3. "Scat Cats"
- "MGM CinemaScope Remakes"
1. "The Egg & Jerry"
2. "The Cat's Meow"
3. "Feedin' the Kiddie"
- "Early MGM"
1. "A Tale of the Vienna Woods"
2. "Bosko's Parlor Pranks"
3. "Bosko & the Pirates"
- "The Adventures of Cool Cat"
*3 Cool Cat cartoons*
- "The Newer Looney Tunes"

To "The Newer Looney Tunes" and "Filmation Tom & Jerry," I'd say: Please, no!
But I'd happily second any vote for the rest. :D

Personally, while I like the idea of a "Filmation Tom and Jerry" Toonheads, I won't hold my breath! While not as good as the Hanna-Barbera and Chuck Jones theatricals in terms of production quality, I do think that these cartoons are underrated, and about as good as the Gene Deitch shorts (sometimes they even look almost alike!). I think that these shorts had a unique musical score to them.

Don't forget Millionaire Droopy (1956), which is a remake of Wags To Riches (1948).

I have a couple for you:
1) "Out In The Desert" films, such as Sahara Hare, Ali Baba Bunny, and Aqua Duck (with Little Beau Pepe also a possibility).
2) "Abandon Ship!" films, featuring Mutiny On The Bunny, Tweety's SOS, and Good Noose.
I'll think of others as the ideas generate...

Spike and Tyke, and the Beanstalk, look to be the easiest and most likeliest for them to make.
And, may I also disagree to Filmation's Tom and Jerrys.
I had to sit through them as a kid when they aired on our pre-UPN affiliate. And god, they were horrible. Every single T&J and Droopy toon used the SAME EXACT MUSIC (which sounded like the soundtrack to a porno, if you ask me).
Possibly the only good thing about the Filmation T&Js was the introduction to them. CN cuts out the intro, I believe, but the pre-UPN affiliate showed it. The intro had catchier music and smoother animation than all the actual toons combined.

I've never seen any Filmation T&J's, so I can't say how bad/good they are.
Has Sniffles ever gotten himself an episode?

I think for "The Newer Looney Tunes," they should play cartoons that aren't played on the network very often such as "Pullet Surprise," (which I have to remember airs next Saturday and by that time I will again have access to the Cartoon Network) or "Superior Duck" or "From Hare to Eternity."

I think I may have an idea for an interesting "Toon Heads" ep:
"Fan-Atical!"
Tee Vee Or Not Tee Vee (Augie Doggie)
Do The Bear (Hillbilly Bears)
Autograph Hounded (Cattanooga Cats)
And your idea of a Cool Cat- themed "Toon Heads" is marvelous! But I think that one could be stretched into a full hour by featuring the 5 Cool Cat shorts currently airing on CN (Due to the limitations of time and toon quota, Cool Cat's last short- and the last classic WB theatrical release, which has the same title as the original black-&-white/Computer-Colorized 1938 Porky Pig "Looney Tune"- "Injun Trouble" would be unable to air on that particular show. Unlike a possible Merlin the Magic Mouse-themed hour-long "Toon Heads" which would feature all 5 Merlin shorts on the show. You see, Merlin only appeared in 5 shorts, but Cool Cat had 6.)
Let's see if anyone can come up with "Toon Heads" themed shows that can feature either all Computer-Colorized "Looney Tunes", all late 1960s W7 Technicolor shorts, or even rarely seen classic HB shorts like "Cattanooga Cats". CN- and for that matterBoomerang: The Channel- never aired an individual "Cattanooga Cats" short separate of its series. I recall in CN's early years- the much better era!- they had Motormouse & Autocat, Mildew Wolf, and Finney Fogg appear with their shorts, but never the individual "Cattanooga Cats" shorts! This would be a great opportunity for CN to finally have the "Cattanooga Cats" shorts air on their own, if at least in a few 'Toon Heads" themed eps. :bosko:

I think Injun Trouble really should be shown on CN, at least on Toonheads. They can air it during late night/early morning hours kind of like they did with that one SNAFU cartoon.

Obviously the most suitable place for both toons titled "Injun Trouble" is the "Looney Tunes Show"- Weekday Afternoons and Saturday Mornings!!!
No duh!! :bosko:

Hey Daffyfan2002 -
You mentioned that "Pullet Surprise" was airing "next Saturday." I can't find it showing on CN anywhere? What show/time?

It is attached to the beginning of "Cat's Don't Dance," which I assume is going to air on CN's "Cartoon Theater."

An idea that will never work!
Title: Goopy Geer
"Goopy Geer" (1932)
"Moonlight for Two" (1932)
"The Queen was in the Parlor" (1932)

That would be worse than my worst nightmare. I hate computer colorized versions.

Cartoon Theatre on August 31 at 7pm Eastern/Pacific, as they say.
I think Injun Trouble really should be shown on CN, at least on Toonheads. They can air it during late night/early morning hours kind of like they did with that one SNAFU cartoon.
That Snafu cartoon later aired during primetime.
- "MGM Cinemascope Remakes"
1. "The Egg & Jerry"
2. "The Cat's Meow"
3. "Feedin' the Kiddie"
I would like that because Cartoon Network has avoided them for a long time.
"Fan-Atical!"
Tee Vee or Not Tee Vee (Augie Doggie)
Do the Bear (Hillbilly Bears)
Autograph Hounded (Cattanooga Cats)
Only Hanna-Barbera television cartoons? That does not sound like it would make a good Toonheads episode.
- "Spike and Tyke"
1. "Dog Trouble"
2. "Give and Tyke"
3. "Scat Cats"
I wish I had seen "Scat Cats" long ago, but I'm in no rush.
The Early Works of Harman-Ising (1 hour)
"Smile, Darn Ya, Smile" (1931)
"Red-Headed Baby" (1931)
"Goopy Geer" (1932)
"Young and Healthy" (1933)
"Bosko's Parlor Pranks" (MGM, 1934)
This would be better as a half hour episode.

What was the 2nd "Injun Trouble" about?
Maybe they could fit "Norman Normal" or "The Dot and the Line" in a ToonHeads episode also.
My preference for 30's/early 40's cartoons:
1. B&W -- Who doesn't like the original version?
2. CC - I prefer B&W, but if it's the only way to see it (although I doubt that) I'd watch it.
3. Redrawn - I DESPISE redrawns. If CN EVER shows a Popeye or WB redrawn again I will die (this is not the same for MGM CinemaScope Remakes, as they had new animated scenes).
I like the Goopy Gear idea. The more early classics the better.
Regarding the HB TV shows -- No ToonHeads episodes. CN should do what CN New Zealand does -- every weekend morning a 2-hour mixed bag of those 7-minute HB shorts. Including ones you probably wouldn't remember -- from "Touche Turtle" to "Hokey Wolf" to "Dastardly & Muttley's Flying Machines". Personally, Popeye's/MGM's/WB's do well mixed up, but not with the HB TV shorts. I really see no reason why they can't have their own show as well.

Maybe they could fit "Norman Normal" or "The Dot and the Line" in a ToonHeads episode also. Three 1968 one-shot cartoons, preferably "Norman Normal", "The Door", and "Chimp and Zee" would make a good Toonheads episode. Title? I don't know.
My preference for 30's/early 40's cartoons:
1. B&W -- Who doesn't like the original version? Answer: The three-year-olds that CN expects to be watching during work/school hours.
2. CC - I prefer B&W, but if it's the only way to see it (although I doubt that) I'd watch it. Despite my hatred for computer colorized versions, I have recorded many of them if it was all that was available.
3. Redrawn - I DESPISE redrawns. If CN EVER shows a Popeye or WB redrawn again I will die (this is not the same for MGM CinemaScope Remakes, as they had new animated scenes). I decided last week to never watch or record any redrawns from now on. Sadly, I have a small number of WB and Popeye cartoons only in redrawn form, mainly from 2-3 years ago, when I did not care about it.
After some thought, I agree with that.

Hmph. I showed my 5-yr-old brother a bunch of B&W Looney Tunes and he loved it. :bosko: But, I know other kids hate it.
The one-shots you mentioned -- CN made a "one-time wonders" episode with Michigan J. Frog, Ghost Wanted (an early 40's one-shot!) and Crackpot Quail. However, the ones you mentioned would make a great episode.
Maybe there could be a "Late works of Chuck Jones" with "Dot & the Line" and "Bear that Wasn't". ;)
...Still looking for a T&J video with "Polka-Dot Puss" and "The Lonesome Mouse" on it... :(

"Dot and the Line" was on not too long ago, and "The Bear that Wasn't" is coming up soon (September I think).

Here are some ideas:
Porky and Beans:
"I Haven't Got a Hat"
"Gold Diggers of '49" (B&W)
"Westward Whoa" (Computer Colorized)
Porky in Black and White (One hour, all B&W):
"Plane Dippy"
"Porky the Wrestler"
"Picador Porky"
"Porky's Duck Hunt"
"Porky in Wackyland"
"You Oughta Be in Pictures"
When Daffy was DAFFY (1 hour):
"The Daffy Doc" (B&W)
"Porky's Last Stand" (B&W)
"The Wise-Quacking Duck"
"Draftee Daffy"
"Riff Raffy Daffy"
"Boobs in the Woods"
Conrad Cat:
"The Bird Came C.O.D."
"Conrad the Sailor"
"Porky's Cafe" (Computer Colorized)

I came up with a similar idea. However, my idea would have focused more on the post "You Ought to be in Pictures" period of Daffy's life. The time when he was toned down a little, re-designed, etc. You're idea works well as an "Evolution of Crazy Daffy" episode, though.
I think Sniffles deserves an episode, the trivia question could even concern Sniffles' life in comic books with Mary Jane. Maybe even a sound clip from the Sniffles radio show could be used.
The Honeymousers also deserve an episode.
How about a classic TV show themes episode? No cartoon shorts would be shown, just classic TV themes and bumpers from shows like "The Bugs Bunny Show," "The Porky Pig Show," "The Roadrunner Show," "Huckleberry Hound," and "Yogi Bear." The Hanna-Barbera stuff would be complete with all the original Kelloggs references.
Another episode I'd really like to see them do is an "Adventures of the Roadrunner" episode. Basically, they would restore the original "Adventures of the Road Runner" TV pilot as best as they can.

It's amazing! Someone else thought of my Conrad Cat themed "Toon Heads" idea! Was that while you were watching the "Merrie Melodie" "The Bird Came C.O.D." yesterday, which happened to be the final cartoon to air on a Sunday Morning "Looney Tunes Show"?
And there could be a slight modification on that one non-starring shorts themed package. To wit:
Alex Lovy's No-Star Classics
Norman Normal
Flying Circus
Chimp And Zee
And I've even thought of another "Toon Heads" show that would really be wild and valuable:
The "Looney Tunes" Modern Theme Opening Variation (These would be the cartoons that have a slight variation of the modern theme in which there's an electric guitar-type riff that starts and ends the opening sequence)
See Ya Later Gladiator
Three Ring Wing Ding
Fistic Mystic
By the way, the new episode paying tribute to Arthur Davis coming September 1: Will that be half-hour or full hour?
And one more thing: Probably just about everyone got miffed when the Black-&-White Popeye print used on the "Toon Heads" "Cartoons In The Real World" Premiere happened to be that awful 'video opening slowdown'/ no original logo print! Hopefully subsequent airings will have the new remastered original logo print appear.
Same should go to all those Black-&-White Popeyes scheduled on the "Acme Hour", "Late Night Black-&-White", and earlier "Toon Heads" show reruns. Those Black-&-White Popeyes that air should be the new remastered original logo prints EXACTLY as on CN's "Popeye Show"!
We can only hope for that to become a reality within two weeks. :D :D :D :D

Bugs Bunny Nips The Nips is dated, but it's just good old fashioned WWII fun. If CN simply mentioned that it used steretypes and stuff (like the wartime cartoons special), they shouldn't have a problem. Now...Tokio Jokio is another thing. That cartoon just is a little bit tasteless.
Here's some more ideas I got:
STICK FIGURE TOONS
Designs For Tom
Cartoons Ain't Human (B&W)
Porky's Premire (B&W and uncut)
WACKYLAND
Porky In Wackyland (B&W)
Tin Pan Alley Cats (I know...)
Dough For The Do-Do
GHOST TROUBLE
Jeepers Creepers (uncut and B&W)
Shiver Me Timbers (B&W Popeye Show print)
The Haunted Mouse
The Evolution of Speedy Gonzales
Cat-Tails For Two
Speedy Gonzales
The Pied Piper From Guadalupe

I haven't seen either of those too. Descriptions?

Designs For Tom Is this a Tom & Jerry cartoon? It sounds more like "Designs on Jerry".
Cartoons Ain't Human (B&W)

WACKYLAND
Porky In Wackyland (B&W)
Tin Pan Alley Cats (I know...)Now THAT would be nice!
Dough For The Do-Do
GHOST TROUBLE
Jeepers Creepers (uncut and B&W)
Shiver Me Timbers (B&W Popeye Show print)
The Haunted Mouse
You could add "Ghost Wanted", an early-40's one-shot.
The Evolution of Speedy Gonzales
Cat-Tails For Two
Speedy Gonzales
The Pied Piper From Guadalupe

I dunno about "Nips the Nips" or "Scrap the Japs." Maybe they could be replaced by "Snafuperman" and "The Return of Mr. Hook." After all, CN has NEVER aired a Hook cartoon before.
