Starting Sept. 9, here is what the Boomerang line-up will look like. Overall, I'd say this is a pretty good selection of shows. It will be nice to get an hour of Popeye everyday. :D
8:00am: Popeye - 1 hr.
9:00am: Laff-A-Lympics
9:30am: Dynomutt
10:00am: Smurfs
10:30am: Snorks
11:00am: Wacky Races
11:30am: Dastardly & Muttley
12:00pm: Huckleberry Hound Show
12:30pm: Yogi Bear Show
1:00pm: Quick Draw McGraw
1:30pm: Loopy De Loop
2:00pm: Boomerang Afternoon Character Block - 2 hr.
Mon.: Droopy & Friends (featuring MGM cartoons)
Tue.: Top Cat
Wed.: Where's Huddles?
Thu.: Jonny Quest
Fri.: Porky & Friends (featuring WB cartoons)
Then the 8 hours of programming repeats throughout the day (like usual).

What is loopy de loop?
They don't show that on Boomerange here.
Another thing,
I don't believe they just repeat everything they just showed after 4:00pm!!
We get new programmes thru-out the day!
Loopy, if I remember right, was a french wolf. He wanted to do good deeds, but everyone was afraid and didn't trust him because he was a wolf (since all wolves are evil and sneaky). It's like Pepe Le Pew as a Boy Scout in wolf's clothing. The cartoons look like average TV cartoons of the time, but were theatricaly released by Columbia after UPA stopped making theatrical stuff...

Sounds better than CN's current lineup, with the exception of very few WB cartoons on Boomerang. I hope nothing rare airs on "Porky & Friends".

Well, that sounds like a pretty good lineup there. Nice to see the WB and MGM cartoons not kept just to the weekends. And, of course, the late 50s/early 60s H-B. And no Scooby!
Tell me, Jon, does Boomerang still show the original "Porky Pig and Friends" opening that ran on CN a few months back?
It's a shame there's only 8 hours of original programming, though. It'd be better if there were 12, and then have the 12 hours repeat. Anyone have any thoughts of what other classic
H-B or other cartoons could fill up the other four hours?

I like Hong Kong Phooey, I think that that could work in there well. Also Ruff and Ready. Fantastic Four is good, but I think that's on their weekend schedule already. I would like to see some non-HB classic TV stuff like the Alvin Show, George of the Jungle, Hoppity Hooper, Beany & Cecil, but I doubt they'd want to run shows that they'd have to pay cash for on a network with so little exposure.
It would also be a good place to air Pink Panther, Inspector, Mr. Magoo, and Lantz shorts. Or any other classic theatrical shorts that aren't anywhere else. I know that Boomerang was originally for old TV stuff, but that doesn't mean it has to stay that way.
The only one in that schedule that I kind of question is Where's Huddles, which I haven't seen but sounds kind of corny. The rest, I like, even Laff-A-Lympics (the camp value and nostalgia probably helps)

An hour's worth of Popeye at 8am every weekday morning on Boomerang?
1. The only place yours truly can watch Boomerang is at a hotel in northeast Georgia. THANK YOU DISH NETWORK!!!!!
2. Even if I get back to Georgia, which is likely, I'll be on duty at 8 am in the mornings.
I guess I'll be seeing nothing but Gargamel and Azrael.

While we're on the subject...
What are the odds of The Bugs Bunny Show being released on video?

I haven't seen Boomerang air the Porky show for a little while now. The past few weekends have been the 1970s year-by-year. I also wish Boomerang would toss in a few more hours of programming per day. At least the selection of shows rotate every month, so we aren't stuck watching the same stuff over and over for very long. It's too bad Cartoon Network itself doesn't do that (I sure wouldn't mind seeing a few Cartoon Cartoons given a rest once and awhile).
For some reason, whenever Boomerang shows Ruff and Reddy it *always* seems to be the exact same few segments from the "Mini-Mula" storyline. :(

When Ruff and Reddy originally aired on NBC, there was a live host between the cartoon segments. What was the format after the show went to syndication? Was there ever a R & R program opening and closing (ala the Huck, Yogi, and Quick Draw shows), or just the "Get set, get ready..." opening for the cartoons themselves?

I think Boomerang should get ride of all those 60s/70s crappy H-B cartoons and concentrate more on pleasing the classic cartoon audience. Im tired of watching those crappy H-B productions like JabberJaw, Hair Bear Bunch, ect. I don't mind Yogi, Snagglepuss, or even Pixie & Dixie, but most of the rest just plain suck. What would you rather watch, Secret Squirrel or any WB, MGM, Paramount cartoon? I have nothing against H-B, but most cartoons after the Flintsones suck.

I don't want classic cartoons on Boomerang because I don't receive that station.

But what you must understand is that Boomerang was created for the main purpose of getting cartoons like "Devlin" and "Jabberjaw" off Cartoon Network so they could concentrate more on Cartoon Cartoons and Scooby.
Although I'm all for more airtime devoted to classic WB, MGM, Popeye, etc., I have a feeling we were extremely lucky to have the half hour of Tweety that Boomerang showed today. :)
