Have any of the '90's shorts been aired on CN or Boomerang? I saw on a binary ng where Pullet Surprise aired in the UK. What about the USA? Specifically I'm thinking about Pullet, Little Go Beep, Father of the Bird and Another Froggy Evening.

Thanks!

Sadly enough, no, not yet... Unless you count the ones from the earlier Nineties.

It was mentioned here that "Pullet Surprise" aired before "Cats Don't Dance" on Cartoon Network in late June 2002.

Pilmedium~

Good point, I'd forgotten that. I saw it in the theater that same way.

"CarrotBlanca" and "From Hare To Eternity" have both aired, but only on the "June Bugs" marathon.

CN can only play the 1990s Looney Tunes cartoons on special ocassions (like June Bugs) because they do not have rights to them.

I would think they would have teh rights to them , since CN is an AOL/Time Warner company - unless, that is, Chuck Joned Productions retained the rights. Don't really know...

Maybe so, but Cartoon Network does not have any prints of certain cartoons in their network library, even if the head company owns them and keeps them elsewhere.

I would have thought that CN owned rights to all the Looney Tunes.

No, they just say they have all of them, they really just have whatever WB lets them have. They don't seem to have any Bosko, Buddy, post Harman-Ising black and white Merrie Melodies, black and white Looney Tune one shots, or various other odd 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s cartoons either. Though, CN could just be lying about it, maybe they really do have all those cartoons in Atlanta. We can never know for sure :(

Well, I thought they did because in the ToonHeads "Lost Cartoons" special, they showed a B&W Merrie Melodie, the Bosko pilot, Private Snafu & Mr. Hook shorts, early live-action studio gag reels, and clips of a live-action short directed by Chuck Jones.

But maybe they just got that stuff for the special occasion??

Unfortunately, CN airs a Private Snafu short on the "Toon Heads: Cartoon News Reels" episode (scheduled for rebroadcast August 18- which, sadly, marks the final Sunday Morning "Looney Tunes Show" airdate as well.)
And there are black-&-white "Looney Tunes" that deserve to air in the daytime hours, but CN either doesn't air those cartoons they only have in black-&-white like they should or they feature one of those awful 'redrawn' versions instead of the more suitable (if they don't have the Computer-Colorized version available) black-&-white release.
Of course, this past Sunday, "Porky's Pooch" aired on CN in black-&-white. Hopefully, CN will get their act together and start airing more black-&-white "Looney Tunes"- specifically, those cartoons the network currently doesn't have Computer-Colorized versions- on their daytime "Looney Tunes Shows". The sooner the better, I say!
Black-&-white or Computer-Colorized- and UNCUT!!!!!!! The only way to air those "Looney Tunes" of the early golden era on CN!! :( :bosko:

Cartoon Network really needs to gain access to the 1941-1943 B&W one-shots. I consider those some of the rarest WB cartoons.
"Black and White is to Computer colorized like Uncut is to Edited." :(

Yep - we need those too. I'd personally like to see more Buddy!

I read somewhere here that Pullet Surprise will air before "Cats Don't Dance" on CN in late August. Any truth to this? I can't confirm on the CN site.

The last time "Cat's Don't Dance" aired, it had "Pullet Surprise" attached to the beginning. I doubt CN owns the rights to air the short, and it was probably just attached to the copy of "Cat's Don't Dance" that Warner Bros. sent to them as if it were part of the film. I can't confirm that it will air again, but it is very likely.
