Probably Bats vs. Supes because it's actually been greenlighted. Although, I would have preferred Batman: Year One (pretty obvious, huh?) :D

For the past two years it was pretty generally expected that YEAR ONE would be the next Bat-movie made. The perfect reboot to the entire franchise.

But now that BATMAN/SUPERMAN is on the way, I'd say that one is the most likely to be made, with YEAR ONE a year or two later.

As for CATWOMAN and BATMAN BEYOND, I don't see either of these being made for a very, very long time. We'll see three or four more animated films come out before either of those are filmed.

Lets hope Catwoman doesn't happen, the first time I read the script overview I thought it was some kind of joke or spoof...it sounds TERRIBLE. I mean Catwoman's name it in was to be Patience Price? Her murdered mother named Constance? wha? Do those names have relevant meanings to the script? Like that on every page it was constansistantly bad or that you have to have patience to get thru reading it without putting a gun to your head? haha...awful sounding movie though.

The way I heard it the WB actually wanted to go with Year One a while ago but Miller and Arronofsky were dragging their collective feet on the project and took waaay too long developing it, so to have at least one high profile superhero flick for their 2004 summer release, the execs had no choice but to go with Petersen and his Bat's v Sups or risk loosing him to another picture too.

So I guess every once in a while a few bad seemingly bad decisions actually aren't the WB's fault.

Who'd a guessed??

I honestly don't expect to ever see a BB live action movie - mainly because the WB doesn't seem to want to have anything to do the property (cancelling the series, not releasing series DVD's past the first release, editing ROTJ, etc...)

As for Catwoman - I really didn't want to see that movie made and have been hoping that either the project would be killed or that a new script would be written to tie it into either the comics or Batman Returns.

Batman Year One sounded like the most promossing feature to be in development and Batman vs Superman carries a lot of personal doubts. Hopefully the WB will steal a page from Marvel's movie handbook and give us a movie that blows us all away.

It's hard to be certain. Look how quickly the Superman/Batman team up suddenly pounced on us *pounce*. They deliberate BB/Year One back and forth on and off then greenlight an entirely different concept!

Never say never. The industry is so fickle and seemingly so oblivious to customer demand/interest.

Didn't anyone actually READ my post?

I just explained why this happened.....Miller and Arronofsky were too slow in development so the WB went with Petersens Bat/Supes project becuz he was about to move on to something else becuz of the wait

People are so quick to blame the WB, and don't get me wrong I'll be the first one on that bandwagon when it's their fault but this time I think they made the right decision based on the circumstances.

Well we all know Batman vs Superman is in the works right now. And the places that keep giving updates and hints about that movie keep talking about how Batman Year One and a Superman movie are still in the works, and wondering which one, after Batman vs Superman comes out, will be next to start.

Yeah, if the WB would have waited for Year One, they might have been lucky to have 2 major superhero pictures actually in the works, (only Year One and Superman) instead of now having all three poised to be made with Petersen's clout and Bat/Sup giving much needed cred to Year One and Superman's possible success.

Cuz I bet you if they hadn't greenlight B vs S when they did Petersen would've left the project all together and that would be a shame to me anyone now that I'm really looking forward to his take on The Man of Steel :D :D

I hope they don't make Batman:Year One cause its stupid i mean they already made one its called "Batman" Starring Micheal Keaton. Am i the only one that remembers in that movie Batman was new and no one ever heard of him before.

The 1989 Batman wasn't Batman: Year One. That was Tim Burton's take on Batman. They want to make Year One to restart the franchise because no film deserves to be connected with Batman & Robin. I take it that you haven't read Batman: Year One, so I would suggest that you do. It is highly acclaimed as the ONLY Batman origin story that matters. It's a terrific read and you should really give it a chance. You won't be dissapointed.

I wasn't make specific accusations. I know - as did most of the media - that Batman: Year One and Batman Beyond were possibly in the works. There was no mention in any of the outlets that I can recall reading mentioning a Batman/Superman movie. Then suddenly there is this sweeping move to the second project regardess of the reason.

I wasn't blaming WB I was making a sweeping statement that Studios happily leap from one project to another at a whim with no clear tests with the public. However, I will lump some blame WB anyway now you've mentioned it! :)

IMO, I reckon this Superman/Batman idea is a potentially bad move. I don't think it was a wise choice and the studio may have bitten off more than it could chew. BB or Year One was fesible. Switching to this so quickly may kill the franchise.

I appreciate your point about the need to keep the momentum on the franchise rolling, but this is a dangerous choice and if it fails it will be another Bat movie to have failed. That is enough to secure the coffin lid for another 10 years and maybe even cause a stand back from studios across the board in regards to Superhero projects.

I hope I'm wrong, but this is going to be one of the hardest movies PERIOD to create profiently. I don't envy anyone involved in this one. This is going to be tough.
