shudder) ABC Family...

But I don't know how well it will do on MTV. The multiple airings should give me plenty of chances to watch it, and hopefully they will run full season marathons from time to time like they did with the Tough Enoughs.

Later.

Is MTV having a new animation block or is Spider-Man the only new cartoon series on MTV???

The series will do fine on MTV. However, outside of the Viacom Networks, the network that certainly would want a new Spider-man series the most is ABC Family and not Cartoon Network. It certainly would make a lot of sense to ABC Family since they already own the rights to four Spider-man series, and Disney certainly would want Spidey to be exclusive to their network. Unfortunately, there's some bad blood between Disney and Marvel over the Spider-man Animated series DVDs so I don't believe any new Spider-man series will be going to ABC Family in the near future.

CN. Look at what MTV does! MTV gets rid of cartoons so fast it's not even funny! LOL! Anyway............ Nickelodeon cancels shows like Ren & Stimpy, Aaahh! Real Monsters, Rocko's Modern Life, and Angry Beavers or edits the theme songs like Animaniacs :yakko: :wakko: :dot: (I miss them on the WB and CN) and Pinky & The Brain (I miss them, too)!

I really think mtv can do it.. they have had some good shows in the past the only problem is with animation they have the weirdest seasons... you dont know when they will air it.

I think that MTV will do fine with Spider-Man. I'm assuming that it will show in the 10 spot like all the new shows/seasons start in with the exception of Undressed. I'm sort of glad it's on MTV, so if I miss it the first showing, then I have many chances to catch it again. Just think if it was shown on Nick.

CN definitely would do a better job in handling Spiderman than MTV for sure, IMO. And... yeah. :D

I'd say neither, but nick if I had to pick one. I'd rather watch a decent channel than a crappy one... being with my hatred for MTV and all.

I can see it now... special guest stars Pink as Aunt May, Eminem as J. Jonah Jameson and Carson Daly as Dr. Octupus... and Mysterio changing his name to Bootilicitus. Scary... very scary indeed.

why IS spiderman airing on MTV anyway? it doesn't seem to fit MTV's type of programming.

If i had to pick between the two, I would pick... MTV. They could get away with a little more than Evil Nick could.

I hate MTV

its all Road Rules, Real World, or one of their spin offs. They're either gonna hype Spider Man up soo much you'll get sick of seeing the same episode 10 times a week. (Like they do with Real World or Road Rules) or they'll show it at freaky times and then axe it like they did with all of their other cool cartoons like they used to air. Anything else that is aired on MTV deals with programs that have late teens to early 20's drinking and talking about their sex lives. I don't really see how spidey will fit into that kind of demographic.

I think the reason that Spidey is airing on MTV, and not something that would be way more suitable(i.e. Cartoon Network) is due to the "hip teen" factor. Columbia-Tristar, the current owner of the Spider-Man TV rights, wants to get big exposure on something that will pull in the tween age bracket along with the 18 to 24 year olds, and MTV fits that category perfectly. Unfortunately, if history repeats itself, MTV will screw over yet another animated show and eventaully cancel it.

The funny thing is that Mainframe probably felt like they got shafted by CN with ReBoot, will now probably get screwed yet again under the cruel hand of MTV and the sinister Viacom family of networks.

CN....might make a nice Addition to the Toonami block! Since ABC family owns all the spiderman shows now, and we've already got batman and Superman...Spiderman just seems like it would fit!

Its quite obvious that MTV only picked up the show, because of the movie's success. Now that the Spiderman hype has deminished, they will probubly treat it bad...but they probubly won't give up the rights.....after all, a sequal is being made.
