Tom and Jerry: The Magic Ring

Amazon.com is now taking pre-orders for the new direct-to-video Tom and Jerry animated feature from Warner Bros.: Tom and Jerry: The Magic Ring. The release date is December 4, 2001. Does anyone know if the duo are going to talk in this movie? I sort of hope not. It can't be impossible to make an antire movie where the two main characters don't speak (aside from yells and occasional asides).

That sounds a lot more promising than the LT movies. But....there's been very little publicity for this, and remember the *LAST* "Tom and Jerry" movie. That made the THEATERS and it was terrible. If Tom and Jerry could keep their mouths shut, stay the same age and be violent, it sounds like we got ourselves a movin' picture thar, boys!

This sounds promising. I wonder who else is going to be in that game. Hmm, some of my predictions are Uncle Pecos and Toodles...

Also, Brian Cruz told us that a "little birdie" told him that T&J would not talk in the movie. Wouldn't it be nice if they brought back Mammy? They could re-name her, and even redesign her, I just bring her back. I still don't get why CN doesn't show them, even when they're dubbed and edited. I know they STILL play a Cow and Chicken cartoon with a stereotypical black blues singer.... how sick is that?

Tom and Jerry won't talk in this new movie. It is being made by the same team who worked on The Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries and Tweety's High-Flying Adventure. That's about all I know...

That's wonderful news!!!! Tom won't sound like he's on helium and Jerry won't sound like a raspy-voiced little girl!!!! This movie looks very promisong now, at least it will be somewhat faithful to the characters. I wonder what it will look like, if it will look more like an old H-B cartoon, or something totally different.

Tom and Jerry's curiosity get the best of them when a magic ring that Tom was supposed to guard with his life winds up stuck over Jerry's head. Now, Jerry must find a way to free himself of the ring while fleeing from Tom - who wants to take it off any way he can.
Well, this is the same description that I think Jerry Beck's site gave, but it sounds like something you'd see in an old H-B Tom and Jerry cartoon, like from the "Two Mouseketeer" cartoons.

I'll at least rent it.
