We all know a new Ninja Turtles in on it's way next February. Here's a first glimps at the NEW TOYS!! So far, it's just Leo, and these are the prototypes. The smaller figures look kinda 'fat', but the 12" are Very nice. And the vehicles are like a blast from the past. *sigh*...I'm feeling all squishy and happy inside! :D

*sigh* Those turtles make me nostalgic! I remember them being insanely popular in the late 1980's.
I wonder if the new series will be any good

God, I used to have a pretty large collection of TMNT toys along with some Batman and Star Wars toys, lost them over the years though...got broken or lost. Yeah, these toys make me nostalgic to "get 'em all." Honestly, I caught TMNT 2 a few days ago on cable and still dug it, I prefer TMNT 1 over it but still good flick.
First He-Man, now Transformers, and now TMNT, honestly I'm in freakin' heaven here with all this coming back to me. I loved this stuff when I was young, never got out of watching stuff like it but now the original gold standard has come back and is looking as beautiful as ever. Especially, noticed the anime look in the toys, more closer to the comic book, I like that.

My gf was telling me of a nice article in her local paper about all this.... apparently he-man, turtles and transformers (among several other things) are back almost entirely thanks to those of us who turned into toy collectors. The 80`s generation is actually pretty much the first and only generation ever to have such a strong sentimental attachment to the toys and cartoons they had when they were younger, and many of them buy old toys just so their own kids can grow up on the same franchises. Market research noticed this, and decided to finally give us what we want.

Wow! They didn't change them that much. I thought it would have been a bigger change in design.

I'm just glad they put effort into weapons this time around. Those cheap brown ones didn't cut it. The new logo looks good too.

They look great. I rather for the series to be on CN but I'm definitly going to support the Turtles in any way I can. I'm happy they are sticking with the comicbook roots. I can't wait to actually see a preview for this show :D I'm going to start save up my chore money so I can get figures of The Turtles, Splinter, Apirl, and Casey Jones. :D

I think the new toys are coming out along the same time the new TMNT tv show comes out, around January-February 2003.

The toys are scheduled for a street-date of "December", so they SHOULD be out just in time for Christmas!!! Keep your fingers crossed on that one! ;) But, remember that things do get delayed, and they get delayed often, so don't get too excited just yet. From the first assortment of 5" figures, we'll get to see Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo, Raphael, Splinter, April, Shredder, Foot Soldier. That is enough to keep me happy for a Loooong long time!
Also, more news. Casey Jones WILL BE IN THE SERIES. He's also in the second assortment of figures. I'm currently in the process of TRYING to get a picture of his design for the series (no doubt it'll still look like the classic casey..but still. I'm a Casey fan).
Also, there are some new characters to keep and eye out for...
Foot Elite-from what I understand, this is just going to be a..."foot commander" of sorts. Kinda like that one bald dude from the movies. But thats all I've heard.
Triceraton- I think this may be the "Bebop & Rocksteady" replacement. I haven't heard a damn thing about whether or not Bebop n' Rockstead will be in the series, and so far..I doubt it.
"Mutant"- this name came up. Being as it's not creative in the least, I'm guessing that MAYBE there will be random mutant characters in the show. I don't know anything more.
Also, Baxter will make an appearance in the series, and I personally can't wait to see "classic" bug-baxter animated! But, he's not going to be that important..he wont be apart of the main story arch for season 1, but he'll be in an episode or two, no doubt.
Also, I heard a rumor that April might be Baxter's lab assistant in the series(which would imply baxter having a bigger role, which causes me to think that this rumor isn't true). To anyone who know's the ancient turtle myth, April was originally a lab assistant to Dr. Baxter Stalkman(pre-bug). When the "Archie" Ninja Turtles hit the comic stores, April's role was re-writen as a Reporter, and that's what became the April we all know and love. Personally, I think it'd be a smart move to keep April a reporter, because that's simply what the majority of the fanbase grew up thinking, and loving. So, It's just a rumor, and I'm very confident it's false, but I still think it's interesting to state, none the less. :D
Well I had thought that in the comcis Baxter always DID have a much bigger role than what he played out to be in Ninja Turtles Series 1....

IIRC, Dr. Baxter Stockman was the inventor of the "Mouser" robots. I don't remember much of a role beyond that. The Triceartons were a race of aliens that tried to invade Earth, but were unable to continue after several months because of elements in the atmosphere that were toxic to their metabolism. I expect we might be seeing some of Dr. Honeycutt (The Fugitoid) and the TCRI aliens as well. Let's hear it for plastic pushin!

From the looks of things these are still pretty close to some of the original figures from the first cartoon - Leo does look pretty kewl though (he was always my favorite out of all of them). I'm looking forward to seeing these on store shelves right next to the new line of He-Man, GI Joe and Transformers: Armada figures (does anyone else feel like they just took a trip back to the 80's? :p ).
Hopefully Mirage will be sending out some promo pieces for the series so that we can finally see what the new animated series will look like.
-Joe!

Sculpting, articulation, quality story writing and animation has never been so good. Finally, the 80's return with all the quality elements it deserves!!
Anyway. I'm wondering what the theme sound will sound like..."Turtles in a half shell..TURTLE POWER!" :D
Also, since Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman are personally working on the series(character designs, episode plots, all that good stuff is being run through these guys for approval! WOO!), I'm wondering if we'll ever get an animated adaption of the comic story where Raph "switched sides"...ooo..I'd LOVE to see that. :D
