I was just wondering, do you prefer Batman or Superman? I prefer Batman of course and honestly I can't stand Superman :p

Batman, because he has cooler villians like Clayface. But Superman does have some good villians like the Parasite

Batman cuz he's more real to me than Superman. What I mean by that is Superman is more of an ideal superhero that nobody will ever achieve. But Batman strikes me as a tad more realistic. I'd like to see the Batman comics reworked by M Night, giving Batman a kind of Unbreakable feel. He's just more of a realistic superhero, if there can be such a thing.

I think that's true. Batman is the most realistic superhero and the Batman universe is not so science fiction like Superman's. Batman takes place in our worlds, he has no superpowers, doesn't fight aliens in a space ship. The stories deal with issues in our environment and with today's problems. Batman's human without extremely fancy and unrealistic suits (like Iron Man e.g.) and that's why I think many people can relate to him. Batman basicly could exist.

Because Batman and Batman stories are more realistic than Superman I hate BM/SM crossovers because these two world's just don't match.

Batman is obviously not at powerful as Superman. But his stories are so much more interesting. Superman is practially invulnerable. Doesn't allow for much drama. The reason I think why I always prefer Batman is because he has a crappy life. His parents are dead. He never finds true love. Has no real family, and his surrogate family always seems to have issues. Batman's dyfunctional life is something that nearly every one can relate to.

Also his villains are better because they have better motives. Darkseid and company want to destroy the world. Why? just because that's how they get their jollies.

Mr. Freeze fights because for the love of his wife. Two-Face exists out of suppresion of an evil deep inside a good Harvey Dent. The Mad Hatter was stalking a girl named Alice. Poison Ivy has eco terrorist goals.

Batman himself and his stories will always be more entertaining to me.

Batman because he goes and fights crime because of the motives driving him, not because he is the sole survivor of an alien planet w/ super powers given to him by earth's yellow sun. Nothing against Superman though. I like him too. Batman's stories just have a more psychological approach which give to deeper plots.

man, it clearly points out how unpopular Superman is, I think WB should see this ;)

Batman, because he's more realistic. Not only is he easier to relate to, it's just interesting to think that he could exist in our world.

I also think M Night could make a really good Batman movie. I'd like to see him take over the franchise instead of making a sequal to Unbreakable (if that is what he is doing).

Batman is easily the better of the two, but that doesn't mean he;s more popular. The SUPERMAN titles do outsell the vats majority of the BATMAN titles. Anyways, I enjoy the Dark Knight, He's more realistic and just more interesting.

SUPERMAN! Y'know, five or six months ago I would've said Batman without a doubt. But then I got into reading the Superman books, and especially since Joe Casey took over ADVENTURES, I like Supes more than Bats. But I do, and always have, loved Batman. I'm a huge fan, and it's a tough call. But I read every Super-title monthly, whether or not they tie together, whereas 'Tec is the only Bat-title I'll read.
And Batman's always been more ruthless. As a character, I'm much more like Superman, so it's easier to relate. Maybe I don't fly in space on a regular basis, but as a person, I'm much closer to Superman.

I could really see an Adam West Batman w/ that "kicks more booty" logo, but the TNBA Batman w/ it looks kinda funky. :D Anyway, Batman rules!!! :)

Batman! Like everyone said, he is more realistic. Also, i think he is the only superhero who is not an alien or mutant of some sort. He has NO super powers or anything like that but the cool gadgets make up for that :p .

:D :D :D

Although I realize it means going against the grain, I gotta say Superman. Batman has been swallowed in a sea of dark characters. Batman is dark, but so what? So is every other character in comics. Sure, he may have started such a trend, but nowadays its just redundant.

Superman is the last pure character in an array of modern age darkness. He represents what the word 'hero' means. And when you ask anyone on the street to name a superhero, the first name that comes to their mind will 9 times out of 10 be Superman.

Cheers.

Hm strange a vast majority prefers Batman. I remember when the KWB had such a poll a few years back Batman only had 55% something like that) Maybe WB cheated....

Batman is definitely the more interesting and my favorite character. I've always heard people say that Batman is more realistic, but when you consider a man wearing tights and swing around buildings....well, it's not all that realistic. More than any realism that exists, I think Batman's world is so compelling because of his reason for being. There's a lot pain in him, a lot of suffering. Bruce is a very driven individual carrying one hell of a burden. It's all that which gives him so much depth.

Superman's great, but he really doesn't stand out. He's a guy with super powers. So what. That's seems to be the case with most comic heroes. With Batman, there's so much more reason for what he does. The stories that follow Batman carry so much emotion and come across as so much more alive than anything else. I think that's what makes Batman so great.

BATMAN, without a doubt. There's so many reasons as to why, but I'm sure everybody knows them, so I'll leave it at that....

Well, there are also a growing number of characters WITHOUT super powers. As I've heard many times before, and completely agree with, the appeal of Superman isn't what powers he has, it's how he uses his powers. Or DOESN'T use his powers. The ending to the latest issue of ADVENTURES has Superman saying "I'm going to kill him," in reference to Brainiac 13. That's major. With the trend of superheroes today, that's nothing. but to Superman? It's everything. Superman may have the widest array of powers, but there's a line that he doesn't cross, and that makes him an interesting character. In a world where a super-team like the Authority is popular, it's hard to have a character who's a true hero, who will stand up for Truth, Justice, and the American way. If you need any proof of how great a character Superman is, you must read ACTION COMICS #775. In fact, everyone should read this. Go! Find it!

Batman!!!!! I never really liked Superman. Except for the animated series. That rocked. Batman's much cooler. And he has style.

Action Comics #775 was amazing. It was such a great read, and I'm eager to see what happens ADVENTURES. KIlling is a major thing for Superman. This will effect him forever.
