I made what probably will be my last trip to a Warner Bros Studio Store. The OKC one shuts down in September and are already selling off the fixtures. I about half wanted to stock up on PPB stuff, but limited myself to a set of three pins of them as their rock band. They also had Digimon cards, for some insane reason, and at two bucks for a full deck plus some extra packs, I decided to investigate. I don't have anyone to play with, but this sounds like an easy game to win.

But the real prize was the last Pinky and the Brain goodies in town. From somewhere in the back came four battered boxes of a laser cannon pen holder. If you push a button, the pen lights up, or it would if its battery wasn't six years old. P&B stand before this contraption looking pleased. I can already see the flaw in this plan; they should stand behind the cannon, not in front. I nabbed the only box with cellophane windows. Not bad, a pen for three bucks. I mean, I could go to Wally World and get dozens for that price, but they won't be P&B.

Also got CCS and MST3K videos. Might post reviews as I watch them. A nice weekend in all.

The WBSS in Indianapolis closed down a few weeks ago; however, when I went there during its last few days, all they had left was a pile of Powerpuff Girls stuff, Flintstones/Jetsons beanbag dolls, and Poison Ivy coffee mugs (with ugly-looking oversized handles). Didn't feel compelled to buy anything. There were signs there saying the giant Batman/Superman statues and the "Looney Tunes-as-Indy 500" racers giant statues that were outside the store weren't for sale (said statues of those consisting of Daffy in a race car with "Acme"/etc.-type logos plastered over it, and a statue of Bugs holding a racing helmet in one hand and taking a winning trophy/kiss from Honey Bunny [remember *her*?])...

However, at T.J. Maxx (a discount clothing dept. store chain), the toy section had a few school supply kits of the PPG's...the items consist of: three pencils, one for each girl; a pad of paper with Buttercup wearing sunglasses on it; what looks like an eraser with Blossom and a bunny on it; a folder with the girls playing musical instruments (presumably related to some ep I haven't seen, save for a clip of while at the WBSS when it was playing on the video screen); and a pencil/pen case(?) with the girls punching out three seperate foes: Mojo Jojo, some tall and short green guys, and some pink guy with antennas and fur. THe going price was between $5 - $10, IIRC....

Of course I remember Honey Bunny; she's become a key char in TTAFF. In the currently running fanfic novel A Time To Every Purpose Unto Heaven, she's married to Bugs & she is not happy about Space Jam. But things look like they're being ironed out in that area. She still could be friendlier to Lola, but she's trying. The ep of PPGs with the musical instruments is probably Mime For a Change, which originally aired on February 3, 1999, the 40th anniversary of the day the music died, & my dad's 67th birthday. It's the ep where a clown gets bleached & turns into a mean mime determined to cleansed Townsville of all color. Bubbles is the main hero of this one, but imo it's not right what happens to the bad guy @ the end. I'm not the only one who thought so, as there was a PPGs fanfic linked to the old storyboard, a sequel to this ep. It was a Batman crossover, with the clown's case being pled by the Joker of all people. Oh, & the other villains were the Gangrene Gang (Arturo, Big Billy, Globber, Snake, & I forget thee name of the other guy) & Fuzzy Lumpkins who was in one of the 2 pilot eps. I can't believe SL didn't get here first to answer those q's.

The Gangrene Gang consists of Ace, Snake, Big Billy, Little Arturo, and Grubber.

I think I linked the fan comic from the Pokey Oaks Fanfic Library. There's quite a few there worth investigating, like Blossom having nightmares or Bubbles being a naturist. Check anything done by "Chris Cook" and you should hit gold. He's actually been hooked up with Scholastic (I think) and does PPG drawing professionally now, which is rare for a fan artist.

That online comic is entitled 'Clowning Glory.' Here's the link:

Apparently, it was written 'cause author Detective Kemper thought Rainbow got a raw deal at the end of 'Mime For A Change.' Which is my view too- the poor guy never asked to have that bleach dumped on him.

And yes, any PPG comic by Chris Cook is definitely worth a look, if you like the series at all. My personal favorite is 'The Powerpuff Girls Meet Frankenstein'- *not* the kind of story it sounds like! But read for yourself:
