OK, I'm bored...

What's the difference between 'A Wild Hare' and 'The Wild Hare'?

(dates don't count)

"A Wild Hare" is the original title, "The Wild Hare" is the Blue Ribbon title. The new name takes away some of the cleverness of the original title (a play on the phrase "a wild hair"), but not as much as "Book Revue's" BR title does.

okay, besides sequence (which = dates, which don't count) and the title cards - are there differences in the body of the 'toon?

pls don't make me memorize them - there's just so may times I can remain interested in Bugs v. Elmer-the-hunter...

Oh, I think I just remebered one difference in content. The original had Elmer guess "Victoria Lake?" in a game of "guess who." Lake died before the cartoon was re-released, so the line was changed to "Barbara Stanwick?"

They were sensitive when it came to dead actors, angry actors, and outdated years.

I don't think you'll get a cookie --- it was actually Carole Lombard.

Maybe happyheathen will be nice, and at least give you a half of cookie or somethin'...

Yes, yes there are differences in the body of the cartoon. Well, okay, one difference. In the part where Bugs sneaks out from behind the tree and covers Elmer's eyes, the list of celebrities Elmer recites is different in "The Wild Hare." In the original cartoon, Elmer includes "Carole Lombard" in the list. But, Lombard tragically died in a plane crash before the cartoon was re-released, so when it was, Lombard's name was replaced with "Barbara Stanwyck." In fact, if you watch the cartoon closely, you can see that Elmer's lips aren't saying "Barbara Stanwyck," and his voice sounds slightly different (as "Barbara Stanwyck" was recorded at a later date than the other dialogue in the picture).

Not sure quite what you mean by this, though. I hope I didn't bore you with my explanation.

Awww nuts, I knew it was a redubbed line, but I just couldn't remember the exact names. I had to take a wild guess (also known as THE wild guess)... I think her real name was Veronica Lake too, so I even got my wrong guess wrong.

For trying, Jack, you'll get a cookie any way! Just as long as Bosko can keep these black frogs away from me! :p :p
