Has anyone else noticed that we've been getting a lot of "Dead-Post Resurrection" as of late? It may be the cause of newbies searching the archives, and seeing a post that they want to participate in, so replying...but...when a thread is about a year old...there is no need to start it up again! Sheesh. Check the dates before you reply to an old post that you notice is on the 10th page of archived threads.
If the thread is a month or two old, it's still cool to add a reply, maybe bring a little life back into it. It's happened a few times with no problems. But every one n' awhile, I've seen a thread or two pop up that were started way back in '01, and...well..if you see a post from that long ago, and want to comment on it, why not just start a new thread?

Maybe because they've been repeatedly admonished for NOT searching the archives and starting new threads on things that were already discussed. Unless the stated (not necessarily official) policies ease up, you can't expect to have it both ways!

Well it really all depends, the album was pretty old but until I got a scanner I couldn't post on it and it seems like eveyone else has begun using it again too so I don't see a problem if it's a thread everyone will have something to say in.

No, but we can expect some common sense... and manners.

There should be a cut-off point, like if a topic hasn't been used in (a certain amount of time), then a new thread should be created. However, that would never work, as most people will not take the time to search.
