Miyu, Lain, and FLCL are too short, unless they decided to run one after another in alternating order. If they do that, I'd love to see Petshop of Horrors tossed in there. ^^
I'd also love to see Yami no Matsuei, but it's not available yet and the yaoi overtones ::coughMurakicough:: probably wouldn't fly too well. Weiss Kreuz would be great. Flower shop assassins! ^^ And damn them for never finishing the third OVA...

Problem with Kruez is that there's just NO way the choppy animation would fly.Even a diehard anime fan like me has trouble watching that.

::sigh:: I know. I will admit, the animation on that show bites until the two OVAs, Verbrachten (I know I spelled that one wrong...o.o;;;; ) and Strafe. THEY stand no chance in hell of being shown because of the blood levels. Anyway, I didn't mention Gensomaden Saiyuki for the same reason. The animation for the TV series is pretty bad.

Isn't this the 8-billionth time this topic has been brought up? Heh....How long do you think it'll go before Matt closes this thread? C'mon! We've already discussed this topic so much! We dont need a new variation of this thread every month....
EDIT/ADDITION: It's the very last rule in the Newbie FAQ's!! This topic has already been done a BUNCH...and us veteran's aren't kind about hearing the same crap over n' over again.

Heh heh well any anime with sharp pointy objects or fuzzy creatures with teeth.
And if there so up tight with not showing anime on Adult Swim why can't they have a die hard Otaku night or something.
Just curious.

Trigun
Gundam X or ZETA
Ruroni Kenshin
Adult Swim "Movies" - Every last Saturday of the Month, they have a movie either from 11-1 or 12-2. If there's extra time left CN can make their own little Action shorts.
That's all I can think of that actually has a chance on Adult Swim

Besides whats already been mentioned:
Arjuna (Because in my opinion it's one of the best animes ever and it's mature enough for ASA)
Noir (I only saw up to episode 10, and if it gets as dull as many say it is, I don't want to pay to see that)
Abenobashi Shopping District (if the rest of the series is as funny but action packed as the first few episodes I've seen, it'd be cool for ASA I think)
Onegai Teacher (Technically more of a comedy, but it's got the same amount of action as Tenchi, and it ran on ASA.)
Read Or Die (Short but, chock full of action. Maybe rotate it with some other short OVAs.)
Tenchi Muyo OVA 3 (Better ASA with less editing than toonami with more editing. Besides, if it's as good as the other Tenchi OVAs, it'd be great.)
Tenchi Muyo GXP (Again, Better ASA with less editing than toonami with more editing. It's funny, but has some great action to back it up.)
I would really like to see Exo Squad on ASA. I realize that it is not really anime (ok... not at all really) but it was a very good series that ran durring the mid 90's. It dealt with rather heavy issues, most prominantly the evils of racism, and had an excellent sequential story arc (ie. serialized, one episode connects to another and so on..). I really doubt that ASA would get this though, oh well :(

Hmmm...Onegai Teacher.Nothing worth editing. It's not great (REALLY falls apart in the end) but worth at least 1 viewing.I'll agree with that one.
Read or Die would be kickass and only thing thta would need to be edited would MAYBE be the pencil to the eye in the last episode.

Eh, I don't know, you don't actually SEE anything at that point. However, given what we know of previous editing standards (see: Cowboy Bebop), the "aftermath" of that scene would have to get the snip-snip (though standards could certainly change by that time). Along with perhaps one or two other scenes over the course of the series.
Other than that, though, I can't see why it couldn't air. Except for the fact that we have no clue about Manga's stance towards putting their anime on broadcast TV.
And while we're throwing around short OVA series as possibilities, might as well put FLCL into the mix, too.

I coulda sworn Bandai got ROD.
Anyway me and a girl at Synch-Point email me eahother back and forth (let me explain,I emailed once iwth questions and suggestions and she asked if I got fansubs as they came out so I answered yes so now I basicaly tell her if a series is good from a fans perspective, kinda cool) and she's told me numerous times that they're trying their damnbest to gest FLCL on AS.She says its all gonna depend on the DVD sales though.CN doesn't know if fans will like the breakneck style of the show and all the cultural references but if the DVD sells good CN will pick it up.

Nope, Manga got it. Much to the chagrin of anime fans everywhere. However, their announcement of all three eps being released on one DVD pretty much blew everyone away. If they can just manage to release it when they say they will, not muck with the content any, and ensure that the video is of the utmost quality, we might actually have a decent release from Manga on our hands.
That's an awful lot to hope for, though. *crosses fingers*

Wow, that's great news, assuming it's true. (No offense intended to you personally, mind you, I just have a habit of being terribly skeptical unless I can read some proof for myself.) S-P's a pretty small company currently, though, and I could certainly see someone having personal communication with them. If true, it's great to hear that they're very open to anime on broadcast TV. Let's hope the DVD sales are really good.
Assuming that they could actually manage to, um, you know...release the DVDs. ;)

Email them yourself and you'll get an email back in less then a day.
And the pusbacks we're all for the best. They see all the stuff like fans ocmplaining about a mispell in the Slayers subs and they can't afford reissues so they're making sure the DVD's are exactly perfect but they keep finding flubs. The frst pushback was because halfway through episode 2 the audio got synched off by half a second :(

Oh, I realize that. 'Tis what the ;) was for. I don't have too much of a problem with the delays (though I think they should seriously consider taking a page from ADV in not announcing release dates until the DVDs are in replication), but it's just become somewhat of a running gag at this point...
"Oh, it's the 25th of the month? Time for FLCL to be delayed again."

Well, I think I speak for all of us when I say that Big O 2 would be pretty sweet indeed.
Z Gundam and Trigun.
If AS showed Hentai, it would be part of "AS late night" or (after Eva is on AS) AS XXX.
Karl Olson

On Big O 2: It'd definetly be cool, but I have a feeling it's gonna to Toonami unless CN gets that Big O's fanbase skews towards adults. If does end up on ASA, I hope they run it early in the block so it can build a fanbase.
On FLCL: It'd definetly be awesome to see on ASA. I can also see WS worries on it though. It's got a lot of action, but it's very different to anything ever run on Cartoon Network or anywhere on US TV for that matter. The transition between the various styles of animation, the manga panels and overall style could put off the casual viewer I suppose.
On Abenobashi: I've just watched some more of the series, though it's totally hilarious, it's also really pushing for ASA because it's a little perverted at times (but, no nudity so I guess that helps sort of), and a ton of it's humor is pop culture references (Legend ot Drunken Master, Mortal Kombat, Pokemon, Mahoromatic, Gundam, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Ceres, Fantasy RPGs, Bebop, even DBZ is referenced), and it also gets fairly hyper in it's style (sorta reminicent of FLCL in that way) and since WS is holding of on FLCL because of it's cultural references and it's style, that means that Abenobashi could be out too.
On Read or Die: Yeah Manga got it, but it sounds like they are really trying to do a good job of it, so it might work out. I hope if they do put together a movie version for theaters, they have both the OVA version and the movie version on the DVD (like endless waltz). I guess this is a wait and see thing though.

I would like to see Hellsing on AS:Saturday but I don't think it ever will and if it does it will be cut to death. Too much religous stuff, blood and killing for CN. So I would have to go with Trigun perfect for AS:Saturday.

It doesn't downgrade any religion so what's the problem?
And I can't think of any cuts outside of MAYBE some of the brutality in the middle arc.The violence is usually fairly bloodless, just bullet wounds and it's all on zombies so it doesn't really matter.

Toonami shows we've all seen 10,000 times?!
An incredibly lame, cliche, immature anime thats insanely overrated?
A show that was directed at kids when it was melded and rewritten for the US? (although frankly I have no idea how mature the original Macross/Southern Cross/Mospeada are)
Won't even bother commenting on that last one.
C'mon, you want an Adult Swim thats actually adult, don't you? One with shows that are actually new? ;) :p
