View Full Version : Home made card
I want to make a home-made birthday card for my friend, but am sort of re-thinking it.
She likes the powerpuff girls, and wants to play bass guitar, so I was going to draw Buttercup (her favorite) playing bass. I don't want to seem like I'm being cheap. Like I could just get a card from the store, and a real present. What do you think?

My family, including me, usually makes cards on the computer from what is available on a boring program. However, if the event is a birthday or holiday, there are cards from different people, some store-bought, and some that are computer-made. Presents are a different issue.

I go the easy way and do the computer cards. ;)

I'd rather have something cool and unique than a store-bought card; plus, the time and effort it takes to make one is, IMHO, worth more than the money it takes to buy one.

I'm with lola on this one. In general, making a card shows more thought and effort than simply buying one.
Not to mention you save a few dollars in the process that can go towards the purchase of a present. :p

That would be really neat, I would appreciate the thought put into the card. I like making my own cards, but - 1) I'm not that creative and 2) I hardly have the time to create a well-thought out card that actually turns out nice. So, with that in mind, a card created by a friend would be really special since the person put time and effort into creating this card.
My favorite card of all time is a homemade card from my friend who used magazine cut-outs to make it. It made me feel appreciated as her friend and that our friendship means a lot to her.
