Wow, who would have thunk it. Stuart Little 2 ruled the weekend just barely with $15.6 million. Nothing else to say here.

And in second was Road To Perdition with $15.5. Since these two were so close, when actual numbers come out Monday night, Road my actually come out on top.

Men In Black 2 falls from number one after two weeks at the top. In it's third weekend MIIB brought in $15 million for a $158.6 million total.

Harrison Ford's K-19 The Widow Maker debuted at number 4. Kind of surprising since it's Harrison Ford. This movie didn't even make back in it's first weekend what the studio payed Harrison to do it, $25 million!

Mr. Deeds rounds out the top 5 with $7.3 million and sends his latest movie over the $100 million mark. Congrats again to Adam Sandler.

Even though it opened two days early, "from the people that brought you ID4 and Godzilla" 8 Legged Freaks opened all the way down at number 7 with $6.7 million and a $9.2 million total since Wednesday. Another disapointment "from the people that brough you ID4 and Godzilla."

Kind of funny as dragons out did the spiders this weekend. Reign of Fire was number 6 with $7.1 million.

Minority Report is out of the top 10 before Lilo and Stitch! And $18.8 million goes to a conservation fund as Crocodile Hunter falls to number 10. Once again, congrats to Steve Irwin.

Opening next weeked is the third installment of the Austin Powers series. Austin Powers in Goldmember. Also opening up is Disney's next big disapointment, The Country Bears. Why oh why did Christopher Walken have to lend his voice talents to this movie. Ugh.

Here are your numbers....

I'm not suprised...that film looked rather retarded.

Looks like Sony's on A roll here. Probablly one of their best movie seasons yet. I'm glad that "Eight Legged Freaks" didn't open too well. Devlin, and Emmerich deserved it. Talentless hacks! They only got lucky with "Independance Day". But after that, things went down hill. I'd rather watch the He-Man episode "The Sleepers Awaken" than "Eight Legged Freaks".

This is surprising. Hurrah for "Stuart Little 2", I guess.

About "The Country Bears": Christopher Walken isn't just lending his voice; he plays the villain. Pretty weird, considering he's been caricatured on "Animaniacs" and "Pinky and the Brain", shows which CB director Peter Hastings wrote for. Of course most people have reservations about this film; they're adults.

In no small terms, "Eight Legged Freaks" looks cheesier than the inside of a mouse's gut. I was kind of expecting it to do this business.

I know I am in the minority here, but I wanted that to happen. I think Stuart Little is cute.

Take that you spiders! :D

When I was thinking box office this week I have to be honest--I wasn't thinking about Stuart Little 2. I figured it would be between another week of MIIB or Tom Hanks, but I guess I was wrong.

But I'm totally over than because Eight Legged Freaks did about as well as it deserved (maybe less :p )
