View Full Version : Wonder Woman

This is probably one of the most repeated threads on this forum. Now it's my turn. Everyone wonders who would be great to play Wonder Woman when WB finally get all the neccesary ducks in order. Everyone talks about Sandra Bullock which I love, but I have a hard time buying her as Wonder Woman. Then there is Lucy Lawless but that seems to be a bit of a type cast being she played Xena, and the characters are somewhat similar.

So here is my choice.

Has anyone every thought of Nicole Kidman for the part. I know many of you are probaly thinking. "You idiot don't you remember Batman Forever. Yes I do, and to tell the truth as far as the live action Batman movies go that is my 2nd favorite behind the first movie. But think about it she is tall, good looking, has a decent body, she can act with a good american accent, and all she would really have to is dye her hair black.

Any thoughts.

Holla!

Sometimes the JL: TAS design for Wonderwoman reminds me of Catherine Zeta Jones. And I think she would be perfect to portrait the Amazon. Let's think:

she's tall, (maybe not so tall as we wish, but the guys in hollywood could make this happen)

she's beatiful,

she's got her hair black,

she's is latin, just like the greeks (ok, she's latin-american, but Penelope Cruz is latin-american too, and she portraited a greek woman in "Captain Corelli's Mandolin")

and she would work perfectly in action movies.

What do you think, folks?

How about Salma Hayek? :)

As soon as Salma opens her mouth, it's all over. Her accent and her voice throws the whole thing off...

I'm all for an incredible "unknown actress" who's still waiting to be discovered, but it somehow discovered just in time for this role. ;)

But, that's just me. :)

Young Justice:

Catherine Zeta Jones, I agree would be perfect. The JL design of Wonder Woman does remind me of her.

Dr. Mid-Nite:

Salma Hayek, I coudn't see as Wonder Woman. To me I think either her or Jennifer Lopez would be great as Talia if they ever brought her and Ra's Al Ghul into live action form.

Howdy,

The other problem with Salma Hayek is that she's about 5'2". They'd have to hire a bunch of midgets to play opposite her to make her look tall enough to pull off Wonder Woman.

Sad to say, I had the same reaction as SimonMoon5 when I saw the thread...

Does it even have to be a celebrity? The current trend is either find an unknown or find an actor (as opposed to a movie star) to play them.

That said, I kind of thought that Jennifer Connelly would be pretty sharp. Either her or an unknown Greek actress.

Actually Catherine Zeta-Jones is Welsh (as in from Wales), but I do think she'd do well as Wonder Woman. Her physical performance in The Mask of Zorro was very good IMO as well as in Entrapment so I think she'd make a good super hero, and as far as looks go I personally think she's one of the most attractive women out there.

It's about attitude not looks. They can look as much like her as they want, but if the attitude isn't there, they are just going to look silly in the skimpy costume, no more than simply candy for the boys.

Lucy Lawless is the best offer I've heard, although I'd support an unknown too.

Some good choices but I would vote for Jennifer Connelly for the role of WonderWoman.

:) LOL! Me too Simon! I was getting all fired up as the page loaded wondering what cave everyone has been living in for the past 16 years that they didn't know WW could fly.

I think Catherine Zeta Jones would be a fantastic choice, personally. Jennifer Connelly if she was given the right hairstyle and make up. I just think Zeta-Jones has a much more regal air about her, like I think WW needs.

I also think Zeta-Jones would be a good choice. If they ever plan an "Injustice for All" Justice League movie, I would cast her as Star Sapphire since she could play a villian more effectively and her accent is dead on for her character in the show. Still, she and Connelly are top choices right now.

Other possible choices for Injustice Gang members:
Solomon Grundy: Ralph Moeller (Gladiator)
Shade: Hugo Weaving (Matrix)
Cheetah: Jeri Ryan (Boston Public)
Copperhead: Joe Pantoliano (Matrix)

Hey if Salma would loose the accent, I think that she would be more than perfect for the job.

Jordan Bayne for WonderWoman

She's the actress all the rumor mills have been shouting about, and really, if they wanted to do a WW movie RIGHT, like they did with the first Superman movie, she's GOT to be in it.

I never even heard of the Jordan Bayne. So I looked up her site. Their is already a web site petitioning her to be the next WW. Actually, her reps are saying she is in serious contention for the part. Here is a link to her web site with pics of her.

I'd like to see Catherine Ztea-Jones as Wonder Woman, myself.
