Oh, its just a wish, I admit (hey, the Powerpuff Girls got one, why not?...;), but since I create parody and wishful thinking movie trailers, I was wondering if anyone here would want to download a 'trailer' for an ATHF Movie, if I made one...
Heres a sample scene from the proposed trailer...http://www.karcreat.com/aquatmoviescene6.jpg
Let me know if you think this sounds amusing...it would contain the same size screen you see here, full music, sounds, etc...;)

Sound like quite the task. Oh and what do you use to animate them? Is it traditional animation, like Shockwave, or something along the digital line?

Wow! That's really cool. I would love to see your take on ATHF: The Movie.

...Its a task, yes...usually takes several days/weeks of free time...;)
But they're a hoot to make, I have always wanted to make movies, since I was about 10...

I use a program called "Animated Screen" by a company called Pysoft (www.pysoft.com) that allows you to import animation frames, set directional moves, sizes (growth, shrink), etc...in any size frame you desire...and then you export the animation as an AVI file.

Karceat -- I'm an amateur screenwriter (have several projects in the works... of course, I want to direct =P) so if you're serious about doing this, we'd first need to come up with a script, and then start storyboarding it. Of course, to be anything but a fun little short film on the web, we'd need to get Williams Street's permissions and/or enough money to get the rights to it.

Oh, I know the steps in creating a trailer...Ive created over 20 of them for my site (www.karcreat.com), ranging from parodies to 'wishlist' previews (films I WISH existed, like this ATHF Movie)...;)
Also, I need not aquire the rights to the characters, etc, as I dont plan to market the film...its a freebie, fan created download...not a PENNY will be profited from it...

Thanks tho...

That Animated Screen software is pretty complicated, but it can't be worse than 3d max. If I ever get comfortable with it, I'm going to parody the Back to the Future teaser with "Brak to the Future".

I think if you showed 100 people an ATHF show, then showed a PPG cartoon, ATHF would win. If enough people saw it, it would be the biggest show on CN. Then, we would get a movie!

I really appreciate hearing that, as I make all those films for free downloads, just to entertain people...its good to hear that you like them...;)

As far as the 'software' you mentioned...did you download Animated Screen?
If so, I agree w/ you...it DOES kick ass, I love that you can make intricate screensavers w/ it, and export animated film AVIs too...;)

They should just do a made for TV movie. That way the movie wouldn't run the risk of flopping in the theatres. They could just show the movie during the normal ASC timeslot. That would be really cool.
Anways, about your idea, you should try flash, it's how i make my movies and it's really easy to learn.

Yes I did, It is a little tricky as of now, but I hope to get the hang of it. I have had an idea for a comic for a long time now, and my ultimate goal is to make a trailer type short for it. I am having the most troble with the sound clips and all. But thanks I am really enjoying it. :)

Well, I would pay to see a feature film of it anyway...;)

As for the FLASH thing, I own a copy of FLASH 6...sans instructions!
And I have to say, (I must be stoooopid) that its TOUGH to figure out...I also have always had problems playing FLASH movies, in so far as the sounds never quite match with the actions...so I prefer AVI/ turned Real Media...;)

I DO, however, like the small file advantage of FLASH...but that sound issue and the 'learning curve' aspect make it a hassle, Im so busy creating artwork for clients, I would need to devote a LOT of time 'trial and error' education...;)

...I can answer any questions you have regarding Animate Screen...
I can also point you to several free WAV sites online, and tell you where to get cheap sound editing equipment, where you just pop the sound you want in right where the animation frame is paused...;)

...For those curious....
I have completed 9 scenes so far (with added dialouge) of a guesstimated 20 or 25 scenes...the trailer SHOULD be ready for viewing by this time next week...;)

Even if nothing is charged for it, it still violates intellectual property rights. In other words, without CN's permission, you could be sued just for drawing them.

Well, that would be pathetically stupid and bad press for them, if they did...
I have created several 'fan films' over the years, with no hassles...they are not demeaning or insulting to the characters in question, and only serve as proof of devotion and interest in said property...
Slapping fans of a given subject in the face for showing their interest in a topic is a pretty dumb thing to do, I honestly doubt that the gifted creators of ATHF would be assinine enough to bother with the expense, time, and effort involved in insulting their fans....(at least I HOPE so, anyway!...;)

You're missing the bigger picture. Any time you re-create images from a copyright-protected medium, you're infringing on their intellectual property rights. Now, they may choose to ignore you, but if what you make becomes popular enough, they can have it shut down with one call to their legal team.

karcreat

'Youre missing the bigger picture here..."

Not at all.
The bigger picture is the point I mentioned previously..
If said company is actually lame enough to slap their fans in the face for creating a tribute to their work, which is true to the characters, and doesnt insult or give harm to the property in question, they are creating bad press....
Remember all the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" sites that were shut down, created by true fans of the show...and how it pissed all of them off?

THAT was a stupid call on the Buffy Legal Dept...it looked REALLY bad to the fans, and the numbers on the show actually dropped a bit when this occured (USA Today)...
I am not worried that the guys responsible for ATHF would be so callous and simple minded,...I honestly dont think they would take the time and effort to 'shut me down' over a bit of fanfare that does NOTHING more than show I am a true follower of their work...

"End of Line..."

:)
