Yeah, they're so hilarious that MGM had to rip them off.

But for me, I voted for Porky Pig. He's the only one from WB, so that makes the choice easy.

How did MGM rip them off? The MGM was a cat & mouse

Yes, but the character names are exactly the same! Using the names should have been copyright infringement.

I vote went for "Flip The Frog"....

Listen, neither RKO'S or MGM'S cartoon teams were rip offs of each other. When home movie distributor OFFICAL FILMS bought the Van Bueren library, they quickly changed Tom And Jerry to Dick And Larry so there wouldn't be any kind of confusion between both cartoon series.

Sveven, as I recall Tom and Jerry were named through a contest held in the MGM animation dept. I think that the names were picked randomly out of a hat. Tom and Jerry aren't exactly uncommon names. For example: My dad's name is Tom and his best friend is named Jerry, as I've pointed out to Dad a few times in the past. If you have any proof that the guys at MGM decided to steal a name from a cartoon that, at the time, had been discontinued due to unpopularity, and use that name of that failed series to promote their own (which makes absolutely no sense) please submit it. Otherwise, stop making up stories.

I've been amused by the one original Tom and Jerry I've seen, but the fact that only 26 were made over the course of a few years doesn't suggest to me that the name would be worth taking to promote your own cartoon, esp. when your cartoon is about a cat and mouse who couldn't possibly be confused with the original team, who were human.

I voted for Porky Pig. In my opinion, out of all of the major WB stars, Porky Pig is the least merchandised. The only plush toys I found of him was a doll that I won in a claw machine, and WBSS beanbag.

I think the pre-code Betty Boops are great, especially the ones with Cab Calloway!

This one was sooooooo hard because there were 3 charaters on the list I really like(Porky,Mickey and Popeye).

But Because I think Mickey was at his best in the 1930's I voted for him.
Porky and Popeye didn't really lose their personnalites so I could of picked them in a pool for 40's or 50's charaters!
