Does anyone know when the next DVD is being released for this great series? Are there any rumors circulating about a new BTAS, BB, STAS, and JL DVD? Any info will be helpful thanks.
Thanks

A new Batman animated DVD is rumored for a late 2002/early 2003 release. The format for the disc is being decided (episode set, best of, another five episodes, etc...). Other than that...nothing is known. If the disc is going to be released thi syear, there should be an announcement within the next few months about it.
As for S:TAS, the next possible (and likely) release would be 'Last Son of Krypton', but that depend son the sales of the 'Batman/Superman Movie' DVD. The 'Last Son of Krypton' VHS sold poorly, so I doubt we'll be seeing any S:TAS DVDs anytime soon.
As for BB, the edited ROTJ sold good. 'Batman Beyond: The Movie' sold good. The sales on the unedited original cut of ROTJ' sold great. Yet...WB doesn't have any plans for future installments.
As for JL, expect another DVD in 2003.
And there ya go. If there are any changes or new announcements, I'll let ya know!

Is there any way of knowing how well the first BTAS DVD sold? I remember when it got released it were al sold out all over my city I had to drive an hour to get a copy. They had 25 copies at Bestbuy and were sold out by the time I got out of work. I am assuming it did pretty well.

I can't find the sales numbers anywhere. I've been looking everywhere, but I've had no luck. I do know for a fact the numbers are big. I've gotten reports of constant sellouts at various stores around North America. And the disc landed in the top twenty at amazon.com, at #12 I think. It was a huge seller, and cheap to produce. I'd like to see the final numbers, too.

They are really lacking in producing dvds. I wish the Justice League one had more then 3 episodes on it, then I would have bought it.Why can't they release in box sets for BTAS like a lot of other shows have. I'm just glad it's still on tv or I'd be killing for more dvds. Hopefully they'll start to use their heads and produce more.

I can understand if they can't do season sets. Since the seasons were all wacky. But, I would like to see a quicker release schedule. Say a set of 10-20 episodes released every other month. The only thing we can hope for is that TV shows are starting to explode onto dvd. And Warner (w/Friends & Babylon 5) seem to be on the bandwagon. So hopefully, we shall see it soon.
ps-With regards to how Son of Krypton did on vhs. You can't compare vhs sales to a potential dvd sales. Why would I buy a sp vhs tape when I can tape the exact same thing off tv. At least with dvd you get the better quality, small shelf space and possibility of extras.

That would be kind of good. But was Freeze even in six episodes?

Nope, only three. I don't like the idea of theme discs, even villians. I just wanna see all the villians, and doing theme discs or discs dedicated to one villian isn't gonna do it.

I can't recall if I imagined this or if it's truly a real rumor -- but isn't there also supposed to be more DTVs coming out... and also DVDs of said videos? I swear I heard this, but it was so long ago, I can't really remember it clearly.

It's unsure if a DTV is on the way - mainly becuase WB has been sitting on the scripts for almost a year. If they do happen, it won't be anytime soon.

unknown hero,
Don't give them any ideas(re:villianed themed sets). You do that and we may never see all of the episodes. Full release of all of the episodes in a reasonable release pattern and I will be happy.
