I don't think I've ever seen him give an animated movie thumbs down?

Yes, he has given some negative reviews for animation. But at most, only marginal thumbs down. Being animated already merits an extra star in Ebert's grading scheme.

Geez, you mean he'd even give something like Trumpet of the Swan or that animated Titanic movie good reviews>?

He gave SWAN a thumbs down. But he is leanient on animation. ALl four summer animated films got the thumbs up from him.

Then I guess the only other question is what do other critics think of all four animated movies this summer?

Ebert is a fan of animation so it is a bit obvious he'd be a bit leanient towards them. Although ATLANTIS, FF, and OSMOSIS JONES's gross won't add up to half of SHREK's almost $260 mill intake it's nice to know that even though they failed to do spectacular business, they weren't that bad.

Despite the name of the place, it's a collection of reviews gathered from numerous newspapers and the net. Very helpful in finding out what the general critic concensus is...
