Corus Entertainment announced today, highlights of its Kids’ 2002/2003 television season. This fall, Canada’s leading group of specialty television services for kids - YTV, Treehouse TV and Discovery Kids - debuts 28 new shows and premiere brand new episodes of 39 returning series.
<a href="http://www.toonzone.net/shows/images/cartoon-network/samuraijack2.jpg"><img src="http://www.toonzone.net/shows/images/cartoon-network/t-samuraijack2.jpg" border=0 align="right"></a>Among the highlights, YTV launches Warner Brothers’ star-studded sitcom What I Like About You, featuring Jennie Garth (Beverly Hills 90210) and Amanda Bynes (Big Fat Liar, All That) and the acclaimed animated series that Canadian kids have been waiting for, Samurai Jack. From Nelvana comes the twisted animated series Moville Mysteries, voiced by Frankie Muniz (Malcolm in the Middle) and from Nickelodeon, the quirky series Fairly Odd Parents, with guest voices FRANKIE MUNIZ and JAY LENO. Canadian shows include the YTV-commissioned sitcom I Love Mummy and animated series, GirlStuff/BoyStuff from the makers of Zack Files and Angela Anaconda.
Corus’ commercial-free channel for preschoolers, Treehouse TV, launches several charming book-based series, most notably Nelvana’s The Berenstain Bears, based on 40 years of one of the world’s most popular collections of children’s stories. On Discovery Kids, teen star Michelle Trachtenberg (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Harriet the Spy) joins the channel as the host of the spooky new series Truth or Scare.

This fall, YTV expands its popular scary programming block, Dark Corner, to Friday and Saturday nights with the addition of a frightening new reality show, Fear, and new episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In addition, YTV is expanding its family weekend movie block, 3 Hairy Thumbs Up, to Saturday and Sunday afternoons with new feature films including Sabrina the Teenage Witch in Friends Forever and The King and I.
