Hi there. Those who post on/read the Toonzone WB-Toons board might recognize me from there (as the guy who "reads DC Comics and likes the Flash"), but this is my first time posting here, not having actually explored the other forums as much :-) Over on the WB toons board, I've probably rambled off on enough worthless DC Comics trivia to keel over everyone else, and wrote a fanfiction superhero-themed story ("Brain's Mission For President Reagan": Basically, Superboy (the old, pre-Crisis one) meets Pinky and the Brain for a mission for Pres. Reagan in the 80's as a sort of follow up on that ep where the mice reach the infant Kal-El's ship before the Kents did...). Dunno how often I'll check out this forum, but figured it couldn't hurt to throw my two cents re: the new JLA show out at least....

Quite excited over the new JLA series (like others here apparently), and hope to have a cable TV subscription in time to actually see it...

I saw this article on the show on this website (which uses news bits that're taken from, among other sources, this forum apparently). Guess it's mostly old news to everyone here, but here goes anyway:

One note of interest is that Luthor's going to be portrayed in the vein of the older "mad scientist"-ish tone; could be interesting (esp. if we see why he does so/how he lost his fortune, given the comment in the article about "how he has a reason to have to wear the battlesuit")...guess the producers of the show weren't too taken with the billionaire-Lex setup (even on the S:TAS, Luthor never seemed as well-used to me as the Joker was in B:TAS)...

Who's really bored tonight...

Welcome to the boards, B! I hope you enjoy it around here! We got a real nice thing going on and I hope you like it around here. As for Luthor...well...I think he was eventually caught by the authorites and into prison which drove him mad. Now he's all cooky.

Welcome to the board Brainy!

I'm also interested on Lex's story. I'm sure it won't be too hard for our writers to come up with something good though. Although I really liked how Lex was in TNBSA. He's so insanely evil, but you can't do anything about it, because you don't have any proof! It makes you hate him even more! Hehehe. Plus his superhuman genius and superhuman evil mind works very well in the non-physical types of stories. Joker is a different story though, of course, because he's very well suitable for both.

LOL! Well I like DG's personality description of Lex. Cooky's the way to go! :) But I'm sure it was something like that which happened. But I'm wondering if anything PHYSICAL happened to him to make him need the suit. Yeah there's the motive so he can use it to fight off Superman and anyone else who tries to catch him, but I was ALSO thinking somewhere along the lines of Iron Man's need for HIS suit.

Of course, I wouldn't want to see him in it ALL the time though. I like the evil genius leader vibe I got from the screwy 70s Super Friends show. It could work in a modern setting, I think.

Hey, check out my theories about Luthor on the Injustice! thread above.

Like Batman and Superman, Lex Luthor has had many different portrayals in the past. This is just a way to pay homage to another facet of his character.

A belated welcome to Karkull! Anyways, I think this "new" Luthor has potential. I think it could work out as a nice twist on the character.
