Gang -

have gotten ALMOST all of the LT/MM's I want, but 'Africa Squeaks' eludes me.

Can anyone provide a synopsis (sp?) and/or recommendation as to pursuing it?

thanks

Happy Dave~

"Africa Squeaks" eludes almost everybody!! 'Course the infamous redrawn version of it was broadcast here for years. Hmmmmm now if YOU just knew someone who taped it back then... Hmmmmm ;) ;)

Well, Nickelodeon used to air the computer colorized version... of course, it was edited down to only 4 and a half minutes. That's all of "Africa Squeaks" I've ever seen.

From Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies By Jerry Beck and Will Friedwald.
"A narrated spot-gag cartoon on jungle life, with guest star Porky Pig. Into the heart of Darkest Africa goes explorer Porky with native guides. The group encounters Spencer Tracy as "Stanley" who presumes the pig is Dr. Livingston.
We see many interesting specimens of wildlife, including a sleepong ostrich with it's head in the ground, but sleeping on a pillow; two lions chewing bones making a wishbone; a brooklyn gorilla; natives blowing darts to put meat on their table, winning it in a carnival game!
Meanwhile Porky can't sleep because of the jungle noise. "Stanley" looks under rocks and in kangaroo pouches for Livingston. An elephant is thrown out of a boarding house, and the landlord keeps his trunk until he pays the rent. A vicious condor flies overhead and preys on some baby deer - who scramble into the bush and shot the bird with a cannon. A native tells Porky of a white man in the jungle, and they take "Stanley" to meet his Livingston. It is "Cake Icr" (Kay Kaiser) and his Kollege of Musical Knowledge who gets the jungle jumping to swing music. The narrator bid Africa farewell, and the Dark Continent responds, in blackface, "Good bye!" "
Pesonally I would love to see this too!
