Hello everyone. On September 12th last year, I started an eleven-part series of Batman-related pictures based on the events of the day prior. I thought I'd start posting them up here as a bit of a tribute to what we had all experienced that day, whether we were there at Ground Zero or not. I've already posted a thread to make sure that others here at the Drawing Board were cool with this idea, but I just wanted to let everyone know that my intentions are good, and any similarity to the events of that day (or any that followed) were intentional.

The title of this series is "Gotham Under Fire" - a "what if" scenario on what would ensue if a similar event were to take place in Gotham City. Cheesy to some, maybe, but it was my way with dealing with the emotion and frustration I felt.

Gotham Under Fire series, #2:
"Terror in the Sky"

This particular pic features a city thrown into chaos just after the initial attack. Some people love to take advantage of the down-and-out, and that's what I wanted to show in this airborn battle sequence. That, and it was another example of the "what if" scenario - what would happen if Batman (or any superhero) existed when such an event occurred?

Very nicely done Tim. I know that immediately following the attack I decided to write a fanfic around the Watcher and how the Marvel Universe would have re-acted to the attacks. I think after the events everyone needed to find their own way to cope - thank you for sharing yours with all of us.

I think instead of having Roxy and Man-Bat attacking you should have drawn the three of them helping to put out the fire. Events like that do bring people together. Just look at Two Face during No Man's Land. After the quake he was helping dig people out.

Actually SLIPKNOT, a lot of my future pics feature stuff like that. Just wait and you'll see. :)
