they i do it now is after i'm done reading, i have to go into the "new thread" link and then click logout. i want to be able to logout without purposely clicking on "new thread" and then logging out.

Well, if you access the boards from forums.toonzone.net, you'll notice that in the lower right hand corner, under the currently active users, there's a link to log out...
Surely that should be easier than clicking on new post all the time =)

it is still a two step process in logging off. if i finish reading a particular thread and wanted to log off, i still had to click on "home" and then log off and that is just the same as clicking on the "new thread" link and then click "log off."

I agree with Oranthal. I've often forgotten to log off...
....and then there are times I often wanna just get off the net when I realize I gotta log off. All we need is the 'log off' option on every board and not the home page for the forums at least-we do not need it at every PAGE, just at every board.

Honestly, I never log off. Granted I'm on a personal computer and even if my brother did make some kind of stupid post from here I could delete it, but I still don't log off...
...and when I was at school, using the public computer labs for the boards, I didn't log off... but then I'm pretty sure I was the only person from my school accessing the site.
The way I see it, the way the Log Out features are set up works. Saying we need it on every board is just as well saying we need it on every page cuz eventually, if we do that, someone's probably gonna come around saying "Put a logout link on every page!" and while it may be easy to modify the template to include such a thing; a can tell you right now that with a bunch of other projects in the works (TZ related and personal life stuff), much of the TZ staff would not be able to get around to doing something like this for a few weeks anyway. I'm not saying it's a bad idea... just not a great one. does it really take that much extra energy to hit the back button a couple times to get to the last main menu you were at to log out? Does it really take that much time to just click "Toon Zone Forums" up in the top board section... I can understand if you are pressed for time and need to be someplace now... but otherwise, it's more of a convienience issue... a luxury that you'd like to have instead of a necessity....
...but, honestly, as I said before, that's only my take on it, not the general staff concensus...

I don't logout either. If you know nobody else will use this board, then there is really no point. It saves you the steps of logout and login.
So..if you know nobody will log in and out... then just stay logged in..that's my advice! :)

I DID want to never log off! (bad grammar alert...) But I thought I would look like an idiot if I did not....
...but then again, I can just make sure no one will know I'm on. Okay, I'll NEVER log off again!:D

I'm not sure if a log out link can be put on other boards. There are certain features which can only appear on the main page by design (like the currently active users list). But I'll look into it and see if it can be done.
