Magneto will be returning for the upcoming second season of X-Men: Evolution on Kids' WB!, the Comics Continuum reports. According to producer Bod Kirkland he'll be back, but not until towards the end of the season. Story editor says that the season will build up to it. Also Mystique has vanished. Whether or not she'll return to the show is unsure right now, but she's left the Brotherhood with no leader.

The creators confirmed there will be new villains, but didn't provide any details.

"There's going to some real surprises in the season that I don't want to spoil, or else they wouldn't be surprises," Kirkland said. "We have some interesting character developments and plot twists that are going to keep people guessing, that's for sure."

Greg Johnson said that a major villain for a potential third season is hinted at during the 17-episode second season. The third season's fate will be revealed, as usual with about any show, in April. Johnson says that ..."everybody will know when that moment comes...there's a clue about the third-season villain in there." The season won't be stacked with new villians, though, according to Kirkland. Kirkland believe the "...emphasis of the show is on our guys and what's going on with them, as opposed to the big, epic kind of stories of who's the villain of the week, and trying to see how many of them we've crammed into a season...That's not the approach we've taken with this show. Don't expect to see a brand-new super-villain every single show, because then the show becomes about them more than about our characters and the issues they're dealing with - which is the emphasis for this series. But we are going to be introducing some cool characters. It's just we're not going to be doing that all the time."

Expect the premiere episode on Sept. 15th when the new season premieres.
