Here are my faves:

Batman from Batman: TAS
Superman from Superman: TAS
Aquaman from Superman: TAS
Flash from Superman: TAS
Green Lantern from the Filmation toon
Wonder Woman from the Lynda Carter show

You said superheroes, and I know this is the Justice League board, but I liked Spider-Man from the 60's cartoon and the Incredible Hulk from the 80's toon.

BTAS and TNBA. A close second would be the Incredible Hulk television series from the 70's.

Batman from Batman: the Animated Series.
Batgirl from Batman: the Animated Series.
And maybe Robin (Dick Grayson) from Batman: the Animated Series.

And, uh, that's about it. No other TV version of superheroes have been worth a plug nickel compared to the comics versions.

Heh, heh...

Actually, except for Batman, the live-action series have been my favorites. Most of that is due to the actors' portrayal of the hero. George Reeves was not campy in the least and was a real "everyman." Lynda Carter was Wonder Woman. John Wesley Shipp brought a humility to the Barry Allan character that was very refreshing.

The only exception, of course, is Kevin Conroy's Batman. By far, he is the best Batman ever.

The Flash, Flash with John Wesley Shipp
Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman with Lynda Carter.

I also must include The Incredible Hulk with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno.

You know, I NEVER saw the animated Captain Marvel and I definitely was into cartoons -- especially super hero cartoons. When was it on and who carried it?

I don't remember a Captain Marvel Filmation cartoon. When was it on? I do remember the preachy, live-action show.

The Flash

Batman: BTAS
Robin: BTAS
Superman: STAS [EDIT: And the 1940's Superman cartoons. It's a shame that I forgot about those!]
Green Lanturn: STAS
Flash: STAS (The JL Flash is too friggin' air headed)

And I don't have a preference on the rest...

What's the Filmation stuff.
Did they actually make a Green Lantern cartoon? I would really like to see that. I know that they have a GL cartoon site at DCU but I was told that it was just a joke. I heard that the creation process of the GL cartoon began but was never finished. Can anyone fill me in cause I'm a huge GL fan!

Yeah, they made cartoons for most of the Justice League members.

You can see GL's sidekick Kairo here:
http://www.seanbaby.com/superfriends/greenlb.htm

and you can see some clips from the GL cartoon by clicking on the link to "Part Three" and then clicking on any of the "old school" links.

Batman: BTAS
Robin: BTAS
Green Lantern: STAS

I won't say much more about John Wesley Shipp as Barry Allen other than the fact that he was Barry Allen in name only. A greater injustice to the legacy of the Flash has never since been duplicated.

Now this is my kind of topic.

SUPERMAN
*The Adventures of Superman (1953) - This show gave us the definitive Clark Kent.
*The NEW Adventures of Superman (1966-1968) - NO ONE says "This is a Job For Superman!" better than the great Bud Collyer.
*Superman:TAS -Timm & Company does it again.

The BATMAN
*Batman:The TV Series (1966-1968) -Say what you want. That show made Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Alfred, Commissioner Gordon, the Bat-Rogue's Gallery, and the Bat universe house-hold names. Anyone remember what Batman & Robin were doing before the tv show? They were time-traveling, fighting aliens, planet-hopping, and being transformed into Bat-Apes and Bat-Aliens. The show may have been campy but it brought Batman "down to Earth" and mined the considerable gold from his Rouge's Gallery.
*Batman:TAS - Do I really need to say why?

The JUSTICE LEAGUE
*The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure (1967-1968) - My first introduction to the DC Universe. The Flash, Green Lantern, The Atom, Hawkman, The Teen Titans, and The JLA looked great. Especially the Justice League. Those three cartoons gave us a Superman who was a leader and a team that was without a doubt Earth's Mightiest Heroes. They came, they saw, they kicked alien invader ass.
*Justice League - After induring years of Wendy, Marvin, Zan, Jayna, and Gleek Comicdom's greatest super-team finally gets their respect back.

GREEN LANTERN
*The Justice League/In Blackest Night - I will always treasure the Filmation episode "Evil Is As Evil Does" but "In Blackest Night" is one hell of a story. John Stewart shows he is more than worthy to be a Lantern. As the Guardians said "We were wise when we offered you the ring. Thank you John Stewart". I thank Bruce W. Timm.

AQUAMAN
*The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure - Yes, several years before Hanna-Barbera messed him up Aquaman was cool. Those Filmation adventures were pure fun. Aquaman was no wuss in this series. Thank God for Peter David, Dan Jurgens, and Bruce Timm (JL-"The Enemy Below") for giving Aquaman his respect back and giving us a hero worth cheering for.

Don't forget the 1942 serial with Robert Lowrey and John Duncan. That wasn't bad. In fact, Mr. Duncan, who played Robin, is still alive and does comic book conventions. Just an interesting piece of trivia there!

And fish! Don't forget fish! lol. Yeah Adam West and Burt Ward's show helped Batman's name get out there, of course I don't like how the soon retiring baby boomers assume that campy version is how Batman really truly is. But hey, it paved the way for BTAS. :)

lol, well that blocky appearance was practically born on BTAS. I remember originally making fun of BTAS for being that way moreso. But I got to love them both thanks to the animation and stories.

With Batman I think everyone should see BTAS.
Spiderman: ONLY his early 90s series, despite it's occasional recycled animation and bad vocal editing.
Superman: SupermanTAS

And those are all the ones I care about mostly.

I can't believe that I forgot about the 1940's Fleischer Superman cartoons! This was probably my very favorite TV version of a superhero (even though it was never MADE for TV, per se,)

Simply the most exciting, fantastic incarnation of Superman to ever be animated or acted. EVER.

OK, my top five choices would be:

1. Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman!
2. Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman!
3. Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman!
4. Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman!

and, oh yes,

5. Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman!

I remember being in seventh grade when the series returned in syndication and aired every afternoon. Zap, boom, pow, indeed! I so wanted Lynda to pick me up in her invisible jet for a date! Still have a huge mad-on for her today! And Yvonne Craig as Batgirl also did something to me as well. But then again, neither are really <that> faithful to the comics version.

For that honor, I'd have to pick Batman: The Animated Series (IMHO, only behind The Simpsons as the greatest tv animated series in history). Oh, and can I throw in a vote for Melissa Gilbert's voice work as Batgirl in Seasons 2 and 3. Sigh, yet another turn on!

And I agree with the others here, Kevin Conroy IS Batman (sorry West, Soules, Keaton, Kilmer, and Clooney).

I enjoyed "Challenge of the Superfriends" as a kid (and it still floors me to think that if the series had returned for a second season, it would've featured Captain Marvel and the Monster Society of Evil!!! Hey, we're talking greatest H-B series ever here if that had happened).

And although it only lasted for about ten episodes, last fall's live-action Tick was great!!!

I like "The Flash" series starring John Wesley Shipp. Plus I also liked the "Superboy" series from the late 80s-early 90s. (Even though it was kind of silly sometimes.) Anyway, Flash was probably the most realistic superhero show ever made...where as Lois and Clark was kind of silly at times. Of course there's also the very realistic Smallville...and most likely Birds Of Prey will be pretty realistic as well. But only "The Flash" has seemed the most real to me out of all of the DC Comics tv shows I've seen. (That's not counting the movies...like the 1989 Batman film...because that was realistic too.) "Wonder Woman" from the 70s was just rediculous...and so was "The Adventures Of Superman." (But I do like both of those shows...but they were silly, ya got to admit...and the acting was really bad sometimes.) But "The Flash" was beleiveable in every way.

I don't remember a Captain Marvel Filmation cartoon. When was it on? I do remember the preachy, live-action show.

The animated version of Shazam! appeared on NBC's The Kids Super Power Hour with Shazam! It aired from Sept. 1981-Sept. 1982. The cartoons were short and featured the characters from the Shazam! comics including Mary Marvel and Captain Marvel Jr. Alan Oppenheimer (best known as the voice of Skeletor on the original He-Man) played the voice of Captain Marvel's arch-enemy Dr. Thaddeus Bodog Sivana.

Dude, the Shazam cartoon that you're talking about was part of Filmation's Kid Super Power Hour with Shazam, which ran from 1981-1982 on NBC. It also featured Hero High, an animated series centered around a high school full of superhero wannabes. The Hero High cast also participated in live-action musical numbers and skits throughout the show.
