Your ideas for the new Batman DTV movies

If they're going to make more animated movies which villains should they feature? The one idea about the Joker/Bane team-up doesn't sound bad to me, but I'm dying to see a full-length feature with Two-Face and Catwoman. That would make an awesome story since Batman has ties to both of them.

Although an animated version of No Man's Land or Knightfall, Contagation (I definately doubt they would make this one) would be cool too but I hope they do not introduce new characters. We don't need Azreal right?

Well, I'm a huge Joker fan, but I believe that he's gotten good amount of screen time in the entire animated Batman legacy. It's time to give another villain a chance. Mr. Freeze got his movie in Subzero. Joker got two movies in MOTP and ROTJ. Two-Face and Scarecrow are two villains I would like to see in a animated movie. I like Bane alright, but I don't think he can hold his own in a movie. Appearances by other villains (Penguin, Killer Croc etc.) may not be so bad. Maybe they could come up with a new villain, or even one that wasn't ever used (Noctora, Black Mask, Mr. Zsasz). Hell, why not even throw in a guest appearance by the Spectre or some other dark character from the DCU.

I'd like to see a storyline that ties the possible three animated movies together. Like a case that keeps reappearing and isn't solved until the third movie. Like a trilogy of sorts. I'd also like to see hints of the mob element back in Gotham. That was one of the cool things about the first season of BTAS. Gotta admire how Batman doesn't fear the mob. He knows he can put the boot to their ass, and is just too cool.

Batman talking bad to the mob: "You're still scum! And you hear things I don't!"

Batman: "If you protect him Stromwell, I'll be very...grumpy! You don't wanna see me...grumpy!"

Well, let's see...We apparently have a PLASTIC MAN TEAM-UP, so that would make the Joker/Bane team-up a good villain. Or Clayface.

Other than that, I'd like to see the kinda drama they gave Two-Face in "Two-Face" and "Second Chance." Those were just awesome episodes, and the whole Two-Face mythos were lost in TNBA.

The Riddler. Dini said there were stories that were too long and complicated for TV. What beter than a video? I love the Riddler, but he never a cool story (or costume) in TNBA.

Lex Luthor. There were some good Batman/Luthor moments and some good Wayne/Luthor moments in "World's Finest," but I'd like to see that buiilt on.

As for new animated appearances, THE QUESTION! This guy would RULE in the animated universe! Or Black Canary and Batman fighting Catwoman.

I also agree with Mr. Mayhem on the mob. Let's see some Batman: Year One-type stuff. I personally would love to see the night when Jack Napier became the Joker. That in itself would make a cool movie.

The Question would RULE!! I can't wait for his back-up story in Detective Comics to begin at the end of the year! I'd like to see Two-Face or Riddler get their own movie, more Two-Face. A DTV is the right plateau to explore Two-Face's scarred psyche. Although Riddler got treated like crud during TNBA so he deserves his due. A nice mob story involving the Penguin would be nice. As of now, I wouldn't like to see a team-up between villians. Batman - sure! But the live action movies show has team ups can go awry. Then again, World's Finest showed how they work (EW gave that vid an A-).

How about Death in the Family? I know it's a decade old or so, but I'd like to see them do this in the animated style.

I'd like to see Batman: No Man's Land as a movie. I think it'd be cool if the producer did an animated movie based on a comics storyline and not tied to the animated universe.

I'm not sure, but what was on the news page made it sound like the video will either be a team-up with Superman or Wonder Woman or Plastic Man or Green Arrow (Personally I'd want the Green Arrow team-up out of the four).

Or quite possibly is could be a collection of short animated stories showing Batman working with all four heroes. But isn't that what JL is for? ;) So I'm sticking with my theory that it will Batman with one of the four. How about some clarification DG?


I just thought of this, supposedly getting at least three DTV's (two which have been greenlighted), and each one is supposedly in a different style. Now if I remember correctly there was an animated Batman film in the works at some point between MotP and SubZero but it was shelved and we all know about the Joker/Bane story that was shelved in favor of RotJ. I'm sure that both of these stories had at least a first draft script completed and character designs done. Personally I believe that it would be much easier to use material that you've already got than starting from scratch.

Now if I'm right I think this could explain the different styles that's been reported that each film will have.
Lost film #1 - nothing known about it - BTAS style
Joker/Bane Team-up - TNBA style
Third new film - Batman/Hero(s) team-up - JL style
