Looking back, I found a few interesting topics to comment on.
Beetlejuice: the Cartoon. I liked it lots. Plenty of great puns and wit. I liked that it was not the movie, though I personally didn't care for the whole Beetlejuice family stuff (Mom and Dad and brother). An episode I remember strongly is the one with the party that involved the people in a can. Silly, but creative stuff in that show. Not all that disgusting, either. So, BJ chomped a few bugs and could produce belches and fouls smells--that was not a far stretch from the movie character.
Hank, The Cow Dog--Don't recall a series, but do recall several of those made for Satam movies that involved the character.
Favorite comics--FBFW for its honest portrayal of people, Boondocks (sharp stuff), , Non Sequetur (good political humor) and on the funny side, Herman, Jump Start, Pickles, Buckles, Mother Goose and Grimm, Arlo and Janis and Rose is Rose.
Less than favorite comics--Garfield (sorry, but the current writing is cookie cutter unfunny), Peanuts (never was a great fan--except when Snoopy was trying to write novels), Doonesbury (always annoyed me, both art and writing wise).
Sonic Comics--I haven't read them for awhile. I liked the freedom fighter tie in to the toon, but I didn't care for some of the characters the comic added and I'd get bored when stories focused on them. Archie comics do know how to handle toon transitions, tho. Both Sonic and TMNT (tv version) were a zillion times better than the Real Ghostbusters comic that NOW produced. Boy, was that a stinker!
Lorenzo Music's passing--I didn't know about this til I read it here. That's too bad. Everyone seems to associate him with Garfield, but to me, his strongest character was Peter Venkman. He brought Peter to life in his portrayal and anytime I've heard Music's voice in a commercial (of which he did many), I've imagined Dr. V, not Garfield, saying the words. Talented guy with a unique voice. No replacing him.
