Legends was my favourite episode by far, but I am left wanting more golden-age action
Will we see a teamup with the Real JSA this time? Jay Garrick, Alan Scott, Hourman and the rest?
I for one would kill to see it
Man, I'd love to see them, but I doubt it.
Didn't Timm & Co want to use them for Legends, but at the last minute found out they couldn't? They couldn't get the rights on such short notice or something?
I agree that Legends was the best set of episodes so far. They were the ONLY episodes of this show that I really enjoyed.
I think the final season of JL should be one long story arc, adapting elements of Kingdom Come. They could modify the story to include more Golden Age JSA heroes, even include Legion members from the future. The young and the old team up from across time to fight side by side, y'know?

Howdy,
The reason for the Justice Guild vs. the Justice Society was a "disagreement" between the JL team and the higher-ups at DC.
It's all summarized on the ToonZone Justice League Page (http://justiceleague.toonzone.net/episode9/episode9.htm) for "Legends," in their own words even.

As an active member of the JSA I am all for it. But, the real reason we were not in "Legends" was not the DC higher ups. But, the agent for Hourman and Mr.Terrific. Hourman wanted a trailer as big as Batman and Superman. But, we said your just not of their caliber. Mr.Terrific's problem is money. He wanted x they offered something less. And it just became to big of a problem. It is sad. I got my costume all cleaned & pressed and ready for action. But, alas, were were replaced by scabs. But, keep you hopes alive. You never know what the future will bring.

I would think that DC would let them use the JSA if it wasnt as campy as Legends was -- if they really went for something serious like the Crisis on Multiple Earths
DR.MID-NITE,
LOL! I've heard rumors in Hollywood that Wildcat can be very difficult to work with. :D
Upon further thought, I think maybe WB/DC didn't want any confusion related to the currest JSA comic. Younger fans aren't as familiar with the Golden Age versions as they might be with the Modern ones.
That could be a reason. The two JSA teams are similar in spirit, but very different otherwise.

If you look at the story, I can understand why the JSA wasn't used. SPOILER
After all, they were dead, and just recreations of the dead heroes.
If they use real DC characters, you'd want them to be alive.

I Believe The storyline was changed due to Timm and Co not being able to use The JSA so Im sure it would have turned out a lot different if they had been allowed to use them.

For those who don't know how it all started:
During the Silver Age it was established that all of the Golden Age superheroes were actually "fictional" characters who existed only in comic books. As witnessed in the old Flash of Two Worlds story, which was a tale that started the whole alternate realities angle. In it, Barry Allen used an old Flash comic (featuring the Jay Garrick Flash) as inspiration to use his powers for good. It turns out that the Golden Age comic book heroes (what we know as the JSA) were real beings who lived on an alternate world, dubbed "Earth-Two".
This was the first of many worlds created; Earth-3 was the next to appear, which was where the Crime Syndicate was from. All this would eventually lead to the Crisis saga.
Is there a point to all this? Well...I guess what I'm getting at is the JGA may be dead, but they are simply one of infinite earths out there, and it's possible "our" JSA may exist somewhere in the animated universe. Whether it be Earth-2, 3 or 115.

I'm not terribly interested in seeing the JSA make a full appearance, but I would like to see appearances by some of the other members, such as Dr. Midnite, Starman, Wildcat, or Hourman.

Oh no! I wouldn't like that, although I wouldn't want it to be campy either, I would still want it to be in the same universe...no more parallel universes for this old JLA fan...I need to rest...it took me two years to REALLY understand the whole Crisis thing and I don't think making more universes is a good idea...why don't we have the plot be more like this...
The retired JSA are forced to reunite when they discover an old nemesis is back--Icicle! Or Fiddler, or whoever...some old villain from the forties...and they team up with the Justice League along the way. And they can show flashbacks from World War II, featuring the original Hawkman and "Hawkwoman." Yeah, I said Hawkwoman...we should call her that so that she wouldn't have the same name as Hawkgirl...after all, she later changed her name to Hawkwoman anyway...plus maybe the Freedom Fighters and the whole entire All-Star Squadron can appear in the flash back sequence...now THAT would rock!
