...after finishing the last cartoon, perhaps I should have been looking at today's show more closely. Lesson to be learned...you cannot post a report until you've seen the ENTIRE show. So the previous post will be re-edited at the earliest instance.

OK, explaination on this thread so far...
...I know many of you who watch the ACME HOUR are so eager to post the report upon the showing of the main titles to the final cartoon. But when it comes to themed shows like the one that aired today, you have to watch the ENTIRE show closely to get the hint of what it's about.
Cartoon Network had me fooled. Until the final short, I thought today's show was going to be variations of the classic fable "The Three Little Pigs". I was wrong.
The final cartoon didn't have that parody...instead, we had the Wolf. Only then did I know that the theme of the cartoon wasn't "Three Little Pig-sty" (as in the original version of my initial post), but "Big Bad Wolf Trouble", as the Wolf appeared in ALL today's shorts.
Moral...never post a report until you see what EVERY cartoon on the Acme Hour has in common.
Sveven, if you're watching, it wasn't you that had me...it was CN!

And for Mr. Dvorking, the COMPLETE contents. (although I still don't see what's wrong with missing ONE title and picking it back up 10 minutes later)
Looks like Three Little Pigs cartoons today!
(except for the last one, but keeps in the "fairy tales" theme of this AH)
"Pigs in a Polka" (WB)
"One Ham's Family" (MGM, Tex Avery)
"Three Little Bops" (WB)
"The Windblown Hare" (WB)
"The Three Little Pups" (MGM, Tex Avery)
"Foney Fables" (WB, dubbed version)
"FOOD HOARDER! SHE'S A FOOD HOARDER!!!!" (hehe)

I guess this means that later in the week, we'll probably get repeats of those great ACME Hours that Jack requested. A Hubie and Bertie ACME Hour, A Three Bears Acme Hour, and a Marc Anthony/Pussyfoot ACME Hour. At least, I hope so, because that would be awesome!

It seem to me that it's an exact match. The same cartoons, played in the same order.
>>1. "Pigs In A Polka" (one-shot, WB, MM, BR w/o credits, dubbed)
2. "One Ham's Family" (one-shot, MGM)
3. "Three Little Bops" (one-shot, WB)*
4. "The Windblown Hare" (Bugs, WB, LT)
5. "The Three Little Pups" (officially a one-shot, but featuring Droopy and the Wolf, MGM)
6. "Foney Fables" (one-shot, WB, dubbed)<<
I don't know how I managed to not see "One Ham's Family" before, but I actually never did see it before today. What a bad cartoon! It was obvious Tex was trying to create another Bugs Bunny for his new employers at MGM (the cartoon was from 1943, Tex's first year there), but this character was completely unlikable. There were a few good gags, but when that little pig would appear on the screen, the humor would be sucked out of the cartoon.
Even though I've seen "Windblown Hare" before, it never ceases to make me laugh out loud. One of McKimson's best.

Let's say the final cartoon in Acme Hour is a WB pre-48 cartoon with original titles, and no a.a.p. logo. Is the cartoon a "dubbed version", because it has no a.a.p. logo? 8 out of 10 times it is a "Dubbed Version". However, I've seen pre-48 undubbed cartoons minus the a.a.p. logo.
Like election returns, he question is whether we should call a cartoon "dubbed" before the closing titles air. If I had composed my post on Notepad, I too would have made the same error, by saying it was a Three Little Pigs AH.
Obviously, some of us, like myself, don't have Acme Hour on in the same room as the computer, and must go ahead and compose the post, while the show is in progress. I did not compose a post in Notepad, because I decided to compose it during the final cartoon.
I didn't watch the final cartoon today. Had I posted, I'd have made the same error. The point being that we should wait until the final cartoon ends before posting. Otherwise, there is a risk of error.

Pigs in a Polka (WB)
One Ham's Family (MGM)
Three Little Bops (WB)
The Windblown Hare (WB)
The Three Little Pups (MGM)
Foney Fables (WB)
I told you I would not be around today! I arrived home at 3:34 PM, way too late to post the Acme Hour. But I'll be back! :D
As to why CN decided to throw in Foney Fables, maybe they are trying to be as unpredictable as Kids WB.
Today we got an extra WB instead of a Popeye. :)
How is The Three Little Pups officially a one-shot, if one of the pups is even named Droopy?!
If a pre-48 cartoon has no AAP titles, 19 out of 20 times it is dubbed on CN. I hate dubbed versions (and so do most people here, I'm sure)
Now I've got the "Three Little Bops" theme stuck in my head.

Argus, thanks for coming to my defense and backing up my statement!

The last cartoon (which I missed, having gotten online before the show ended) sounds odd man out--otherwise "A Wolf in Cheap Clothing" would've been a perfect theme title. I suppose a third Avery short--say, "Blitz Wolf" or something with Red--would've been too much to ask....
"One Ham's Family" has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. I love the repeated use of "sucker!" signs, and the wolf's staccato laugh. "You and me both, sister!"
Fav line in "The Three Little Pups": "Don't ask us how we got the TV back." Vintage Avery. Does the tune the wolf whistles have a name? That one'll be with me all day tomorrow. Also, that's the same wolf from "Billy Boy" and another short where he plays a schoolteacher, so he's no one-shot...shot...shot...shot....

Does the tune the wolf whistles have a name?
I believe in Joe Adamson's book on Avery it's identified as "Jubalio" which apparently was a Civil War-era tune. Someone who has direct access to the book can confirm it, but if I remember right, it's in the section where Tex talks about the creation of the character and Daws Butler's voice that H-B later used for Huckelberry Hound.
