Matt -- you said yourself, this still is a weak time for ratings... hopefully they'll suprise us and change the line-up once the "secret" acquisition is announced. And for 9/15, I can handle a HB:AAL marathon -- I need to get them all on tape anyway.

There's still a chance for that to change, right? I kinda think 0083 needs a rest, and Big O season 1 needs a run on AS, so couldn't that show up?

Don't get your hopes up too high. Remember Momentary?
I don't know what Part 2 will be about, but while I'm hopeful that it'll be good, I'm not holding my breath for a brand new episode that's worth watching.

Indeed. If Big O 2 is coming straight to ASA, the first season would be a nice change of pace.

But Big O 2 probably won't be here until early 2003 so they're not really in a hurry to air Season 1.
And I ain't holdin' my breath for Waiting for Edward part 2. For all I know it could be another Momentary. >_<

If they're going to air season 1 first, they should definately get on it soon.

Okay, I'm a little scared of some of the translations of the Inu-Yasha episode titles. "Yura of the Dragon Hall"? What the heck does that mean? I never heard of a Dragon Hall in Inu-Yasha. "Down the Rabbit Hole and Back Again" sounds like some lame Americanization...it's a well, not a rabbit hole. And since when was Sesshomaru an assassin? He's Inu-Yasha's demonic brother! And as for "Tetsusaiga, the Phantom Sword"...sounds like a watering down of calling it a demon blade.
Maybe I'm a little anal about this; it's been a while since I've seen the fansubs of the show, so it's not like I remember the titles. And hell, these may very well be the actual translations of the titles in an attempt to be clever; I do it all the time when I write stories. But still, I just hope VIZ had the sense not to translate the show for a Zoids audience (they did get away with a lot of stuff, but overall Zoids is still a kids show). At least they didn't call the Tetsusaiga something lame like "Sword of Power" or the "Tooth Sword." And I had better hear the word "demon" instead of "monster" in that show.

Forget the titles, I could care less about those. What I can't figure out is, where are the rest of the episodes? There's four being aired, but Sesshoumaru isn't even supposed to appear until episode five, and the Tetsusaiga isn't located until six.....What gives?

Yura of the Dragon Hall?
It should be Yura of the Hair.
Theirs neither a dragon or a hall at all.

It's a FANSUB for a reason.
As in, not official. As in, probably incorrect.

Yurai of the Hair is the tranlation used by the official manga, that makes it official.
And since she uses hair its sounds a whole lot more trustworthy than Yura of the Dragon hall. It would be more accurate to use "Kagome takes a bath! I am very happy!" because im pretty sure she takes a bath in that episode.
Im using the Episode titles to see how much the plan to americanize it.
The fact that their completely changing episode names to things like "Down the rabbit hole" and "Yura of the Dragon Hall" doesn't sound good.
but the other titles don't sound to bad.

Yes, the dub from what I've heard seems watered down. Its a shame, I wonder if the guys at Viz knew it'd be on ASA. They MAY have dubbed it with Toonami in mind, and while it won't be edited for footage too badly, that kinda sucks.
Maybe it'll become better later in the series, or maybe it won't be bad at all. But, it's not looking too good.

I think that Matt decided to leave it off since it doesn't have episodes like Popeye. It just has random shorts thrown together. But you can get a list of the shorts from either the TTTP's classic cartoon schedule or CN's online schedule. Both of those should be updated for Sept. at the same time. Just as soon as CN puts up their schedule, the TTTP will update theirs.

as matt said, its silly to compare something to a fansub translation. if you ask me, i'll take the official translation from a real translator than a second rate fan translation any day of the week. (heck, even some of the IY's swearing was exaggerated in some fansubs*)

Those are not accurate titles.
"Yura of the Dragon Hall" should be "Yura of the Hair" and Sesshomaru is not an assasin, but the part about the Aristocrat is correct.
and "Down the Rabbit hole and up again" should be translated as something like "Coming home through the well".
"Tetsusaiga, the phantom sword" is accurate as is "Seekers of the sacred jewel".
I would take a official translation too, but some of these make absolutely no sense.

Anyone notice Outlaw Star conveniently wraps up for October? What do you think will take its place? It's most likely to get the golden boot from ASA.

Actually, I wasn't really comparing the official translation to fansubs; I was just mentioning how long it's been since I've watched them, so I had no idea what the titles were. But in any case, you're right; it is stupid to worry about them, especially since "Dragon Hall" has been changed to "Demon Hair", which is much better (how that was misspelled, I don't wanna know!).
Anyway, about Outlaw Star ending in October...well, we have either Big O 2 or Ghost in the Shell TV to replace it, and rumors indicate it could be either (if, of corse, GitSTV is the similtaneous one). Or it could be a super-secret acquisition...but we all know that is incredibly unlikely, as nowadays you'd be lucky to sneeze without someone posting it online.

I'd rather they air Big O 1 before Big O 2. For those people who haven't seen it. And it'll most likely be the Toonami version. (I'll bet WS is banging their heads about changing "To be continued..." in episode 13)

yeah, if they don't change anything else in the original Big O series edit, I hope they put to be continued back on episode 13, if only so people new to the series and who aren't involved with a place like toonzone (where they could get the facts) aren't very confused.

If they don't restore "Cast in the Name of God", that'd be a big problem.
I bet that since they probably won't be able to get a fresh tape, they'll just edit in a Cast in the Name of God from season 2, if they can. It'd be like restoring the openings to Outlaw Star. They got the opening, but they couldn't restore it in the edited tape, so they just played it before the episode. They edited the Batman Beyond intro out for the Toonami airing, but the first time it aired, the original intro was right in place. On the 10:30 PM airing, however, the intro was out of place, because they cut it from the tape and couldn't restore it. So, I kinda doubt they can fix it, but if they can, I really hope they do (they fixed some blood edits in 0083).

I really doubt it. They'll get rid of Gundam 0083 and Outlaw Star before they get rid of Bebop. The only way they'll take off CB is if they decide to double-up YYH to make it go by faster after starting up Big O and GitS.

I don't see Bebop going off the air for some time. Bebop is the reason there is an ASA to begin with, and even with newer shows coming up, it's still one of their biggest attention getters.
... the biggest attention getter ...?
A very high praise but worthy for CB, I guess.
For me, even when I tire of seeing reruns for YYH (I will be when we got to Rando and the Saint Beasts again) and moreso with MSG and 0083, it's still no problem seeing an episode of CB.
That said, I think CB should be put off air for just a little while just so that the next time we see an episode of CB, instead of saying "Seen this episode, kinda cool... just leave it in the background I guess while I do something else...", we'll be saying "Ooh... this episode ... haven't seen it in the longest time..."
But when should it be put off air, beats me...
During summers maybe...
Anyway, hallelujah for WS for getting in a lot of cool stuffs, can't wait till the end of the month for Inu Yasha...

Fat chance. Viz may be toning down the language, and they may be adding in their own cultural refernces, but I seriously doubt they'll screw it up as badly as Pilot Candidate. Viz has done some pretty good overall (note: I said overall) dubs like Ranma and Zoids, so I'm confident they won't butcher Inu-Yasha like Funimation did to DBZ, which had unnecessary references left and right.
Pilot Candidate, on the other hand, is pretty bad. I mean, that last line in the final episode - "Let's sing together" - I nearly wanted to cry, it was so bad. Yes, I'll watch Hamtaro before you drag me back to watch Pilot Candidate again!
