In honor of Bugs Bunny's 62nd birthday, we here at the TTTP (Jack, Matthew, and myself) thought it would be fun to compile a list of our favorite funny Bugs Bunny moments (yes, we are blatantly stealing the idea from every recent issue of the TV Guide). We had to do something special for Bugs' birthday! :)
Our goal is to have a list of the 50 moments by Saturday (Bugs' birthday).
Let's have everybody contribute their favorite Bugs moments, but please ONLY NOMINATE ONE BUGS MOMENT PER PERSON, PER POST. This will give others a chance to reply.
This isn't a list of individual cartoons, but of the scenes/jokes that always make you laugh.
We will allow multiple scenes from the same cartoon.
Have fun, :D
-Jon
There's so many funny moments. Hmmmmmm...I always thought it was funny durring Super Rabbit when Bugs is talking to Cottontail Smith (who is riding his horse). As they talk, they are hopping in and out of the frame, but each time they hop back into view, they are in another hilarious pose. Like holding hands, or Bugs riding Cottontail Smith like a Horse.

Gee, it's nearly impossible to pick just one.....but in terms of one that always gets me, I'll pick one. In "Bully For Bugs", Bugs is reading his map trying to figure out where he went wrong, and is completely oblivious to the bull, until he's right behind him. Bugs just smacks him, and says "STOP STEAMIN' UP MY TAIL! What are ya tryin to do, wrinkle it?!" Bugs keeps reading, until the bull runs off into the distance, then charges right at Bugs and butts him...Bugs just says "Of course you know, this means war".

A great scene that always make me laugh is from "Little Red Riding Rabbit": Bugs keeps copying what the Big Bad Wolf is saying, leading to them singing "Put on Your Old Grey Bonnet". :D

My realy funny Bugs' moments are the Giovani Jone's concert on "Long-Haired Hare" were Bugs Bunny on Leopold are the guest orchestrer. I alway liked this scene were considered a graet classic scene. Overcoat the debut.

My absolute favorite Bugs Bunny gags are all from Rabbit's Feat. If you forced me to pick ONE, I'd have to go with Bugs's final line, "Like the man says, "Don't take life too seriously, you'll never get out of it alive!", but there are so many in this one-Bugs sucking his thumb, the things he does with his ears throughout, the whole, "Daddy, you're back from Peru!" bit, Wile E. unwittingly taking feedback from Bugs on various plans (Too complicated, too much detail, etc), the grenade, the rifle. I love this one, even though a lot of people think it's too manic.

My favorite Bugs Bunny moment is the ending of "All This and Rabbit Stew" when Bugs grabs the fig leaf from the hunter before the iris out! Classic!!

One word "Nope"
In Transylvania 6-5000, Count Blood Count puts Bugs to bed and closes the door. He immediately opens it again and asks "Asleep yet?"
Bugs, his head on the pillow with his hands behind his head, looks at the Count and says "Nope"
No matter how many times I see it, I laugh.

Okay, this is my favorite Bugs Bunny scene:
Ballot Box Bunny - "Oh that was someone for you, Sam! She said to mention St. Louie!" "St. Louie? EMMA!!! YAHOO!!! EMMA, HERE'S YOUR SAMMY BOY!!!" *BLAM* "Huh-huh, same old Emma! Huh-huh...full of laughs........"

Oooo, I just realized we're allowed to pick more than one Bugs scene! :) OK, here's another one of my favorites:
To Hare is Human - Wile E. is completely observent of Bugs' escape from the bag he was once in, and goes on and on about how he can see through Bugs' idea to fool him into thinking nothing's in the bag.
Wile E. : "You and I both know that there's NOTHING in the bag right now...."
Bugs : "Well, I don't like to argue with no genius, but, er, there IS!"
Wile E. : "Hehehe, well..........." (looks in bag) *BLAM*

Hare Force - My favorite Bugs cartoon. When the Bugs snowman melts, Sylvester the Dog whines. "WHA! Duh.......What did I do?" then Bugs says "It's the hot seat for you sure!" Later, Sylvester ends up out in the snow, trying to duke it out with Bugs. Then Bugs says "Eh, how's da weather out there, John L?":p

Geez, Jon, just one? That's torture ;)
OK, if I had to pick at this very moment, and since you've already taken the "Old Gray Bonnet" one, I'd probably go with Bugs' quick-change act ("How `bout me boss?") in "Racketeer Rabbit" after Rocky gives him his first share of the loot.
Given that there are so many, I may wake up tomorrow and think of something else equally good or better.

I'd have to go with all of "Rabbit of Seville" -- especially "yes, you're next, you're so next" (so next? You're next, or you're not, you can't be an amount of next).

Perhaps my all-time favorite Bugs Bunny scene comes from "Bugs Bunny's Christmas Carol":
Bugs, draped in a sheet, says to Yosemite Sam (playing Scrooge):
"I am the Ghost of Christmas!"
Sam: "OOH! I hates Christmas Ghosts!"
B:"Because you're a mean, lowdown man with no Christmas spirit, I'm taking you to see the man in the red suit!"
S: "Y-You mean Santy Claus?"
B: "No, the OTHER guy in the red suit!"
S: "Y-You mean, Down there?"
B: "I do!"
Maybe this is no one else's favorite, but every Christmas, I drag out my VHS copy of Bugs Bunny's Looney Christmas Tales, and this part always cracks me up. It doesn't seem like Christmas without Bugs, Sam, Sylvester, Roadrunner and Taz.

My funniest moment (perhaps of all LT/MMs) involves Bugs, but he's absent in the payoff, so I'm not sure if it counts. I'll offer it as a preliminary, just in case.
It's from Rabbit Hood. The scene where Bugs just conned the Sheriff into building a house on the King's Garden. The slow burn by the Sheriff (after a fade-out/fade-in, no less!) when he finally figures it out - slows his hammering, looks around, suddenly bites on his hammerin' nails, hard - makes me LOL every time I even think about it! :D :D :D :D
If this doesn't count, let me know on this thread, and I'll think of another in the meantime, just in case.

My favorite moment is from "Super-Rabbit". It is when he jumps into a phonebooth and transforms into a "mild-mannered woodland creature". When he comes out, we see him only wearing a hat and a pair of glasses (Ala Clark Kent).

its hard to say there are many funny bugs
momemnts in the line up.
a few i reemmber that were funny
are here
Box office Bunny
the part where bugs trips and sends
Elmer and Daffy in to the Friday the 13ish movie
in the MultiPlex, and the line,
"everyone wants to get into the movies, and
these Jokers want to get out."
Buckaroo bugs
there are many funny scences in this toon,
too many to list, i have to check again to add later time
Widdo Wabbit
the part Elemer opens the door to a show
the line "REMEMBER, your asking for it, *splat*"
Elemer is hit with a pie that bugs holds out the door
as he says the line.
btw, here, was Widdo Wabbit been edited?
i watched it recently and the "you bet your Life"
part seems to be different on CN from what was
on CBS years ago.
can anyone conferm this edit.
:D
Just a reminder to everyone that you should list only one funny moment per post.

Aargh! Here in Denmark, I can't recall which Bugs cartoon contains my favorite moment— and don't have the resources to check!
Bugs is, as I recall, pushing a befuddled victim into some kind of awkward situation, and as he pushes his victim, Bugs gives the guy rapid-fire orders, railroad porter style: "Don't shove there, keep your head down, step lively..." and the like.
After a few moments of this, Bugs turns to us and comments dryly that he used to be a subway conductor on the line between Times Square and Grand Central. While I may not be remembering the quote precisely, that's the general gist of it. Damn, that's funny.
I believe it to be from a McKimson cartoon circa 1949, but I'm not sure. In the bigger picture, McKimson is hardly my favorite Bugs director, so maybe my memory is playing tricks on me.
Can anyone give me an actual title for the cartoon I remember?

Hmm.... I think that's from "Hurdy Gurdy Hare", but I'd have to check later today.
Also, you guys can post more than one of your favorite moment, just do it in a separate post (one per post). We want to have as many people as possible get a chance to respond! :bosko:

I've always loved Bugs dealing with Marvin the Martian. The one I nominate is where Bugs is on Mars and the Aliens ,created by Marvin, keep chasing him and he gets on some scooters and they race back and forth. "Hareway to the Stars". :D

in "Bugsy and Mugsy", Bugs keeps playing tricks on Rocky and Mugsy to make each of them think their partner is trying to kill them. When they find Bugs, Rocky orders Mugsy to "Take this guy into the other room and let 'em have it!" Mugsy 'lets him have it', and he promptly shoots Mugsy in the face with it.

Sorry, that should read "scene," not "game." Too many video games lately. I think I misspelled ingenious too.
Aaaanyway, another favorite scene is from A Wild Hare. "And does he hop around, like this?" The revert to a realistic rabbit stride cracks me up every time.
Actually, I think it was even funnier in...I think Hare Conditioned? The one by Jones with the Great Gildersneeze, in the department store. The gag at the beginning where Bugs hops around the nature scene to advertise the serenity of using the tent that's on sale. Just thinking of him getting up every morning to do that four 8 hours cracks me up.
God, what happened to Chuck Jones? He was a lot cooler before he ironed out his style.

My other favorite Wabbit moment is from Rabbit Fire. It's when Bugs and Daffy are arguing over what season it is by tearing of the posters. They then fine an "Elmer Season" poster. In the end, they go hunting for Elmer.

The name escapes me at the moment, but it's the one where Bugs gets brow-beat into believing he's Elmer, and at the end, gets carried away by the IRS. The last line by Elmer always cracks me up: "I may be a wabbit, but I'm not going to Alcatwaz!" :D :D

There are 2 moments that come to mind and, luckily, both come from "Racketeer Rabbit."
First is when Rocky has Bugs seated under a lamp and is trying to get him to talk about where the rabbit hid his money. Bugs keeps refusing to talk until Rocky pulls out a pistol and holds it in Bug's face. Suddenly, Bugs starts to babble incoherently.
The other scene is when Bugs deguises himself as a gangster and advances on Rocky saying, "It's curtains for you Rocky! Yeah, curtains." Just when you think Bugs is going to pull a gun out of his coat, he instead whips out a curtain rod and drapes it over Rocky's head. "Here!"

Hillbilly Hare-- Bugs calling the square dance. It cracked me up as a kid, it cracks me up as an adult....
"Grab a fence-post hold it tight
Whomp your partner with all your might
Hit 'im in the chin, hit 'im in the head
Hit 'im agin the critter is dead.
Whomp 'im low and whomp 'im high
Stick your finger in his eye. (boing)
Pretty little ring(?), pretty little sound,
Bang your heads against the ground."
...and it cracks me up, now typing it! :D :D

I'm 99 1/2% sure this bit is from Bugsy and Mugsy:
Bugs' all-but-legendary coup de grace involving poor Mugsy, a pair of roller skates, and a very powerful magnet! :D (The resulting audio-only mayhem never fails to leave me holding my sides.)

Leopold? LEOPOLD! Leopold...Leopold...
I love Bugs absolute control over the audience, orchestra, Giovanni Jones AND the laws of physics (even though he never studied Law) in the final segment of Long Haired Hare.
One of the funniest segments ever animated, IMHO.
It's incredibly tough to pick just one, but one that always makes me laugh out loud is from "Hare Trigger." It's when Sam draws a picture of a gun and shows it to Bugs. Bugs looks at it, turns it over, looks at it some more: "Hmm, mm-hmm, hmm..." Then he reaches his final critique, looks down at Sam, and sneers "It stinks."
It's such a simple moment, but so hilarious. Sam is so eager for Bugs' approval of his drawing, and Bugs' dismissal of it is so funny.

You are a cruel, cruel man to make us pick just one cartoon, but here goes.
THE OLD GRAY HARE
1. The scene where Bugs, as an old rabbit, slaps away elderly Elmer's futuristic gun and then strangles him. The timing and exaggerated drawings always make me laugh.
2. When Baby Bugs smashes a bottle of carrot juice over baby Elmer's head. (Lots of violence in this cartoon!)
3. "Time for widdle babies to take their afternoon nap!"

Since we're either right at, or getting close to 50, here are two more involving Bugs and Yosemite Sam, one of which I can't believe everyone forgot:
Bugs Bunny Rides Again: Bugs' buck-and-wing outside the saloon, after which he orders Sam to take it, which he does, right to the finish through the minshaft door Bugs has courteously opened.
Hare Trigger:: Bugs convienently opening the club car door for Yosemite Sam to run straight into the barfight, and then disguising himself as a porter to load down the dazed outlaw with a ton of baggage and then lead him off the side of the train -- but not before getting a tip for doing it from Sam.
The fact that the first one slipped through 2 1/2 pages worth of posts shows just how many great Bugs scenes there are.

Oh god, how could I forget that one? That's also one of my favorites. I think Sam really makes that scene though. "Say! That's pretty GOOD!" Just that instant transition from getting ready to shoot Bugs to trying to get his approval of art skill...that's such a great scene.

"From Hare to Heir", written and directed by Friz Freleng, which (RIGHTLY!) used Yosemite Sam, not Daffy Duck, as Bugs's adversary.
The story had to do with Sam holding his temper in return for being awarded money (in the 1983 clambake DAFFY DUCK'S MOVIE: FANTASTIC ISLAND this was framed by a "eccentric, rich uncle" bit and Sam's anger at the end spoiled the payoff!keep reading) but of course beign Sam (and to provide a plot) he just can't do it-it';s logical then at the end Sam's shown he can hold his temper by letting his royal servents abuse him but Bugs confides (unheard of course) to us that Sam's blown his chances.
Sam doesn't even hear! Ignorance IS bliss! :D

Beanstalk Bunny - "In the story of 'Jack and the Beanstalk', the giant wasn't looking for a rabbit. He was looking for Jack, right?"
"Well, yes, I suppose that's true."
"Fine. He is Jack."
"It's a lie. My name's...Aloysius (sp?). His name is Jack - Jack Rabbit!"
"Oh, no. You're Jack, all right."
"No, you're Jack."
"You are Jack and you know it because it is a fact."
"Looks like I'll have to open up with a pair of Jacks."
and
Racketeer Rabbit - Rocky and his partner (didn't catch his name) are splitting up the money. In the middle of it, Bugs sleepily says "What's up, Doc?" and Rocky hands him some money. Then Bugs goes around the table in different voices and hats saying "And me, boss." and collects a lot of cash.
In addition to the scenes listed, these two crack me up. Pity that someone already said "He's not in this stove."
