What do you think about his new look? I really prefer the fact that he's slimmer and not so bulky like in TNBA. I wish they would have made him slimmer earlier. I don't like the new cowl though.

I think this Batman would look best:

shape: JL
cowl: TNBA/BTAS
belt: BTAS
gloves: TNBA
symbol: BTAS

that would be a great mix

I love it. I personally think it's the best one yet. I think Batman SHOULD have long ears, adds to the fear factor. They've got it all nailed down as far as I'm concered. The BTAS symbol? No way. The yellow oval sucks, and is a pretty dumb thing to have on a guy who's supposed to be the creature of the night.

The JL look is real spiffy. The cover of JLAdventures #1 make shim look EXACTLY perfect! I think the JL look could be the quinnessential one.

It's probably my favorite look to date. His design is one of my favorite off the show, Hawkgirl looks really good, too...

If you cover up his mouth, he looks almost like Batman Beyond.

I personally think that the new look rocks. However it will take sometime for me to get used to the ears. There was one shot at comic con from behind Bats. the audience saw his back shoulders and head. The ears did look a little odd from that perspective.

I think that you pretty much nailed JL Batman on the nose:) At least, from what i've seen.

But honestly, i don't mind the new look, and i'm just gonna accept it as the evolution of Batman. There's really nothing else we can do. And it's good enough that i do kinda like it, and i know it'll grow on me.

I personally don't like the design at all. He looks like a teenager. Or to me it seems he looks stupid or something.

At first glance, I do not like Batman's new cowl! He looks like he did in the really really old Detective Comics.

I'm surprised everyone prefers the JLA Batman design. I much prefer the bulked up look of TNBA, because it fits his image of being a fighter. Batman is the Dark Knight, so there should be a "fear factor" to his look. But Wayne's intense training and martial arts abilities are key to his character as well. The TNBA look showed a cold, menacing Batman that was one hell of a fighter. The JLA look has the fear aspect, but has lost the size that makes Batman so imposing. That doesn't seem right to me.

Well, Batman doesn't really have to be much of a fighter with the group he's got around him. I'm sure they'll keep that fighting aspect to him, but I'm willing to bet he's going to be more the brains of the JL than anything, the 'Detective'. I still stand by this design as my favorite so far...

Sure, I understand that. I'm saying that his size, as seen in BTAS and TNBA, is integral to his character. When I say that, I mean that it's well established how intense his training and conditioning was in preparation for being Batman. The JLA look doesn't indicate that. I don't think it's right to take that away. His detective skills and ability to strike fear in criminals were clearly evident in BTAS and TNBA, so I see no justification for slimming him down.

Maybe Superman had it written into his contract that only he could have a giant torso :p

Sigh. I need to get cable or a satellite dish. I'm going nuts missing the JLA previews, Samurai Jack, etc.

Forget the I must be proper and law abiding because I'm a god stuff, Maxie! I mean don't tell me you've pictured yourself looking down over the side of the cloud to catch some satalite and cable signals huh? ;) lol. Good luck with getting cable in time though, man. It would really suck for ANY of us fans to miss this.

My rating for Batman designs goes BTAS, TNBA, JLA. But be warned, I absolutely love them ALL, it's just that some more than others. I know the animation was hard to perfect, so there were a lesser number of wonderfully animated episoeds, but BTAS was the king.

I WANT him big, I WANT him bulky, and I love how the ears look because to me, the SHADOW of the bat is most important. It doesn't look as menacing with the longer ears that are slightly sideways, although I still love the JL design, don't get me wrong. The BTAS shadow REALLY does that for ya.

Don't worry everyone. The changes are slim, speaking of the cowl, so I'm sure once we see that it's really him, it's really Bruce under that mask, we'll all love the desing equally.

LOL! Says something about the power of AOL-TWX that even the King of the Gods trembles before them.

I couldn't tell how thin he looked in the preview. He still looked pretty similar (frame-wise) in the preliminary sketches for the Justice League show.

I'll miss the old ears, but the new ones are kind of neat. If anything, Timm probably wanted to provide a precedent for the shape of the ears on the Batman Beyond costume.

I love the new charcoal purple highlights on his costume. I liked the plain gray, but he needed a splash of color now that he'll be on every week with six more colorful characters.

After lamenting that Timm changed anything about his old look, I think most people will realize that he looks pretty good. I'll just miss that angluar shadow he always casted when he walked (sigh).

Another thing that i miss are those two lines on his face on either side of his mouth. They're putting more detail into everyone else, so why can't they put those back on Bats? I just though, w/ shadows and everything, he looked cooler.
