After picking up and watching the new Superman: The Move DVD (one of the best DVD's I've ever seen, plus the added scenes only made the already great movie even better). I'm now left wondering with the future looking bright for comic related films, Hollywood's interest in remakes of classics, and Batman getting the year 1 treatment. Should WarnerBros drop the seemingly ill-fated "Superman Lives" concept and do a Superman 1 remake which would put the movie more in line with current DC continuity?

Mr. Obsession, who wishes he was credited in Superman: The Movie as "pimp" :D

Warner Brothers should never have seriously considered doing Superman Lives in the first place. And Nicholas Cage as Superman? Give me a break!

Yes, I think they should redo Superman from the beginning. And they should give serious consideration to finding an actor who is appropriate for the part, even if it is a no-name actor. They did pretty well with Christopher Reeve.

That's definitely the way to go. Heck, it works for Spiderman's Ultimate series comics. Besides, we take the characters so far, and so well, we forget we've got new generations to tell these amazing stories too! Not to mention just plain old new fans.

Am I the only one who thinks that they should bring back Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher for a Superman movie?

Hi Joker85!

No, you are not the only one who would like to see Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher come back to do another Superman project. I'll admit that I'm a huge fan of Lois and Clark, and I get my butt out of bed every morning at 8:00 am to catch reruns on TNT. I also make sure that I catch [i[Superman: The Animated Series[/i] every evening at 6:30 pm on the Cartoon Network and whenever a Chris Reeve Superman film is shown on TV. I love all interpretations of Superman!

However, I may differ from you in that I would like to see Cain and Hatcher do a follow-up movie (or a few--that would be nice) to the series. I'd love to see the whole cast come back so we can see what all of the characters have done in the past several years and answer some questions left dangling from the show. As for a big-screen movie, I would like to see an all-new (or mostly new) cast. Some cameos from actors in either the Reeve films or the TV series would be cool, though. Also, if I remember right, I thought that there was some talk of Cain reprising the role once Nic Cage left the project. I wouldn't mind that, though, although a new Superman would be nice, too. I guess we'll have to wait and see! :D

Have a new day!

I'd rather see a movie based on Superman: For All Seasons, but with the gaps between books filled in. it's the best origin revision so far.

they would probably go with somebody younger if they were restarting the franchise. it would make good sense to cast a young actor with very little movie recognition, someone from tv, maybe. that dosent mean they'll do it though. they tried nick cage, remember.

If they were to adapt a comic book for the next Superman movie, I agree that the Seasons stories would make for a great movie, but if they were to go for an original story, I would prefer that they started at square one and built it from there. Haven't there been talks for that already? To make Krypton a much more interesting looking world (ala Byrne's revision of the planet in his Superman comics). To see a Superman movie with all those other fake Supermans in it would turn me off. Give me the classic Superman, the Superman that made the animated series so great and thrilling. That's what I want to see. Forget these modern revisions we've seen in the past few years in the DC Universe titles.
