So, how has everyones summer been? Any of you back in school yet? How many are going to be starting high school or college? Make any goals this summer, and if you did, have you been making your way towards achieving them, or decided to screw it since it was summer and you wanted to relax? Share your summer stories!

Ah...yes....the blessed freedom of the 2 1/2 months called summer vacation :D . In June, I went to Cape Hatteras, NC for 1 week. It rained for 5 days lol. Now, for the rest of summer, I plan on staying either A) in the pool in the backyard or B) downstairs because its the only cool place in my 90 degree house. I also am planning on getting some volunteer hours in for high school. Any stories...Well, we did see some dolphins in NC, we caught a baby octupus and a baby squid, we went to visit my aunt's goat farm and got to feed the little baby goats, I almost made my stunt kite hit a seagull, and other stuff that I can't remember right now... :p
Probably later this month we're going to go to Luddington, MI to visit our friends, and maybe to Greenfield Village...or else just sleep in some more :D :p

Oh, I'm just using this period as an opportunity to reflect on stuff--my life, my attitudes, etc,. I don't know if I'm going to find what I want, but I think I have a better idea of what I have to do for the next year or so.
BTW--I'm also trying to find another job. The one I have now sucks.
No real stories to tell here. No loves lost, no cute girl flirting with me on her first day at work, no trips, no nothing. It's comfortable, but at the same time maddening. I guess you could say I feel like I'm in limbo at the moment. Too poor to do anything or go anywhere special, too boring a job, and too much of nothing. Too much thinking and not enough action going on in my life.

My summer break started in mid-June and will end in mid-September when I go back to school. No summer school or work for me, just pure relaxation for me. :D
July 2nd I flew to the Midwest from Los Angeles with my family to visit my mom's college friends and their daughter. We then drove together in their big Suburban all the way to Toronto to visit another pair of my mom's college friends. We also signed up for a 7 day bus tour of Canada's east coast, visiting Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. I had no idea where I was heading before the tour started and the sites I saw were absolutely BEAUTIFUL. After Canada we drove back to the States and made a stop in Chicago, a lovely city that I felt had a mix of something old (New York, Boston), something new (Los Angeles, San Diego), and a style all its own. July 17th I flew back to Los Angeles. It felt nice coming home. :)
In August I have the SD ComicCon to look forward to. ;)

My summer has consisted of working at a crappy grocery store and relaxing. I don't go back to school until 26 August. I'll be starting my second year at George Mason Univ. :(

So far my summer has been "okay". I haven't been to as many parties as I wanted but I did get a job, I've gotten back into comic books, I've been driving and I've been to a few movies. Honestly I can't wait for school to start so it can be over.
Because next year is my Senior year, which means picking and applying to colleges, going to colleges, saying good bye to everyone at my school that I hate, me finally getting my drivers license so I don't have to do it illegally and I'll be getting a brand new car.
It's better than last year when I dedicated my ENTIRE summer to the football team, and didn't even get to start, but the frick'n Seniors did after showing up 2 weeks before the first game.

Hmm, this summer actually has been very busy for me. What with working and interning... but I managed to read 20 books (and counting), go to Ireland, and veg around enough to actually get a tan! (Yes that is an accomplishment.)
As for goals, I really only have one -- graduate in May. Bopping around from college to college and major to major, I'm a tad behind (I should have graduated with my BS a year ago in May). But I'm 30 credits away, and quite excited.
33 more days till I move back to my lovely apartment in Oneonta (freshly painted and renovated) -- and four days after that I start classes!
Life is so dull, I swear! :p :D

Summer has been going fast, and slow, lol, for me. Can't believe about a month has gone by already, but I can't believe I've still got about a month left! We normally never take vacations, our vacations are staying home, going to movies and shopping...more then normal, hehe. But this year my parents and I went to Hawaii for 8 days. It was awesome, but glad to be home nonetheless. I made a goal to read all of Shakespeare...but I totally forgot about it till like last week! So I'm going for at least getting through half. Reading the rest of the Sherlock Holmes story, and slowly gathering more and more Star Wars novels. My summer will have been really great if I can manage to get a job by the end of it, here's hoping! Going for one on campus, and one off campus, I'll go for the better offer when they come, or just whoever calls me first!

Well as soon as Summer comes around I'm probbly going to be working for part of the time.
Mainly relaxing and doing nothing while occasionally going out with friends. It's going by way to quick for me.

Ah...summer...well, it's been going by a little too quickly for me, but it's been fun. Seen a bunch of movies, gone theme park hopping, and hung out with friends. I'm also trying to watch every Hitchcock film before the end of the summer (halfway through....), and read a few Shakespeare's, as well as "Crime & Punishment" while I'm at it (which I've been meaning to read anyway). Also, I'm trying to finish driving lessons so I can finally get my liscense :D , and in August, I get to take Improv classes at the Groundlings :D :D :D , which I can't wait to do...So that's my "eventful" summer...intermingled with late nights (or should I say early morning?) of "All in the Family" re-runs....can't get to sleep at a decent hour for some reason.....

Two more weeks of dealing with a bunch of rowdy kids.....then my REAL summer will begin! Of course, I'm not quite sure what my real summer is, but hey, might as well enjoy waiting for it! :p
Since I'm going into my first year of high school {*gulp*}, I have to read The House of the Seven Gables and write a report on it. My first summer assignment. Greeeeeeat. :D

Pretty good summer, so far :) Still have to get some of my university stuff in order, such as getting my schedule fixed, fees, and shopping for stuff.
Having a "summer fling" with my best friend. I see him almost every day, although it's usually to get together with friends or something.
Been working way too little, but it gives me lots of time to relax. I usually wake up at noon now :D
Occasional overnight parties, friendly get-togethers, and trips to someone's cottage. Sweet :)

I haven't been doing much this summer. I am really just relaxing and getting ready for college. Summer vacation ends August 19th when school starts. Summer's gone by way too fast.

One big roller coaster ride after another. Infact I rode 5 of them this weekend including the number 5 wooden roller coaster in the country according this special on discovery last night. I've actually ridden all of the ones in the top 10 but the Hulk and the two in California.

Time sure flies when you're goofing off. At least, for me it does.
Seriously though, I haven't done much - been working part time, drawimg comics and random stuff on the side, and... oh yes ... finally bought a copy of Final Fantasy VII.
Ah. Of course. THAT's where the time went! :D

Working, reading. I haven't been able to write as much as I wanted to. ~looks at the calender~ Aahh! How can summer be nearly over? But that's always the case with summer--it goes by so quickly.
This summer has been really fun. I've been doing all kinds of fun things, like going to the beach, parties, Six Flags, visiting my cousins, and just hanging out. It's amazing how fast it's going by. Oh well, I guess time really does fly when you're having fun.
The only bad thing is that it has to end. School will start back up in only 2 weeks. I'll be going to high school, and I'm pretty nervous. At least my friends will be there. :)

Story of my life, man. Anticlimatic summers of reflection, too much thought/not enough action. I empathize with you.

Don't sweat it. If you've been through Jr. High, you've passed the hard part- High School, despite what TV tells you, is not near as cruel and difficult. I had to go to a completely different high school then my Jr. High, and even with me not knowing anyone, things turned out OK.
My time this summer's been pretty quiet, but very relaxing and very enjoyable. I've stayed in Austin, enjoying the scenic vistas of Mt. Bonnel, boating on the gargantuan beauty that is Lake Travis, and spent hours reading under the watchful eyes of the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue downtown. I've spent time with my girlfriend, worked a lot at my job (made some good tips, too), and picked up a Gamecube. It's been a nice few months, really.
