Many of you know that Clark Gable's munching on a carrot in It Happened One Night inspired the same behavior in Bugs Bunny. In case anybody missed the first running on AMC, it is repeating at 2:00 A.M et.

I watched it, but I thought that was just a rumor, or an urban legend. Good movie, though.... I thought it would have been Shapely that inspired it, he said "Doc".

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. If anybody out there hasn't seen it, you're really missing out!

I second Brian's endorsement of "It Happened One Night." Unlike some movies & cartoons, it deserved the Oscars it received (Best Picture, Actor, Actress, Director, Screenplay).

And to think that Warners repaid Clark Gable's contribution to Bugs Bunny by having Gable chase after a dolled-up Groucho Marx!

It was a great movie (so I guess that I "third" the motion), looked pretty good too, from what I've heard it usually looks like. It was witty, and funny, and interesting, something many movies aren't. I'd watch it again, and recommend it.

From what i understand some of Bugs' behavior wasn't patterned only after Gable's It Happened One Night performance but his everyday life on the Warner Studios lot. He was never all glitz and Hollywood glamour. He and Gary Cooper (Bugs Bunny Rides Again) used to hang out on the lot, just bein' guys, talkin' about cars & stuff... Gable was often seen chomping a carrot off the set, as well.
